LoraX
Not sure if anyone has gone to this event before, but it is very reasonably priced. $30 per carload (must be legally seated, so I presume no one can hide in the trunk) other pricing required depending on size of vehicle is listed on their site. Gates open at 4:00 p.m. and includes: Classic rides FREE with carload admission. Live shows at the Lakeside Pavilion at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30. The main event stage for competitor and judge introductions will be at the northwest corner of the Pool area near the park's main gate. I have never been to Coney other than in the mid to late 80's for a concert. So, I am interested in possibly going to this if I can find a few others to go with us. More information is on their site: http://coneyislandpark.com/event_calendar.php?cID=93
Magenta Lizard
My husband and I went to the first couple of times they had it, meeting up with some other fireworks enthusiast friends. It was insanely crowded. To the point I have no idea what rides they even have, because all I saw were waves of humanity. I'm a little spoiled about fireworks shows from enthusiast events I've attended, so I didn't find the show all that great. It was better than most local shows, though. We probably wouldn't have gone the second time except my husband wanted to see his fireworks buddies.
CoastersRZ
This is the third year for Fire Up the Night. The park typically does get busy. The pricing is reasonable. The rides open at 4pm with the park, and the rides will close once the first firework goes off around 8:30. I personally have worked the last two Fire Up the Nights, and I will be down there again this Saturday working. It is definitely a fun event, and worth going to.
LoraX
My favorite fireworks show is always Thunder Over Louisville. It would take a lot to top it.

upstop
Loved them and went to each showing. Was there a reason other than the selling of the park that the event was ended? Seemed like this packed the park with patrons plunking down cash. I remember getting out of the parking lot at @4am.....good times...lol
Oldiesmann
I'm still hoping to make it out there for that event one of these years. One of my favorite artists is going to be in town on Sunday though so I took that day off instead. Maybe next year!

They elected for lights and stuff on the tower that year. They haven't done it sense.

upstop
^^ Was that when the waterfall effect from the tower went off during cleanup after the event? I remember being outside the park when that happened.
BoddaH1994
Well, that and the showering embers incident....That was from the admin lot over I-Street. I was on the roof of the International Restaurant. Front row for this stuff.
