150’ Skywheel coming to Coney for a 6 week stay in 2018

Featured Replies

I am very excited for this news.  I wish that this was staying all summer long.  It will certainly be quite the site, and offer some really unique views.  I think the admission price is also very fair.

That's really interesting! Most wouldn't think of a traveling Ferris Wheel/Sky Wheel. I know I didn't. It'll be interesting to see how many folks decide to ride.

I'm wondering where in the park this will sit.

Awesome thanks @bengals fan for that link!

In Coney's Facebook post, when they said it was soaring over the Ohio River, I pictured it further back in the park.

Definitely planning to check this out. Kind of bummed it's not permanent.

This wheel will also be in Louisville for the Kentucky Derby Fesitival.

Ferris wheels freak me out for some reason.  I am taking a hard pass on this one.

LMAO  I have to agree... if I was ever to be injured on a ride, ferris Wheel would be my guess...

I have no issue with the big wheels like this, but the smaller 12-seat wheels like the ones at Coney Island and Stricker's Grove make me legitimately nervous. They're the only rides left (of those I've encountered in my short travels) that do so.

Construction on the Island Wheel is coming along.  This is located in the parking lot, right next to the Twister water slide, and next to the East Pool Gate (which is an exclusive entrance for season pass holders.

You can see this thing from the pool area, as well as along Lake Como (and likely from the 275 bridge).  I can`t wait to see this thing at night.
