BoddaH1994
Well, we can all agree that Nights of Fire was a pretty impressive show this year. What I'm asking is whether you prefer Nights of Fire the way they did it this year, with a KILLER lighting display on the tower, or the way they've done it the past couple of years, doing various fireworks off the tower. Just curious, Ryan
CoastersRZ
I have to wonder if the reason for no fireworks off the tower this year was in any way related to the nice new paint job it got this season?
PKI_Diana
I have to wonder if the reason for no fireworks off the tower this year was in any way related to the nice new paint job it got this season? ABSOLUTELY! Why ruin something that was so expensive to paint?!?!?
beastdude
I like it a lot more when they shot fireworks off the tower. Last year it didn't work to well.
Oldiesmann
I thought the fireworks show was pretty impressive this year, but I felt that PKI didn't provide enough information about the show... TV ads still showed fireworks being shot off of the tower, even though that wasn't part of the plan. The in-park announcements regarding best viewing areas were rather vague (clear view of the top of the tower and the open sky to the left - this puts you at many different angles, some of which would result in the fireworks being behind you). There was never any mention of being allowed to put a blanket or towel down in front of the fountain to view the fireworks - although this is a great idea, you wouldn't have known this unless you strolled by there and saw it. The additional entertainment was good (I particularly enjoyed the River Rats band in Rivertown - made the theming seem even more authentic), but PKI pretty much left guests to discover this entertainment on their own and provided little additional information about the entertainment, even to employees. CoastersNSich
The three days of Nights of Fire were surprising to me as well, especially when I entered the park on the 2nd, and saw guests on the top deck of the Eiffel Tower, even as signs said that the tower would be closed on the three days. Also, the coasters that they were to close at 8 pm, actually closed at 9pm, and most actually reopened for an hour or so (except for The Beast). The tower itself also reopened. I thought the show was weak compared to previous years, but not bad. The cool lighting on the tower was neat. Why don't they do this every night when it gets dark? BoddaH1994
I thought the lighitng effects on the tower were amazing. It was a welcomed change in my book. My personal preferance would have been a combination off lights and fireworks. Perhaps next year when the paint begins to fade again they'll switch back. As far as the entertainment goes, they handed out pamphlets upon enterting the parking gate that had a schedule of events for the day. That's where I got the information for the front page artle that I did last weekend. I thought the park was really alive for the weekend and I wish they could do stuff like that more often. Yeah, It adds to "The Best in hollywood entertainment!" theme.
Gordon Bombay
Speaking of hollywood theme, I think it be great if PKI put in some of those lights you know that they have at movie premires that move left and right and criss cross eachother around the eifel tower or the park entrance. BoddaH1994
Several years ago, PKI had a similar lighting structure on the tower for Fearfest that morphed between different eerie colors. Hopefully they'll do somthing like that again.
PKI_Diana
I like this year's better. But that is only because my life was 500 times easier, without having just one ride for a week, no disgruntled employees and such. And I had the added priviledge of being one of the 150 who got to see the fireworks from the Tower (as well as look down on a crowd of over 30,00 people from the top- it was a tearful moment), and on the next night, I saw the awesome lighting display. I only wish I had had my camera.
