rlentless Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Six Flags is following Disney's lead. http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2015/07/23/six-flags-ban-selfie-sticks-at-all-theme-park-locations/?intcmp=features 13 Quote
purdude86 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Hopefully all parks follow this lead. They aren't necessary and pose a greater danger when used on rides. and they are just annoying in crowds on pathways and can even be hazardous there. 13 Quote
medford Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 meanwhile, at Valleyfair just a few weeks ago, selfie sticks were proudly sold in the shop closest to the front gate. Although, I never actually saw one in use there (Did see one at Mall of America); I don't get the interest. On an (un?)related note, the operators at Valleyfair stopped Corckscrew on the lift hill until the person a few rows ahead of me removed their glasses from the top of their head. They were able to wear them over their eyes, just not sitting on top of their head. 6 Quote
Steph88 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 "We apologize for any inconvenience this causes" "Great, now I can't go to Six Flags. This is SO inconvenient!" I know it's a general statement companies add on, but it's funny in this case. 9 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 When I was on Magnum on Monday, we stopped on the lift hill briefly before a ride op walked up, had a brief chat with a guest a few rows up, then walked back to the station with said guest's cell phone. The person did get their phone back after the ride, but I'm glad to see CP actually doing something instead of endless "please put your phone away" requests over the PA... 11 Quote

homestar92 Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 I can confirm that at least one former SIX property has not banned selfie sticks, and is in fact selling them on their premises... 4 Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Key word: Former. They know their market. 5 Quote
