Best Food Item at Kings Island?

Recommended Posts

As a bit of a culinary head myself, I go to Kings Island for bold flavors, sweet treats, and a menu big enough to satisfy anyone’s flavor palate. This thread is for us, the flavor saviors, the hero’s of taste, the defenders of dessert!

Lets use this this thread as a place to network, communicate, and come together over one of the best features at Kings Island: food.

This thread will be centered around: your favorite item.

My favorite item: The Pub Burger

Now this ain’t no average fast food burger, NO SIR! This is a culinary adventure that can only be found at Kings Island Brewhouse located in Rivertown.

A soft warm bun invites you in for a bite, hiding away a plethora of meat, cheese, and delectable garnishes. The two pattys are akin to grade A wagu beef, you bite into it and it melts in your mouth like butter, but more savory and tender. Some say that like thors hammer only the best chefs can touch the grills back there and I believe it!

Cheese (aged) and locally sourced adorns the patty, providing a texture change that might be unexpected for some foodies, but satiates a different taste bud.

Then, for those adventurous diners they are treated to an onslaught of health, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a side of pickles. So fresh if you close your eyes you can feel the dirt beneath your feet, the hum of a tractor, and the sound of country music as you collect the reapings of your harvest from a local Mason farm.

Now I know what you’re thinking, that was pretty boss. How can one top this?

Well let me introduce you to my little friend: A SIDE OF BARRELS!!!!!!!

*MIND BLOWN*

As if the Pub Burger wasn’t enough, the elite specialized culinary team was kind enough to grant you access to a top secret side, known as barrels, some GP might describe them as tater tots. (Whatevs…)

These little guys are like a flavor explosion in each bite, crispy, crunchy, and a tasty flavor wave straight to your stomach chakra brah, opens up flavor buds to the next dimension.

What is your favorite food item at the park and why? I look forward to your suggestions and watching this group embark on new culinary adventures that can only be found at the best place on earth the one, the only , Kings IslandDD!!

If this post was made in the future, I would have to say the cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory or a delicious flame-grilled Whopper at Burger King.

Lol, good points.

The Cheesecake Factory is a very legitimate idea that holds weight, I heard former VP & GM Mike Koontz lay down the plans at a Coopers Hawk in Liberty Township. Don’t know why that post was taken down…maybe the mods know more than we do? ;)

I personally really like everything from Coney BBQ

The pulled pork is my new favorite there (it was the Rotisserie Chicken)

I really like that Coney BBQ gives you lots of food, too. Call me a biggie or whatever, but I want to make the most of my money and I LOVE BBQ food...I've already paid off my meal plan.

Now for whatever reason, my stomach has never rejected Coney BBQ in my 20+ times going there. But, I know lots of people who don't do well after eating there.

Maybe it's the corn.

Or it could be the collard greens they serve or used to serve.

How it feels to eat the muffuletta at The French Corner

Now let me tell you something, when you go to Kings Island you’re not just getting greasy diner crap, no no no, NO SIR! You are getting Michelin five star meals, right here in the heart of Mason aka Ohio’s Largest playground.

Strolling on International Street it’s easy to close your eyes, let the sounds of the fountains and music transport you to the old country. Am I in the Swiss alps? Am I in the vineyards of Spain? Or am I in a quaint Parisian cafe, with a subtle exterior and bold flavors on the inside, beckoning your taste buds in with wafts of the most delectable delicacies this side of the missippi? Yes, this, now this is real life. *pinches arm*

To the unassuming eye this may come across as a mere facade, a simple extension of the themed land known as International Street, but to true fans when we see that balcony we know we are about to treated to one of the best meals in the park.

Opening up that door is like being transported back in time to the turn of the century France, Parisian art adorns the wall setting the tone for this first class meal, foreign cigarette smoke emanates off of the associates behind the counter, and if you’re lucky the ice may not be turned on, just like a real European cafe experience.

Now this isn’t some chic boujee cafe, no sir. This is like Anthony Bourdain walked you into the heart of Paris to your favorite cafe and opened the door into a portal of flavor, yeah you’re not getting that touristy crap here, these guys don’t play around.

My go to is the Muffuletta, flavorful without being overbearing, light but filling, savory with a dash of spice. This flavor combination is bound to satisfy the hunger from any foodie.

The bun on this sandwich feels like biting into a fluffy cloud, happy as it could be. I suspect that each morning they bake the bread, fresh, for guests like us to enjoy. I imagine the upstairs has large stone furnaces reminiscent of what you may find in a European bakery, as KI only provides guests with the best day experience spared at no expense.

The meats are a culmination of western and Eastern European flavors coming together, to bring bold new flavors that haven’t been seen before at a park setting.

The Cheese is representative of the unique flavors that France brings to the table, not too overbearing, but when you bite in it’s like a distant friend just saying “Hey, yeah I’m here, I’m here for you, enjoy.”

Now who could forget about the olives? Originating from the Mediterranean region these vegetables harken back to the International Street theme, and truly tie together the sandwich. On a nice summer day there is no better feeling than the cool vegetables against the warm bread and meat, big ups to whoever made this decision.

Now with this dish you do get a side, and I’ll be frank, none of them really jump out to me, they’re all just fine.

Overall the atmosphere of this place and the sandwich alone are worth a visit to the park. Looking to make a trip across the pond this summer for a culinary adventure? No plane ticket required, The French Corner has got you covered.

When queso was included at Enrique's/Hank's I would say a chicken burrito bowl. I suppose it still counts even if you have to pay extra for the queso...

Im in the minority, but I honestly don’t get why people think the pub burger is so great. its underseasoned and tastes of nothing.

I’ll go with the BLT over it any day of the week.

I think the pub burger is just okay. I always preferred the burgers at Jukebox, at least until they "streamlined" that place.

I prefer the Pub Burger because they are fresher (or feel fresher) than the ones at the Festhaus or Jukebox. Those two locations keep their burgers wrapped under a heat lamp, as opposed to coming out sooner after being cooked like I think is the case for the Brewhouse. Being able to sit inside and enjoy the air conditioning also helps my food rankings a lot.

It’s not AI buddy.

Sounds like someone just hasn’t had the muffuletta or experienced the culinary adventure that is the French Quarter. Once you understand, let’s circle back.

This thread is for KI FOODIE FANS, because that’s who we are, and that’s who we care about.
