Cedar Point will have ERT in 21

Hopefully this is not something KI will consider. If they do try it, I don't see it lasting long with the parade of complains that will roll in.

Edit: This reminds me when they changed the meal plan at Panda Express to one entree item from two. How long did that last? Like two weeks before it was changed back.

Cedar Fair also tried to switch All Season Dining from two meals at any time with a minimum wait time of 4 hours, to only giving you two short windows around 12n and 6p.  This was a change announced not only after passes had been sold for the year, but early in the year after passholders had been using it with the 4hr interval at Knott's.  Fortunately, they caved, but it was disappointing that they tried to pull that over on us.

Kings Island actually closed the lines for The Beast and Orion early last year to have everyone off before the fireworks when they first started later closings. I remember some people not being too happy about this because the lines closed up to an hour early without notice, and many people were unable to obtain night rides on two of Kings Island’s most popular coasters. Even with notice of early line closings, guests would not be able to experience more than one major coaster at night in a park known for world class night rides. You basically have to get in line when it is still light outside and just wait in line for your one night ride while it gets dark. Luckily, this only lasted a few weeks last year before they started letting people get in line right up until 10:00 PM, waiting out the fireworks, and riding the ride no matter how late it was. Basically, they went back to how it should be.

Richard Kinzel also did not have to navigate the parks through a global pandemic that forced the closure of the parks, the late opening of the ones that could open and the limited operation of all open parks.

Richard Kinzel also said he would not add a certain Intamin coaster to CP with all the problems it causes.

Since you brought it up that certain coaster brought so much free publicity/advertising to the park.   It was plastered all over tv for years.

Free???

I am not sure the park sees it that way when they spend thousands to advertise that ride and draw people in. Then, when the people who bought a ticket from that advertising is in line for it for over an hour and it goes down. What about the case where those people made a few day trip out of it and it never opened. (all of these scenarios I have heard from multiple people each season.)   All that advertising hype down the drain and the customer leaves unhappy and does not return.
