Do you think that CF might reopen the International Restuarant. Currently they use the area for private functions and as a food preparation area for the food stands in the park.

I will be really surprised if CF does not add a sit-down restaurant to KI (and the other former Paramount Parks)--it's really needed. I hope that's something they're able to get done for the upcoming season. I've read here on several occassions that the IR would require some substantial modifications to come into compliance with current ADA guidelines. (I can't vouch for the accuracy of that information--but I've seen that posted here multiple times...)

Universal does a fantastic job with sit-down food service at both USF and IOA. Although, I think my favorite sit-down restaurant in a park is the Crown Colony at BGT...I love stting out on the second floor terrace eating lunch and watching the animals! :)

It's been rumored that this space may become a TGI Friday's for 2007. Yes, it would take a lot of renovation, including possibly a passenger elevator. The restaurant does have one elevator, but it is really for service/staff purposes, so they would have to put one in that can be accessed by the public, unless they were escorted/assisted by an employee to that service elevator.

But overall the one reason to renovate - the elegant passe decor. Guests want a place that looks somewhat "in" and looks reasonably priced - and I think Friday's would fit that need.

Id rather have Lone Star, Olive Garden, or Smokie Bones

Cedar Fair doesn't have a track record owning those franchises...they do at owning/operating Friday's franchises.

I'm a big fan of Famous Daves at the Cedar Point marina!

Im personaly more of a fan of resturants like Crown Colony Reserve or Coasters or Midway Market that are different than resturants outside the park. Kings Island needs a nice sit down resturant, but they dont need another chain resturant. Lets see they have Subway, Chik Fila, Skyline, Larosas, why not put a Mcdonalds in and you would basically have a nice selection of fast food resturants in the park.

Why would you want something inside the park that you can get every day of the week on the outside?

I so agree!! We actually look forward to going to new style of restaurant’s when we are on our trips. I think that they should but some sort of International type of restaurant in that space to reflect it’s name. Such as a international buffet, an Italian style restaurant complete with an Italian Chef or a Japanese steakhouse that cooks the food right in front of the guests as a form of entertainment.

Although we did make a suggestion to ourselves that maybe we should consider the Loose Moose Buffet at Great Wolf Lodge for a special unique dinner as their wide variety of choices where very tasty.

I would agree something more than just a plain everyday resturant should go in the place of the I-street resturant. Not another chain. Honestly I wish KI would get ride of some of their chain food stands. I prefer the blue ice cream and french fried potatoes soaked in vinegar any day over eating chik-fila or subway while Im at the park. Afterall the food is part of the expeirence.

from a nostalgia standpoint, I'd hate to see the TGI Friday's motif and graphics straddled across the front gate...

The thing I remember most about the IR was that they had a great French Dip! :-)

i agree that it should be anything besides a cookie cutter restaurant. if you ever noticed, applebee's, friday's,outback, ruby tuesdays, and on and on all have the same basic menu.

while were at it, how about a cafe on the Eiffel Tower?

Interesting, would possibly work if they opened up the lower platform. But I would imagine it would have some issues with just the few elevators running up and down to it. But interesting idea.

I ate in the International restaurant. I gotta say, as long as its something halfway decent, open it up!! What a waste of a beautiful place to let people eat and look at the nicest part of the park.

It is really neat to eat in a quiet, comfortable environment, but be able to see everything that is going on. You're distanced, but you have the views.

Exactly, it would be a shame to put a restaurant like TGI Friday or Applebees in the IR.

There just is nothing that makes any of those restaurants special or different from another one.

It was Cedar Fair who took the delightful restaurant out of the Cedar Point Marina, and put in a Famous Dave's.

I wouldn't hold my breath NOT expecting a Coasters, a TGIFridays, and probably, before you know it, a Radisson at Kings Island. To borrow a line from Woofer, and adapt it slightly: There just is nothing that makes any of those restaurants or hotels special or different from another one.

Also, what'll happen to all the KI memorabilia (sp?) within IR if a TGIFriday's or Applebee's is installed up there? They're not going to dispose of any of it, will they?

One has to wonder how long the main gate structure was intended to remain the same under the Paramount regime. I can't imagine Cedar Fair would pour much into renovating the place if it was/is intended to be replaced any time soon. . .
