flightoffear1996
My wife and I are looking to visit a theme park this coming weekend. We don't want to do KI, CP, Holiday World or Dollywood. What else would be within a 4 or 5 hour drive from the i275 loop that we could visit?
TombRaiderFTW
Off the top of my head, Kennywood. It's probably about 5 hours away from the 275 loop, if I had to guess. Not sure what your ideal timeframe is, though--Kennywood's only open 6pm-midnight on Friday and Saturday and 6pm-11pm on Sunday, all of which is for their Halloween event. I've never been, but I've heard good enough things. The rides themselves there are great, though! There's also Camden Park, which has similar hours but is probably closer.

The Interpreter
Beech Bend appears to be closed for the year.
King Ding Dong
SFGAm just makes the cutoff:You can even malem it and be back home in less than 24 hours! SFSTL would be closer to 6 hours away. malem
It should be noted that getting to SFGAm could take much longer than that, depending on traffic around Chicago. Also note that there are 4 toll plazas in each direction. If you don't have an EZPass transponder, you can still drive through EZPass lanes (Chicago Skyway & Indiana Toll Road excluded), write down the toll plaza numbers, and pay missed tolls online within 7 days without penalty. Early Saturday morning was a good time to make the drive; traffic on 294 (speed limit 55-60) was moving at ~80.
flightoffear1996
Yea, I have done SFGAM in a day and we are not too sure about doing that again. We could stay in a hotel but would rather not. Things on the East Coast we didn't want to risk because of the hurricane.
silver2005
I was about to suggest looking on RCDB as they used to have a sort of radius checker where you could put in a city and a radius range and see what there is, but they've since removed that feature.
BoddaH1994
My vote is for Kennywood. It's a GREAT park! I can't believe how many in this community haven't been there!!
