tubaman
So, now what is it going to be?
cincyboy0830
It's pathetic how CP is getting a new coaster, they are packed like sardines trying to build a coaster when they just bought 5 new parks with loads of space. Pathetic.
RingMaster
And it's also pathetic how Cedar Fair has five other parks they didn't just buy recently with loads of space (more like four if you want to get technical) for 200-300 foot B&M hypers that seem to be the new 'IT' trend this season. vortex31
I would say that new coaster was planned and ordered long before CF started the acquisition Of Paramount parks. CP will always be the top dog as far as the high dollar attractions go.

screamingnight
Is CP TRYING to tease us?
Browntggrr
Planning a coaster takes about three years. Paramount put the parks up for sale last year. And you are going to complain because CF is going ahead with their plan? I guess I don't understand what the complaint is really about. Jasper
Back to the coaster it looks like it is just going to be an intamin twister i guess is what you would call it. looks pretty cool.
The New England Snapper
I have heard from an inside source that it will feature 12 inversions!!!
KIBeast
In my opinion, it's going to be an aquatrax coaster. I truly believe that they are wanting to replace a water ride with another water ride. It was mentioned by Dick Kenzel a few years back when they bought maXair. The year maXair was installed, the original plan was to install a ride where White Water Landing was, but that plan was pushed back a couple of years. RailRider
They are surveying over by the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, if you have visted the park lately you would notice the crews over there and also the number of survey flags. Anyone find it strange they have started laying track so soon. I know winters on the lake are harsh, but they have not started a coaster this soon for a long time. Look at Millie and TTD and when they were started. Aquatrax, possibly, but CP is not much for theming which would be the most logical reasson for starting an Aquatrx so early. Look towards Port Adventura for answers. Cant wait for next seasson on the lake.
KIBeast
The track is similar to the one going in at Port Aventura. However, it has been highly discussed over at Pointbuzz and that option has pretty much been eliminated. The track is entirely too low for clearance. RailRider
Yes it does have low points, but if the passengers are locked in position either flying or sitting I still feel that there would be enough clearance. Atleast from everything I have seen so far. I think it is still very plausible for it to be more than an Intamin Twister, especially from what I have been told. RailRider
Update to the construction work going on at CP on Maverick. Heres an interesting photo from point buzz that shows track that seems designed to have LIM's attached to it. Maveric LIM Section
Reon
...LIMs? With all the new launch technology, I'm suprised they brought those back. Oh well, LIMs mean one big clue: AquaTrax is back in the game...
RailRider
Aquatrax going upside down? First Inversion Started Well so far we have a giant high speed banked turn, a great airtime ejector hill, LIM type track spotted, and an inversion almost completed. Anyone still pushing for the Aquatrax coaster? Remember this is some of the earliest construction CP has ever started laying track in recent history. Maverick will be coming soon... beastbreakdown
I have a feeling this thing will be massive, well long any ways (due to track assembly so soon) I also think this coaster will be a new type of coaster, because of all the weird aspects that everyone speaks of. Maybe that would be another reason for starting construction so soon, if it would be maybe a new prototype coaster they will have plenty of time to work the kinks out. -Chris
flightoffear1996
Yea that could be why or maybe they are just playing with everyones mind for fun and they are ging to tear it out and ship the coaster else where. LOL
RailRider
Maverick now has inversion number 2 almost completed and there is still a lot of track left to go up and the fact this thing has already been started. Start looking for some contstruction in other areas outside of the current construction site. Heres a great shot of the Cutback Inversion
Gordon Bombay
I was up there thursday and couldnt belive the massive amounts of track now sitting behind breakers and I saw the first inversion, very cool. I heard a different colored track was spotted?

I heard a different colored track was spotted? If a different color track was spotted, perhaps they are trying to throw us off. Perhaps the ride will be called The Leopard... --The Interpreter, running for his room
TheKlockster
Perhaps a 2 track dueling coaster? I heard the thing about the track also - and that the other track was green.
Kenban
Considering how early construction started I think a dueling coaster is very possible. Although its not unheard of to use two differant colors of track in a single coaster. Any pictures of the green track yet?

TheKlockster
Or maybe Def Leppard! I don't get why everyone is saying LIM track has been spotted.... There isn't anything up there that looks like LIM track.

UncleHenry
Weird, 9 days would make the announcement on the 7th. Funny, an employee at CP told me that would be the announcement day for Maverick. Funny, he also told me some other things, including some aspects of the ride. But whoops, I have to keep my mouth shut about the ride.
