May 20, 20251 yr Started the trip by setting up camp at Kings Dominion Camp Wilderness. The campground and facilities were clean and the staff were friendly. They upgraded me to a deluxe site which included electricity as well as a camp site light which was nice. First day I spent at KD and immediately greeted at the front gate with banners commemorating the parks 50th birthday. However, that was the extent of the birthday decor going on at the park. The Eiffel Tower had no banners or decor to commemorate the parks birthday or itself for that matter. They didn’t even bother to place the “AI generated” birthday signs next to rides that were celebrating their birthday within the park. One of which was Racer 75, which turned 50. No subsequent merch for Racer 75’s 50th either. I got to experience the VIP lounge at KD and WOW, what a lounge. It’s everything one would expect for a VIP lounge. Comfy furniture, plenty of TV’s, Air conditioning and it’s nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the park with a nice view of the pond which is very relaxing. This alone would totally be worth the upgrade to Prestige if King’s Island had something similar. Other than that, Pantherian was not operating and the subsequent area was blocked off. I got to ride Rapterra a bunch. It was well themed, and had a good pace. A good addition for KD. When it comes to food at KD you really can’t go wrong but if I had to pick a favorite, Grain & Grill would be my choice. photo credit: @DonHelbig
May 21, 20251 yr I'm holding out hope that more anniversary decorations will be put up as the official celebration starts. Some stuff was already brought over from Kings Island's celebration and rebranded, so hopefully more is on its way. Big plus if they can put the huge medallion on the front of their Eiffel Tower!

May 23, 20251 yr I'm so excited to see that!!! Kings Dominion deserves the love and fanfare, and I'm glad they're getting both. I do wonder if the center of the medallion is the exact same one from Kings Island since it has "A Golden Celebration" instead of "A Golden Summerbration". Either way, congratulations again to Kings Dominion on your milestone!
June 7, 20251 yr Nice, I just got back yesterday from staying 6 nights at Kings dominions campground, and the location was excellent. Being my second trip to Kings Dominion, I have to say that park is WONDERFUL, even with their Giga down, it was still a excellent park. And after making my second visit to WBG and seeing how money hungry they are, I truly appreciate Cedarfair that much more.

I loved it and the whole Jungle themed area is just awesome. Also, I dont know if you can answer this for me, but I'm 6'5 and haven't been able to ride Kings Islands drop zone for the last 20 years since they changed the length of the belt, but can fit on KD drop zone.. I'm just not sure why
June 10, 20251 yr I have to admit, that new Pantherian paint job is growing on me. Much more striking for a giga than the old McDonald's colors. The only thing cooler would be if the lift supports were gradient from black at the bottom to red at the top. As someone who thinks they got kind of neglected after they built I-305, I'm really happy for the investments CF/SIX has been sending their way in recent years. I feel like they were too afraid too compete with that park down the road at Williamsburg for a while. Glad they're re-finding their niche in their market.
