CEDAR POINT 07'

Featured Replies

Just to start the speculation here is a link to pics of Cedar Points Newest Attraction for 2007'!!

What could it be? Well honestly I personally think the Point needs a looping coaster! I could see them getting a Intamin Mega Looper and maybe go for the record with most inversions!

It could also be the AquaTrax Water Coaster Intamin designed! This would fit nicely in Frontier Town and it would be a nice replacement for White Water Landing!

Judging from the pics it looks like It is Intamin track!

Whats your thought???Cedar Point 2007!!

I can tell those pictures were taken behind the breakers express hotel. It

is difficult to tell what it could be since it is covered up. I will be staying there

may 21-23rd. I will try to see what they are,if there is more etc. smile.gif

It don't look like tracks to me but maybe a hint to what the next ride might be. They have a picture of a footer in the Cedar Point blog so we know what it is going to be huge what ever it is.

I doubt the item under the blue tarp has anything to do with the 2007 project- but like everyone else, I am just speculating.

Here is another pic of some of the new footers that have been added to the pond that the Swans used to be in.

Is the construction for a new coaster? Only a few people know (myself NOT being one of them). It was late in the season in 2002 when track showed up for TTD, and the ride was not announced until late winter (February?) of 2003. But construction for TTD actually started in 2001 with the removal of the dodgems. Chances are that it is a coaster just because of the time frame that construction has started, but it will be awhile before the ride officially announced.

I knew that I forgot something...

or it could just be repair track for another coaster in the park. But to me it looks like they are going to be building something massive in the future.

In the article posted on Point Buzz, that Browntggrr links to, it mentions Cedar Fair recently trademarked the name, "Maverick." An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become separated from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it. So whatever it is, it's sticking with the western theme. BTW, don't ask employees what it is, because they still think it's either a 600 ft coaster or a Dueling B&M Flyer...which it's not!

it's a trampoline.. that's all they can afford to add next year with Gas prices the way they are now.. biggrin.gif

I have to disagree... while this pic shows nothing but blue tarps, this is after a series of previous pictures, that showed RED, TRACK, underneath. These pix quickly disappeared of the net.... But this was seen by more than a few people... People claim it to be Intamin

This is just a guess and that is all it is but on Cedar Point's Blog I found this.

The sheer amount of comments submitted to OnPoint in the past few weeks regarding Project 2007 has been mind-boggling.

Something tells us you’re looking for more info.

We have some.

Well, we actually have it all.

However, we’re going to let you be the detective. As you visit the park this summer, put “two and two together,†so to speak.

See if you can figure it all out.

We have two rules:

1. We will not answer any questions regarding Project 2007.

2. If you see us on the midway this summer, bribing us with free food will not get us to spill the beans!

So, enjoy Skyhawk and the 2006 summer season (and take notes)!

We’ll wrap things up with a few words of wisdom: The path always taken is not necessarily the best.

The last line of the entery is what is making me think they are going to give the riders some kind of choice to pick from. So maybe its going to be one of those rotating tower roller coaster where guest on the vote and pick what path that want to pick.

From the photos of the footers I've seen. It looks like whatever is coming to Cedar Point could be massive in 2007. But why guess away the 2006 season. We will find out soon enough what Cedar Point has in store for 2007.

Hey we are aloud to guess.

Absolutely. Plus, CP wants people guessing and talking about it (otherwise the blog wouldn't exist). This way, they get to generate a lot of free publicity among the enthusiast community.

I may be crazy, but after a little creativity:

Note the position of the machine in the second and third pictures in relation to the placement of piece 2 and the angles at which the pictures were taken. I should also note that a few people on the Point Xtreme forums feel that the silhouette of the piece in the third picture was Photoshopped in. The only argument I can refute that with is the wind blowing the tarp very tightly against the piece, and the angle of the sun which puts the silhouette against the tarp.

Although I'm not a member at any other amusement park message board, if this was posted on PointBuzz, I know it'd get deleted.

Thanks to the people who took the original pictures (Walt from PointBuzz and Point Xtreme).

I don't buy the fact that it's a coaster quite yet. Or an Intamin one as someone mentioned in the other thread. We simply don't know and can't tell. Of course, if they are starting construction THIS early, expect something big Big BIG.

It does looks like it is red Intamin track in the new pictures. They are getting a new red coaster or they are adding track to one of the coasters they have.

Question I know this is off topic and sorry but I'm planning on taking my nephew to CP this summer with me and he loves snoopy now my question is...is snoopy and the peanuts still with CF? is their kiddie area anygood? thanks I havent been to CP in a long time my last visit was in the late 90s!

I am surprised that people still don't know what this new ride is going to be. It's going to be a water coaster of some type. In a previous article over at Pointbuzz, CP officials mention that the year that maXair was installed was originally going to be the year that they added a new water attraction. It was moved back a couple of years after officials at CP saw Delirium and how popular it is.

Snoopy and the peanuts are still with cp. They also have the snoopy ice skating

show in the good time theatre. The childrens area's are good. There is one by

the wicked twister coaster and another by the gemini coaster named camp

snoopy. Have a great time. smile.gif

I have to make a trip up to CP this year because i havent been up there since i was 9 and thats way to long to be away from a park that has some amazing rides

I will be going up at the end of the week and will try and see what I might be able to decipher.
