Gannersdaddy
Hi, first this is Amy, Greg's wife. I woke up this morning to a paypal email saying I had paid 157.50 to KI. I freak out because I didn't authorize any payments recently other than the monthly 31.50 which our payment is taken out on the 22nd and our last payment is April 22nd. I go to the paypal site and the explanation is the "monthly purchase agreement". WHAT? The only thing I could do was open a dispute. I tried calling earlier, no answer. Everyone, check your credit card statements. I think there's a glitch happening. Thanks, Amy
electricsun
That isn't a fun thing to wake up to! I saw this on Dorney Park's FB page: "We have been notified that on Wednesday, March 30, guests who use PayPal accounts with our Easy Pay Payment Program were erroneously charged. The error is limited to guests who use PayPal accounts for their installment payments. Our payment processor is actively working with PayPal to rectify the situation and ensure timely credits are issued. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience as we work toward resolution." https://www.facebook.com/dorneypark I would recommend calling Kings Island if you haven't already.
malem
I expect that the incorrect charges will be reversed automatically, since they're aware of the problem. If anyone had a linked bank account overdrawn by such an erroneous charge, make sure to keep documentation of & seek reimbursement for any resulting bank fees.
MantisMan
Hit me for 2 charges at a grand total of $252.50 via Paypal to Kings Island. Oddly......my bank account is linked but there has been no withdraw of that amount or anything out of the ordinary. Needless to say I've taken all precautionary measures and at this point I've had no actual loss of funds but still it has royally screwed up my day!!!
malem
^ PayPal withdrawals can take 3-5 days to show up in your bank account online statement. Hopefully the parks make it right with affected customers; even temporarily being out $252 could be a major inconvenience for many.

They will make it right; unless they want a class action suit against them.

Tr0y
Were they refunding the entire bill and giving you the pass for free, due to the inconvenience? - tr0y making a paypal account.

jdf21972
Fathers Day 2013 again except on a much smaller scale. The park did the right thing and did everything they can to solve this issue quickly. Great job KI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dare-to-fly
Were they refunding the entire bill and giving you the pass for free, due to the inconvenience? Yes they would refund hundreds/thousands of passes because of a glitch they didn't cause and go bankrupt instead. Because of course that makes sense. I understand that they need to fix any inconveniences, but that doesn't mean that they need to give the park away to do it. As long as things are put to right, that should be good enough. It reminds me of the lady that I saw yelling and screaming about having to come back because they forgot an order of fries and wanting the entire order for free as an apology. I don't understand where this self-entitlement attitude has come from. They're not going to give you a free franchise because they screwed up your sandwich...you get another freaking sandwich - comparable value. Not the whole store. ...rant over.
rcwizard13
I think someone failed to pick up on sarcasm. Then again, that's why I hate when people use sarcasm online. It just can't be properly conveyed.
