BoddaH1994 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Maureen just e-mailed me with some very interesting news! A new product will be available in PKI stores this weeked. We're talking about Kings Island-opoly! It features silver game tokens which are a carousel horse, coaster car, star, director's clipboard, boomerang, and much more! This retails for the every day low price of $30! Make sure to check it out on your next visit to Winterfest! This is definitely something for any PKI fanatic! Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted December 2, 2005 Author Posted December 2, 2005 It's not JUST this weekend is it? No, it should AT LEASET be available through Winterfest. My guess is it will be available during the 06 season as well. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 O I want one so badly right now. Quote
CoastersNSich Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 If anyone's going this weekend, try to take a picture of the box (or a display demo, if available) and provide a link. I'd love to buy one for myself, either at WinterFest or next season. Quote
Legend Rider Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 that is really neat, however, I would like a trivial pursuit too... Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted December 2, 2005 Author Posted December 2, 2005 that is really neat, however, I would like a trivial pursuit too... PKI Trivia would be awesome! Unfortunately, only a few of us would be able to answer most of the questions, and if they dumbed it down, it wouldn't be too fun. Quote

Unfortunately, only a few of us would be able to answer most of the questions, and if they dumbed it down, it wouldn't be too fun. I remember playing the old trivial pursuit, and the only way you learned that history, was if you played it many times... and got the same cards all the time... you just get them... like Cranium... Like I say, a roller coaster trivial pursuit game, or a PKI TP game... which makes me think how funny it would be to TP a park... well, a bad park... like a Six Flags that has been run down... hmm... Reclaimer Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Here's hoping Kings Island-opoly is still around next season! I want one really bad, but am not sure if I'll be able to attend the 'Fest this year. Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I paid 25 bucks for my Scooby-Doo Monopoly set 30 bucks is kinda steep for me at least. Quote
coasterville Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 $30 seems about right for a custom board game, especially if its a limited exclusive. Any bets on what is taking the place of "Boardwalk" for a long time it would have ben, without a doubt, "The Beast", these days I'm not so sure. And what about "Jail", is that going to be "Caught Linejumping - go directly to Security" - I've already used my Winterfest ticket this year, so I too hope that they sell it this summer. I wonder if PKI has a service like Disney where they will take phone orders for gift shop items. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 You might be a PKI Addict if you... buy this! I had an idea like years ago. I gota get my hands on this! Quote
TheRickster Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Boardwalk will undoubtfully be the tower. But parkplace however... Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Does anyone want to buy me this I will give you 5 bucks for being the middle man. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Does anyone want to buy me this I will give you 5 bucks for being the middle man. It would be a great Holiday gift for a PKI fan!!! Quote
Skippy Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 I paid 25 bucks for my Scooby-Doo Monopoly set 30 bucks is kinda steep for me at least. Well I paid $40 for the exclusive Disney Theme Park Edition of Monopoly, but only $25 for the regular Disney Edition of Monopoly, so $30 sounds about right Also, I paid $30 for Cedar Point-opoly, so maybe their just trying to match the price of competion. From what I can see, the higher price comes with the theme park exclusivity, while the cheaper versions can all be store bought, and PKI is being very reasonably! Sorry if it seems like I'm picking on you Scoob! Anyways, I can't wait to get this but sadley I can't attend Winterfest and won't be able to pick up one this year I really wish PKI had an online store for all their merchandise like Cedar Point's marketplace. I wonder if they'll have any new Nick Universe attractions on this? Maybe this is how they'll announce 2006's plans j/k I'm really excited to see how this turns out but I can only see one problem with this: PKI adds so much attractions every year that they'll constantly have to update it. I'm dieing to see what kind of job PKI's done with this Can't wait! TheRickster, maybe the Eiffel Tower will act as hotels in this Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 What's Baltic Ave? Glass Blower? Quote

TraderJake Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Wow, I remember a mock up of PKI-opoly sitting in the Merchandise Buyer's office for at least two years, perhaps even longer. I am sort of surprised it took them 2 years to get this thing from concept to market, but then I am not the Merch Buyer, and I am sure there is a bunch of licensing issues that need to be solved. It was funny though, the concept board was just created on a computer, and then the printed sheets were taped to a Monopoly Board. I bet this thing will sell, it is a collector item and draws from many demographics, be it enthusiasts, Monopoly collectors, and people just looking for a a neat souveneir. Quote
Jasper Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I paid 30 for Cedar Point-opoly and do they sell them on the internet on their webpage? Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 Does anyone want to buy me this I will give you 5 bucks for being the middle man. It would be a great Holiday gift for a PKI fan!!! What is that supposed to mean? Quote
ZosoBeast Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 It means that if you buy it for him, he will pay you for it PLUS an extra $5 for helping him out. I HATE Monopoly, but I WILL be buying this! No doubt! Quote
PKIVortex Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I will be picking this up next Saturday for sure. Anyone know which shop it will be selling in? Thanks Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 It will certainly be interesting to see what attractions they have for the various spaces! I might buy this game, just for the sake of having the game. And it could add an exciting twist to the traditional Monopoly. I have played Cincinnati in a Box, the Cincinnati version of Monopoly. That game features several Cincinnati favorites, such as Parmount`s Kings Island, the Cincinnati Zoo, Coney Island, Aglamesies Bros. ice cream, Skyline Chili, and LaRosa`s among others. Quote
Skippy Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 I HATE Monopoly, but I WILL be buying this! No doubt! You don't even know how many Monopoly games I've bought just because it was from a park or something I like WAY too many, most of which will never be played! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Boardwalk will undoubtfully be the tower. But parkplace however... Boardwalk is actually undoubtfully The Beast. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Could you expect anything other than The Beast to be in the Boardwalk position? The Beast is what put Kings Island in the prime time as far as roller coasters go. That ride is still known across the country (Heck, it is still the longest roller coaster in the country, wood or steel). Quote
standbyme Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 So, do you think there's a Chance card that says something like this: "It's the end of the season, Son of Beast needs retracked again, pay $20,000" Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 LOL yea Im gettig this hopefully Saturday which is mostly the main reason Im going to go. Quote
