Dane
The most anticipated ride of the summer will open this Friday, April 29 for a Gold Season Pass private event, then for all park guests beginning Saturday, April 30. Technical rehearsal runs all weekends through May 15. “Technical rehearsal allows our park guests the opportunity to sneak on our newest Hollywood-inspired fast-track coaster, while we continue to place finishing touches on the attraction’s special effects and movie sets,†said Paramount’s Kings Island’s executive vice president and general manager, Craig Ross. “THE ITALIAN JOB: Stunt Track is an interactive family thrill ride designed for everyone who craves high-speed, hair-raising excitement.†During technical rehearsal of the park’s new attraction, guests may encounter temporary delays or closures while the ride and show program are adjusted. The grand opening for THE ITALIAN JOB: Stunt Track is May 20 when the park begins daily operation. THE ITALIAN JOB™: Stunt Track, is a new multi-million dollar fast-track coaster experience based on the high-action finale of Paramount Pictures’ The Italian Job (2003) starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Seth Green, Mos Def, and Donald Sutherland. This new wild ride takes families on a high-speed stunt car adventure through movie sets and scenes inspired by the film’s climatic chase sequence. Park guests experience what it’s like to be a Hollywood stunt driver and go behind the scenes of an action movie. Guests board their very own MINI Cooper S tricked out with audio special effects adding to the multi-sensory sensation of the experience. Once strapped into their custom stunt car, rubber meets the road as the MINIs peel out to begin their chase sequence. Drivers twist through a parking garage, dodge near-collisions, race down stairs, chase through tunnels and narrowly escape massive explosions triggered by gunfire from a menacing helicopter. Tires skid out one last time as the stunt cars crash through a billboard and splash down into an L.A. aqueduct concluding the chase sequence and their screen test trial as a stunt driver! DeliriumDreamer
I'll be here this friday.
CoastersRZ
It will first open during the Gold Pass Party next Friday from 5-10. It will then be open to the public every weekend until daily operation begins and the ride officially opens on May 20. However, as has been stated, they will continue to fine tune the ride experience up until its official opening on May 20th, so sporadic closures and downtime will occur when it is open. CoastersRZ
Unfortunatly, the forecast does not look good for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all though the rain is supposed to be more scattered in nature, and at least the highs will be in the upper 50`s to 60s. Don`t know if they would push back the opening of IJST if it is raining.
flightoffear1996
Sounds like the park is gonna be packed this weekend.
CoastersRZ
Why would the park be packed this weekend? While IJST opening would draw in some people, with the weather forecast, I would not be tempted to say it will be packed (in fact the opposite is true). Enough is enough with the rain! flightoffear1996
Well when I looked at eh forecast it was 65 and sunny now its 60 and thunderstorms, the weekend is still too far away to tell.
CoastersRZ
Well the forecaster have been calling for rain for quite some time now, at least channel 9 and 12 have been.

coasterville
Good Morning, I just noted in the parks e-mail newsletter that went out last night, that this weekend the preview will be limited to just Gold passholders, and then only to the first 2,000 Gold passholders who pick up a ride ticket at the Eiffell Tower Guest Relations booth. They are, however, apparently going to run this weekend Fastpass style with everybody's ticket having an assigned ride time.

MarketingExpress
make sure you read the print above.... "The first 2000 gold pass holders" will have the opportunity to ride, not everyone who comes to the park this weekend.
