HomerJay
One thing I think PKI could really use would be a nice addition for adult visitors to the park for afterhours. WDW has Pleasure Island and Universal Studios has their boardwalk. It's a nice place for adults to get out, get a nice dinner, see some street entertainment, maybe put a movie theatre there. I don't know about you, but as an adult sometimes on nights where the park closes at 10 I'm just having too much fun to head back to the hotel/campground. Plus it would be a nice place to go where you could relax, unwind, do some shopping, get a nice meal (instead of rushed theme park stuff) and not have to worry about the kids. I think it would be a cool idea, although I'm not sure where they could fit it. PKI sounds like it wants to turn into some sort of resort-area and that would be a definite draw. Plus, I don't know about you, but sometimes I just want to go away from the 12-17 year olds who seem to infest the park and can't stop running, yelling or groping each other every five feet! BoddaH1994
So you think they should have a strip with shops, restaurants, etc. that's only open to adults?
CoastersRZ
They already have all the shopping you could want, one exit south on 71 at Fields Ertel Road.
Dan
That's "Cincinnati" shopping.

HomerJay
There's two reasons I'd like to see something like that: 1.) As I get older (I'm on the dark side of my 20s now), thrill rides just simply aren't enough. I want to go out, experience new food and new entertainment. Why drive into an area I don't know too well if it's right there? Especially when the park closes at 10 and it would be close to 11 by the time I got anywhere. 2.) Sometimes it's nice to get away from young people. I'm sure that many people reading this board are teenagers and I'm sure the majority of you are fine people. But the most aggravating thing I deal with at the park is having to deal with teenagers running around, screaming and acting like idiots. It would be nice to have a place that caters to an over 18 crowd where you can get out and relax for a bit. No waiting in line. Have a nice sit-down dinner. Make it a place you'd actually WANT to take a date!
familyman
Not a bad idea. The way I see it working is a 21 and older after/closing party.
Gordon Bombay
After visiting Downtown Disney and absolutely hating it because of how expenisve everything is down there I would only like to see this at Kings Island if they made it reasonable and not ridiculous in every aspect like disney did. I can see KI putting in something like this by their new hotel.
TQZ
The only problem with this is PKI's name. They want to be "Family Oriented" I dont see it happening.

TheKlockster
Would it be cool - yes. Would it happen - no. The reason Disney and Universal have those is that they want to keep you in their park at all times. They give adults something to do after the park closes. They are open all year round and they want people to go to Orlando, and just stay at Disney or Universal. The parks even have shuttle service that will pick you up at the airport and take you straight to their park! PKI is seasonal, and a family park. It just isn't big enough to want something like this. Maybe after the lodge is built, and PKI has developed about half of their remaining property, and the park is open year round - then maybe we will see something like this. But not any time soon. familyman
I was saying a social event after the park closes. No porn or adult shops just a night club atmosphere. I doubt it would happen but it is a nice thought.
italianchef
Come on now guys. Kings Island is a family based park. If you want porn go to a strip club. Would you take your children to a park that has adult only stores and entertainment? What would they sell in those stores? I've seen some nasty things at the park and would hate to think what someone would be tryen to do with a new 10 inch toy while ridding The Beast or dark ride even. Then you sit in that same seat the next night, or even next ride, you never know. And why would you go to an amusement park to watch the latest movie? I go to the movies to see a movie, mall for crap I don’t really need, and Kings Island for their good old thrill rides... Pleasure Island at Disney and Universal's City Walk do NOT have pornography. Where do you get your information from? Have you ever visited Disney and Universal Studios? By "adult" entertainment, they mean restaurants, dance clubs, and shops that appeal to adults rather than families with small children. And I think if PKI acquired land across the street from it (perhaps a certain resort) and converted it into a group of restaurants and shops - combined with Showcase Cinemas (which is also Viacom), it'd be very much like Disney's Pleasure Island. And as an adult, who sometimes wants to have a romantic dinner with his wife, I would welcome and applaud the idea. However, I SERIOSULY doubt it'll happen. Have a great day! King Bowser
As Paramounts grow anything could or can happen down the line I really dont think paramount will sell there park chain they put to much money into those parks and they bring in to much money for them to sell them off so I think a boardwalk could happen look at WDW's I love that boardwalk I always visit it when I go to florida. jzarley
The only problem with this is PKI's name. They want to be "Family Oriented" I dont see it happening. And, the WALT DISNEY Company isn't family oriented? He was making a comparison to Pleasure Island/Downtown Disney, not the strip clubs out by the airport... Considering the recent sucess of mixed-use "lifestyle centers" (like Easton in Columbus, Legacy Village in Cleveland, and that one in Westchester...), this is a pretty good idea. However, to be feasible it would probably be a year-round center. Chef's idea of making the movie theater the "anchor" is a good one. (Although, I believe Viacom is in the process of selling the cinema chain...of course, they're also in the process of selling the parks, so I guess that doesn't really mean anything.) Joel P.S. Also, keep in mind--nothing says that Viacom would have to be the ones to develop it...
emonun
Universal City walk, the best place I have ever been to expirience "the night life" as they say. I would be probono on the whole testing out the idea if KI needed a test group.
Thrill_Biscuit
It seems that PKI has always had the ability to grow at any pace it wants to. It is already a very famous, very-awesome world-class park that is well-known the world over. Its lack of adult-only areas doesn't make it any less of a grand experience, no matter what age. It's one of the Giants. Period. Someone once said, "Always leave them wanting more!" The park has mastered this strategy over the years (just look at any 'rumors' list). Through the decades, I'm sure they'll continue to recognize the desires of its more mature guests and create new and exciting ways for them to enjoy their visits. The kids...will always yell and run; it's the inescapable part of the amusement park experience. In sharp contrast to the mundane aspects of life, the sheer excitement of the park invites them to have maximum fun: full-throttle. When we get older, we look (or feel) stupid running and yelling, so we develop other ways to enjoy our time there. We have fun watching our own kids go nuts in the park we grew up in. I saw a happy, 75-year-old man on The Racer, just enjoying the heck out of the ride. It seems that we'll never be too old to enjoy ol' PKI, adult area or none. PKI Foodguy
I've thought this would be a great idea for quite a while now. I absolutely love City Walk. It doesn't even have to be strictly an adult area. Just an area with extra entertainment and restaurants. The movie theater would be a great idea with a couple of themed restaurants like Margaritaville, house of blues, rainforest, hardrock, nba cafe, planet hollywood, etc. Or places like Espn zone, Jillians, Dave and Busters, or gameworks. It could have a bowling alley. A big fountain with cool jets like Bellagio. And live entertainment is never bad, well if its good live entertainment anyway. Citywalk even lets teens in some of their night clubs on certain nights. The boardwalk itself could be made into a year round attraction. I think it would be a great draw for the area. moore
I would welcome the idea only because one of the major reasons being we don't go to amusement parks is because I'm the only one in my family who likes roller coasters. I talked my dad into riding Top Gun and he like freaked out. I think it would provide a place for my parents to go while I'm with my friends. Plus, it's really awkward walking by a couple frenching with your parents. It's happened multiple times. I guess the "adults only" area would be a place my parents could hang out at because they find NOTHING interesting at PKI.
