What do you think will become of the Paramount Story area. Will the movie items stay were they are? Will CF trash all of the movie items and make the area a park setting? What is your take on this topic?

Realistically I think it will become a nice park setting! But if they were feeling adventurous they could make the worlds largest hop-scotch weaving through the path.

Cedar Fair might remove the movie References in the Paramount Story, but I`d venture to say that they will keep that area pretty much the way it is. Remember, before Paramount bought the park that area was called "Tower Gardens."

Call it gut instinct, but I have a feeling that the Paramount Story wont be around much longer. No source, just my gut instinct. The reason I say this is because to be honest, you really dont see thousands of people a day walk through there and look at all the props. Plus, that is kinda prime real estate for something (a large flat, or a couple of flats to be sure) so I think PT's days are numbered.

I think it would be really cool to turn it into a whole section of rollercoaster history. Like from Russian Bob Sleds to The Scenic Railway to The Revolution and so on.

Well, I certainly don`t see them turning that area into a history of the roller coaster section. But a couple nice flat rides could certainly work there. There are also a couple other large spots where flat rides could go, ie the former spot of the Salt Water Circus as well as the current spot of the EuroBungee.

Honestly the Paramount Story is such a nice relaxing garden setting, that I would hope CF doesn't remove it. Instead remove the movie props and stuff like that and make it more of a Kings Island history garden. I think that would be a very easy change and you would still keep a nice tranquil garden that is off the beaten path of the park.

I agree with you ^ RailRider; at present Kings Island has taken away so mush entertainment and it doesn’t leave a lot of areas for guest to find a nice relaxing area to get away to. The Gardens did just that, I found a lot of seniors like sitting by the International Street Fountains or at the Paramount Story Gardens (a little quieter).

Perhaps there is some hope that International Street can again become a beautiful and restful place to linger, lined with exquisite shops where the guests can buy unique things, while the park and the vendors make some much needed per caps.

What Paramount did to International Street, and particularly to its restaurant, has not been forgotten. I, for one, wish those changes would become only memories of things past.

There is not only money being left on the table, there is a grand opportunity on International Street to show what Cedar Fair intends to do with what was once inarguably the grandest theme park in the midwest.

I-Street was fabulous, but Paramount closed the resturaunt and made the shops very subpar. The best I-Street has looked under Paramount was at last years WinterFest. I honestly think Cedar Point has one of the nicest midways around and I think Cedar Fair will do a lot to revitalize KI's. I also think Cedar Fair will do a lot to revitalize Food Services at KI. Compare KI's dinning options to CP's. I think we will see changes like that. Atleast I hope so.

That is so true; my wife’s biggest complaint for the last couple of years is that the shops are mainly just selling Park related items. As ones who come often those items don’t appeal to us as much as other always changing specialty and unique items would. If they did go in that direction I can say with 100% certainty that our families per capita spending would go up at the parks.

Take for example the shops at the Busch Gardens parks, Islands of Adventure, and DollyWood; you can get some very unique things that you normally wouldnt find outside of the park, but are not necisarily park related.

Like I said the best I have seen I-Street under Paramount was during WinterFest last year, even the stores had some unique non park related items and guess what my wife and I did some shopping in the park for a change.

The thing that amazed me is how successful all the shops used to be on International Street. I would never think to make major and substantial purchases at Kings Island but many people did. The items that were brought in from around the world were often amazing.

I hope it stays I dont want it to go its very relaxing to walk or sit and rest up in paramount story.

I think that they should just leave it there and update it like every year and put the big blockbuster movies in it. It is a very nice area just to walk through and it is very peaceful in there.

CBS and Blockbuster didn't even put the more recent Paramount movie stones in, so why would Cedar Fair? Besides, if they limited new stones to Paramount blockbuster movies, there's probably room for about the next forty years!

Why would Cedar Fair want to keep an area that is an advertisement for Paramount. Especially the updating aspect, that costs money, why do you think Paramount stopped updating it. Cedar Fair in all reallity will slowly get rid of the Paramount theme, but keep Nick, over the next few years. I honestly hope like previously stated, that the Paramount Story becomes just a quite garden setting for park guests to go relax. Besides I-Street this is the best place to relax during a good hot crowded day at the park.

I like the Tower Gardens, but I think my favorite "relaxing" area of the park was the "foliage tunnel" that divided HB Land & Rivertown... When did it go away? It seems like one year I just realized it was gone, but am not sure how long it was gone before I realized it...

Yeah I remember that too. Very nice area except when the bees were out. Kinda swarmed it. Last for sure date I could put on it was the last year for the orginal WinterFest, because it was decorated with lights and all that good stuff. Good question as to when that was removed. Sounds like its trivia time.

That tunnel was kept, well half of it was, as an eating area for a food stand over by the Nick Universe area. Picnic tables were both outside and in part of it.

Interestingly, Carowinds has a long version of it, with a turn half way through to the "comfort stations." It was decorated very nicely for Winterfest last winter.

Well I can garentee that the tunnel lasted longer than 1992 or 3 because I remember as a child walking through it multiple times and I am pretty sure I wouldn't remember it as well as a 3 or 4 year old. I would say it came out probably '95 '96 but I am not sure.

That foliage tunnel dissapeared from PKI after the 1997 season. That is the year that PKI remodeled Hanna Barbera Land. Half of the tunnel still exists as a shading device for tables. Originally, the tunnel connected with Rivertown right across from the entrance to the restrooms and along side what was once used as an Antique Portrait shop.

I think the Paramount story would make a good scare zone/ haunted maze for Fear Fest even though it's too late for that this year.

I know that I was scared pretty much every momen that Paramount owned the parks.

Errrrr, I'm thinking you may not have meant that.
