Robert_Waring
I see that my kids favorite ride Son of Beast is closed for the season, and they're not too happy about that. It's definately a deciding factor on whether we pay to come over for Fearfest. It's a 2+ hr drive for us to visit, so I was wondering if anybody could tell me what other rides are closed during Fearfest? Also, I updated my Flashback gallery with some new features, and some new photos.
FOF/Z 4-ever
As far as I know, just SOB and Scrambler. But I could be wrong. I get my info from my good park friends
flightoffear1996
Well any ride could be closed at any given time but all the main rides will be open cept for of course Son of Beast and I belive that Hanna Barbara land closes at like 6 or so so the workers can shift and work fear fest. Airromeo4Ever
The Son of Beast is closed for a complete retracking and structural rework. Trust me your kids will enjoy and adore the Son of Beast even more when it reopens for the 2006 season. I know how they feel. Im a huge fan of Son of Beast too, and I plan to visit in a couple weekends. Airromeo4Ever !!!
StXsteven
Speaking of rides closed down... I finally rode Delirium after they closed it, how long was it closed down? Anyways does anyone agree, Delirium doesnt give that belly flop feeling now? it feels slower to me?
TopThrill
Hanna Barbara closes at 7. But by then the huge mob starts to form on the main street with the people coming in. It really make's a mess. With Delirium I can't say haven't been it on this year.
TheKlockster
Anyways does anyone agree, Delirium doesnt give that belly flop feeling now? it feels slower to me? Yes the ride is very much watered down from what it used to be. Also I don't think it does as many high swings as it used to. It does more swings - but I think it only does one BIG swing - and it is not as high as it used to be. Where at the top of the swing, you used to feel a floating sensation - now it goes up, the whole gondola wobbles, then it reverses direction. There is very little airtime feeling now, and the ride is very boring. I have only been on it once or twice since they "fixed" it and both times it was not thrilling whatsoever. I got off the ride wondering what I would ride next - Troika or Monster... Rides with REAL airtime and Thrills. And as far as rides that are closed - Son of Beast, White Water Canyon, Congo Falls and Scrambler are closed for the year. Then there are day to day changes too - like last Friday, Troika was closed. Then Green Slime Zone is some kind of walk through Halloween attraction.
flightoffear1996
Maybe it will take some time to get the new gears broken in.

Waring, theres a sign outside of SOB that says it will be closed for teh rest of the season to start rehab early due to winterfest, whether they are re-tracking it or not is speculation on here, remember kids half the s**t you read on these forums isnt true or remotely correct.
BoddaH1994
I doubt they'll retrack the whole thing. If I remember correctly, last year they retracked up to about the loop. It looks like they're doing it in sections, like beginning to end.
Reclaimer
So, is Delirium broken again?
Jasper
I do not like SOB so i am not really mad that it is closed but i am disapointed becuz i like to ride it at least once.
TheKlockster
I am disappointed I couldn't ride Son of Beast, but I guess it is for the better. It was really getting rough. I thought it was just me.
Robert_Waring
Thanks everybody. I'm gonna try and squeeze a visit in over the next few weeks. It costs a lot more to drive over there now with these insane gas prices..
flightoffear1996
I saw gas for 2.55 while I was there not bad if you ask me. Well it is still high but alot better than it was been anyway.
Gordon Bombay
Ill take 2.55 yesterday compared to the 2.75 on monday.

screamingnight
To me Delrium is a piece of s***. It breaks down half of the time. I hate SOB because it so rough and painful. The Beast is smooth and not painful. They should take down Delrium.
CoastersRZ
Yes, the Delirium ride cycle is now shorter. It only makes two swings at full height as opposed to the four or five that it used to make. I haven`t riden it with the new shorter cycle, but wonder why the park has decided to do this. Son of Beast will have some retracking done, although I highly doubt it will be a complete retracking.
Reclaimer
Perhaps the shorter cycle on Delirium is simply to help keep the ride up and running to finish out the season, without stressing any parts that are causing problems. If that's the case, we can hope that after some off-season rehab, our beloved frisbee will be in full swing next spring. *crosses fingers*
CoastersRZ
I hope that it returns to its normal mode of operation for next season. But you have to wonder. From what I have heard, the main gear was not supposed to develop a crack, especially this early in the ride`s life. Hopefully, what you suggested is true, and not the way the park intends to run the ride in the future to keep future parts from wearing oout in the years to come. Screamingnight, why would you want the park to take down Delirium? It is a fun ride (when it runs its normal cycle) and is positioned in an excellent location. It is one of the best flat rides in the park, now that the Eagles have flown on. But to each their own.
screamingnight
. I enjoy the ride but I ment to relocate it. Maybe right beside the FOF building so it can seem like when you are at the tallest point it will seem like you are going to hit the building when you come down. CoastersRZ
It is in a great spot right now, surrounded by midways on two sides. The benches outside the Festhaus that are in shade are always full of people watching the ride run. If people aren`t going to ride a ride, at least they can watch it run. Delirium is a fun ride to watch run for people who don`t want to tackle the ride itself. If they moved it over to FoF, sure there would be people still watching the ride, but it wouldn`t be in as prominant location as what it is now. Captain Nemo
Delirium does not fit in with any other location but Action Zone. It needs to be in an place people can see it, not where it is back behind FoF.
PKI Foodguy
Does anyone know how long Max Air's cycle is at CP? Is it the same as Delerium or longer/shorter?
screamingnight
Longer because I watched a video of it.
Braves0511
is it longer because you watched a video, or is it longer because the video is longer?
