Somehow I don't think a robocoaster would be too kid friendly. I mean the thing flips and rotates as it travels along seems like it would be a super intense ride no matter how old you are; it would probably scare the kids to death.

Also, to add a possible ride for the Danny Phantom what about the Huss Fly Away, I don't know if it would be too intense for kids or not but I'm pretty sure the older kids and parents would enjoy it. I know lots of kids who although small, would be willing to ride anything that they're able to. Also under more info Huss says the ride is suitable for kids, teens, and adults, so it is possible.

Ok, I was just looking to see what this Avatar is because I've never heard of it. It looks like Nickelodeon's attempt at Japanese Anime? The show itself looked absolutely horrible so hopefuly the rollercoaster itself is fun for all ages and I'd even be happy if Paramount skimpped on the themeing for this ride. Why in the world did they chose Avatar for the biggest attraction when barely anyone has even heard of it?

For that exact reason...

The whole point of media companies owning theme parks is to create synergy between the media properties and the theme park attractions. Usually a well known media property is used to bring people to an attraction. In this case, they may be using the attraction to bring people to the media.

And, it may be working. I'd never heard of the cartoon either, but watched it last night when I saw it on the cable guide, just because the announced attraction made me curious about it. (And, I agree with your review of it 100%! biggrin.gif )

Wow that Fly Away thing is awesome! I would much rather have that than a Kite flyer. And its HUSS!!! wub.gif

Trust me, NO you wouldn't! Have you ever ridden one? I rode the prototype at IAAPA about 6 years ago where it made its debut. I've also ridden the one at SFNE. Unless HUSS has changed the restraint system, these things are perhaps the two MOST uncomfortable things I've EVER ridden. Picture the restraints on the older Top Spins and how they continue to press down HARDER on your stomach throughout the ride. Ok, now take that same system, except imagine that thing pressing down into your lower back like that. It wasn't pleasant. Cool concept by HUSS. but very poorly executed IMHO.

It's very popular with the kiddies it's the number #4 rated cartoon on Nick.

While they are still probably working oout some theming details, I am sure that they know who the manufacturer of the new roller coaster will be. The real reason why I believe they are releaseing all the details after Winterfest, is to have an announcement in January to get people interested in the new expansion and get people to buy passes in the winter months. With the announcemnt this week, they are getting peopple to buy passes before the end of the operating season. Essentially, they are making two announcements about the same thing to get their name out their among people that are interested in purchasing their passes. Like a two for the price of one type deal.

I agree entirely. I think Paramount Parks puts way too much thought into this stuff to have it just written off as a kiddy area. Just wait and see...

Correct We do know it could include some old favorites, rethemed and majorly moved around. But we can only wait till janurary for the answers we seek.

But the wait will be worth it. The way the media and such is making this expansion renovation reconstruction to be, is something like the midwest has never seen! it should be a blast .

My one worry the preschool neighborhood hope they do keep rides for the littlest ones, and Hope the spongebob ride/walk is some kind of RIDE for sure, also

and this should be the best Kids Zone around!

Thanks happy to hear you all agree with my view the thing is I think that spongebob attraction has more to it than meets the eye....more than PKI is telling us.

Do any of you or your kids like Avatar ? My baby boy hates Avatar but adores Spongebob,Fairly Oddparents,Danny Phantom,Dora and Blues Clues.

Also new in 2006! The young and the young at heart will be able to explore the wonderful underwater world of SpongeBob SquarePants, Bikini Bottom, and all the delightful characters that inhabit it. While there, kids won't want to miss a chance to meet their favorite yellow sponge inside his signature pinapple house or his grumpy neighbor, Squidward, inside his Easter Island head. SpongeBob's best friend, Patrick, can also be seen right outside his rock waiting to share hugs with the little ones! So parents get out that camera and be ready to capture all the magical moments, sights, and sounds you may encounter during you stay in Bikini Bottom! If all this excitement works up an appetite, guests can satisfy their hunger with a delicious, mouthwatering Kraby Patty at the Krusty Krab Snack Shack or kids can go right across the street to the Chumbucket, where they can enjoy a free-fall ride in the hopes to escape the menacing wrath of Plankton, SpongeBob's nemesis. Want more thrill with that? Well then head on down to Mrs. Puff's Boating School and climb aboard a boatmobile with SpongeBob behind the wheel and...how about that for an idea?

I really hope that's what the area will end up like next year!

^Avatar's alright. Our opinions don't matter anyways though as it's the kids' that do, and the kids really like it wink.gif IMO, Avatar can make a neat coaster if done right.

I read on coasterbuzz forums what a person was talking about the new area what they thought. This kind of family fun is what brings in the BUCKS! Familys spend money food shopping ect. Yes a new world class record breaking coaster would have been better for me....but this addition will have me taking a family of 5 and instead of a one day mega drive and ride from Chicago costing me a couple of hunded buck it will turn into a $800 family weekend...PKI will get my money next year..... I agree very much with this person we could get another coaster after we bring in the bucks and attract more familys from the local area and all over the country here. That would get us a lot of attention in the country.
