Maverick44 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Sorry for double post ARTEMIS IS ALIVE!!! 1
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Wait, I thought it was supposed to be taller than Zeus.

Maybe they will start and it will get taller as we go. Maybe Artemis will be used to hold the taller supports up while Zeus and other cranes raise the track. We shall see.
BBN Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Guessing they're just getting it out of the way?? 1
sixohdieselrage Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Like Zeus, Artemis has a secondary boom that may be longer than the primary.
TheFloppyDisc Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 And now Artemis is back down The construction was just baiting us.

But as some posted earlier, this model crane might not have a luffing jib option...
BBN Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 So I'm guessing they'll have to install the "headchopper piece of.track" first under the drop before starting the actual drop itself? I just noticed that on the layout myself anyway

Rockfrog33 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 If you look closely, they picked up Artemis's boom to let Zeus cross over closer to the track...
ohiocoasterfan Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 If you look closely, they picked up Artemis's boom to let Zeus cross over closer to the track... Yes. I just checked the cams for the first time and I was wondering how Zeus got on the other side of Artemis. They have all the other pieces already delivered on the other side of Artemis boom by the first large lift support. I watched them deliver and store this yesterday. I don’t think Zeus could reach the far areas without moving to its current spot.

My thinking is because what if they install the lower portion and something happens and when they are lifting the hill somethings falls and damages the track below (headchopper portion). Idk you guys may be right. I think they can easily guide the track into place with the hill already up. 1

sixohdieselrage Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 What if they dropped the drop on top of the drop? 1 1

LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 If they drop the drop, it's taking out several buildings along with it! 1
sixohdieselrage Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 We would have another Yukon Striker reenactment. On edit: They are building more of Artemis. Btw, I couldnt upload the full image, so I had to crop it. 3
ohiocoasterfan Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 How far of a drop would the top of the drop drop if the top of the drop did drop? 1 5
Maverick44 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Aretmis is going to be large and in charge. 1
ohiocoasterfan Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Looks like Artemis is almost complete. They have reached the road. I would think he’ll be up and moving this afternoon. 1
JonahWilliamson Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Imagine the sound of dropping a 20,000lb piece of steel from 300... i mean 268 feet 1 7

JonahWilliamson Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 If we really calling that crane white castle we are ABSOLUTELY going to need those Area 72 restrooms 1 7
Maverick44 Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 It is not being called White Castle. Smh that is a terrible name for a crane imo lol It has been dubbed Artemis. 3
