mobile app updated

For IOS, anyway. Looks like they've added wait times and in-park directions to attractions.

Here's hoping the wait times are accurate within 15min of reality.

I just updated the app on my iPhone and it is not loading for me.

It just goes to the cartoonish version of the skyline.

I can make out what looks to be Intimidator, Carolina Skytower, and Fury 325.

it loaded for me, but the wait times are "this ride is temporarily closed" which makes sense with the park not yet open for the day

I closed all running apps and tried reloading, it's still doing this for me.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus and have never had an issue with an app running on my phone.

I have a 6, it might be an issue with data/signal more than the app (even their server being overloaded).

I had similar issues with the last update loading properly for me the day it dropped. It cleared up that evening (when I was home) and was fine after that

Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Working fine for me now.

I'll check later on once the park opens to see what the wait times look like.

It went from being mostly useless to mostly unusable. I thought it was only loading the splash screen too, until I accidentally swiped it and the menu appeared at the left. Most menu selections just show me the splash screen. Park hours and directions worked, but once I got into it, I couldn't figure out how to get back out :-/

Going to try uninstalling and reinstalling now.

Yep broke my app 9bdde4d66f62797bb8585594c31bd1d0.jpg

**update. It's fixed, yep have to uninstall and reinstall. Not seeing any wait times though.

Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.

To get past the splash screen, you must have location services enabled for the app. It appears that you must actually be in the park for the wait times to appear.

So maybe the wait time thread will still be useful after all..  It sounds like they don't want you to see long wait times and stay home.  On the flip side, locals might be inclined to make an extra trip on light days, if only they knew.  Alas...

Having wait times outside of the park would hurt more than it would help. That's also why you can't really see how busy the park is from the web cams.

And my understanding is that you must be in the park to see the wait times.

That's also why Tony Clark is so insistent that something like the Dragster cam (from the top hat, facing the parking lot) will never return.  Indeed, they'd rather you not know until you're there and it's too late to turn around.

Apparently you can see at least some of how busy the park is from the webcams. My husband (who was at home) texted me about five minutes after the park closed to the public on Sunday night of Coasterstock "Looking kinda dead at the park" :)

Can someone post some phone screen captures while using the updated KI app in the park?  Do they wait times appear accurately?  Are they sync'd with what is being displayed in the park?

I don't have any screen shots, but I can say that they have seemed fairly accurate on the rides that I have compared to the wait times.

They're the same as displayed on the FUN TV boards. They're about as accurate as something like that could be. As in several minutes behind. But worth looking at.

It's been a month since I was there (really hate that it's been that long), but the wait time posted for Tower was hugely inaccurate. The in-park boards said no wait, the actual wait was over an hour. Hopefully they're more accurate than that.

The wait for Eiffel Tower was over an hour??? It must of been REALLY busy that day. :)

Just kidding of course

lol yeah, i meant Drop Tower...guess I got ahead of myself and missed a word. DOH

Having to have location turned on to make full use of the KI app really drains my battery down
