Not cool...that ride is so fun! I think it was getting pretty old though...

I'm glad I got my chance to ride it last month. But it is old school, so it's understandable they are taking it out, but still sad.

I have a DVD with a huge behind the scenes of that ride, filming for the ride, special effects, building of the vechicles, building of the ride, concept, interaction with C. Lloyd etc. Awesome stuff. I bought the DVD at the last DeLorean convention.

I always wanted to get a Delorean, and put a flux-capacitor in the back seat. Maybe it's just the tuba player in me that makes me want to do that. I know I wouldn't be the first to do so, but I'd still like to.

^Tuba players are known for wanting to, or doing crazy things. Take the tuba closet at my school for example. We "collect" items for the closet from just about anywhere. Some items include a plastic toy pic, that was found in the hallway, expired license plates (that were aquired legally, from my cousins old car), signs from around the school, an elevator light cover, well, the list goes on and on. But I think it gives you an idea.

Have you ever read the books "The Beast" and "The Beast II" by R.L. Stine. You better believe that we're going to go back to Firelight Park this Year!!!

(For those of you that have not read The Beast by R.L Stine, the idea in the book is that several kids take a ride on The Beast and go back in time to "Firelight Park" the park that was supposidly where Kings Island was before Kings Island. Kinda goofy but an interesting read)

I read both book many years ago, I actually have both books around here somewhere. Pretty cool to have your home park wrote about, even if it is a fiction book.

This is actually kind of old news. I knew about this change back when I visited the park for Halloween Horror Nights.

Not really old, we didn't exactly no when the ride would be shut down, so the fact we have a date confirms when it will shut down.

my dad and I are making a trip to the park for spring break in about a week, too bad it will be gone

I was saddened by the fact they were pulling the plug on the ride. Thought The Simpsons stuff would be terrible, but honestly I like what they did with the area and theming it around The Simpsons TV series! When/if they change it again from Simpsons, I'm sure this process will start all over again.

This thread brings back memories. (in particular the members who posted in here prior to today)

The Simpsons are a main reason why I want to go to Universal Studios, that and a lot of my favorite movies are Universal.

YEa I loved the Simpsons ride. Thoguht it was funny and had great parodies for other parks. Can't wait to go back and see the whole area themed to them now.
