This tweet from Don's twitter page has me very much intriqued. 

Kings Island didn't own Thunder Road.

My heart was racing (no pun intended) when I read that. I honestly don't want The Racer to leave. I think it's too iconic to close, and it doesn't have structural problems like Thunder Road did, at least not that we know of. It would be like losing a family member to me.

I am also hearing rumblings that two things that have been at the park since 1972 that virtually everybody has experienced will be removed to make way for something new.

 

I find a bit intrigue in the part I italicized.  Perhaps its not a ride, but some other thing like the main entrance or the fountain that'll get a makeover or something.  Maybe a spruce up of the Eiffel Tower or KIMVRR?

I do believe the focus in that photograph is intended to be the two signs that say "Remain Seated", as a "cute" way to say "Stay tuned, you will all get your information tomorrow at 2pm."

Whatever happens tomorrow has to be the answer for why The Racer has been shown no love over the past few years.  Looks a shambles of it's former self.

 

I am calling for a re-do, new paint, new lights, new track, the works. 

 

Of course, that means they will bulldoze it...lol

You guys/girls are making me worried for the future of The Racer (please have it just be reufurbs if The Racer is touched)

Well, the "two things" could be both sides of The Racer.  On a possibly related note, the "Coney Mall" sign did strangely not return this year.  Could they be "going in a different direction" with Coney Mall?  Hopefully this isn't the case.

I hope not Racer too.

I hope this major announcement has nothing to do, with The Racer.Given the instagram post, and tweet had The Racer in them. Hopefully just a flat ride. Just a thought......

If Racer gets removed it will be a sad day in KI's history. Racer is still a popular ride and it has given the most rides in the parks History. Maybe they are adding something to Coney Mall? Please do not announce The Racer is being removed tomorrow.

My guess maybe the gate and the boo blaster building!!! Btw Cedar Point's website has the season pass info up for 2016. They are advertising an unlimited all season refill cup for next year for $22.99!!!!

Racer is probably safe considering its still popular, but I'd hate to see another racing woodie go down. We're still feeling the pain down south. If I had to guess, next year's addition will be one of the classic flats from Europe.

Could it be possible that they're only removing one side of The Racer? Maybe to open up that area near Action Theater for future park expansion / a new themed area?

Anywho. I do agree those "two things" most certainly do not have to be rides or attractions. They could be little things. Like that one water fountain on International Street that's been there since 1972...

I hope Don is trolling with us. The Racer still gets sizable lines every once in a while. I don't think the park would be the same without it.

Maybe coaster re-work? I know what 2019 is going to be for Kings Island!

I don't think it's the removal of The Racer or the addition of any new ride. If everybody has experienced it since 1972...EVERYBODY...then that must mean it's something you can't escape from experiencing. Such as the parking lot, the front gate, or the fountains.

Note that he is off by one day. Also, he implied a couple of pages ago that his countdown was referring to something else.

Could this have anything to do with Dinosaur's Alive? Pretty sure that contract is about up and could be 'one' of the two things?

Edit: nevermind. Forgot it said two attractions since 1972.
