Reon
Told ya CF would buy out. Ofcourse it will be expensive now, but I got my season pass months ago;) Ofcourse even if this was a rumor, I dont see what other companies could do better. flightoffear1996
You got Busch and Universal that could do better.
Reon
Never been to a busch park, but I guess Universal would be nice...But I'm still rooting for CF. FEAR MY LOYALTY!
MrPKI
I completely agree with Skippy and ragerunner. CF would NOT be a good thing for PKI or any of the Paramount Parks. All the atmosphere that we know and love would be gone. Plus if Cedar Fair did purchase all 5 parks, they would have 12 parks. More parks means less attention to each park per year because of less money. I myself hope for a private company to buy PKI. That's my opinion anyway, I could be wrong about their money situation, but that's how it seems. On a more humorous note, can you imagine what CF would name PKI's more themed rides? TRTR = Cave: The Ride, IJ:ST = The Stunt Track, Top Gun = Crazy Airplane. j/k Seriously though, what would those rides become?
Reon
Well, they cant really unliscence Vortex or Beast, so that's all that really matters *protects Vortex*
flightoffear1996
It wouldnt mean anything because they would have more profit cause they would have more parks.
crazypkikid2005
honestly i in no way shape or form believe this......i mean Cedar Fair just cant fund something like this and they would suck as owner as well.
italianchef
Like I said before, I seriously doubt CF has the money for the parks. My guess is that (1) An investment company will buy the whole set of parks, or (2) the parks will be sold off individually to different concerns. We'll see. Have a great day! MrPKI
It wouldnt mean anything because they would have more profit cause they would have more parks. But they would also have to earn back the money they paid for the parks, which would definately take some time. I have to agree with many others though too, I doubt CF has the money for all of them. MrPKI
It seems to me that a company with 7 parks would'nt have the money to aquire 5 more and still be in the same finacial position. I could be wrong though, and they could have the money, it just seems highly unlikely to me.
RollerNut
Actually they have 10 parks, 7 amusement parks(some with water parks), and three waterparks.
MrPKI
Yeah I was just counting the 7 parks, I excluded the separate water parks from that count. There are two separate Knott's Soak Cities and the Castaway Bay, right?
Captain Picard
CF or anyone else will need their nuts screwed on tight in the finance part of it. I don't think the CF balance sheet is all that you need to factor in here. If the price of the parks is so high that they can't pay for themselves then they will not sell. If the money is not there for CF it wouldn't be there for anyone else.

PKIVortex
I'm not going to believe anything till I see something offical. All we know still that the parks are still up for sale. Who knows who would buy them. But I also to think that it will be some type of an investment group.
Kong-Fu-Guy
It is an amusement park as well as a theme park, not every ride/attraction has a theme. All they are doing is broadening the scope. THEMED AMUSEMENT PARK Nothing major there! WHEN THOSE UNTHEME RIDES ARE THE ONES BEFORE PARAMOUNT BOUGHT KING ISLAND. Kings Island IS A THEME PARK AND USE TO BE AN AMUSMENT PARK
Gordon Bombay
^Kong Fu Guy, your caps lock button is on, and no Kings Island is an amusement park with a handfull of themed rides. It is a themed amusent park and that title is up to debate as to what the future owners decide to do wtih the park. Kings Island under paramounts ownership has put in non-themed rides..........the biggest example........Delerium.
Captain Picard
CBS says Paramount Parks is a leading developer and operator of world-class theme parks. http://www.cbscorporation.com/our_company/...parks/index.php There is more themes there than most know. They just don't know it when they see it and they don't know it when they hear it.

Kong-Fu-Guy
YAY i knew pki was under paramunt ownership, some one on the thrid page say they were ownd by CBS, and cbs is on the side as paramount when the company spilt. Flight of Fear, TopGun, Face/off.
Gordon Bombay
^Flight of Fear is not themed to anything Paramount or CBS, once that was ture how it is not. Kings Island is an amusent park with some themed rides thats crrent goal under the paramount regime plans to keep installing most new rides to carry a paramount theme, in the past they have NOT always added a ride themed to a paramoutn entity. Your both right and wrong in calling it an amusent or theme park, its not completely either or, but you know what the best part is.......no one cares........its still an amusent park at heart consisting of rollercoasters and fun no one is losing sleep over whether its an official "THEME" or "AMUSEMENT" park, that is unless your a martial arts guy. CYoung2003
As far as you all and myself are concerned, it could be Six Flags, Cedar Fair, Dollywood, or freaking Hustler Hollywood buying the parks, we wont know until the day it's announced. Nobody on this thread knows, dont take anybodys word for anything when it comes to this topic. Like I said before, just wait for the announcement and in the meantime, dont worry! It will all be ok. Flight of Fear, TopGun, Face/off. Nope again. Paramount is on the Viacom side. When the old Viacom split up and Paramount Studios went one way (with the new Viacom) whilst Paramount Parks went the other (to CBS, as did the publishing company, tv and radio), it was obvious to many of us that the parks would soon be divested. As they are being...
