corn4ahead
I think they should remove the middle car on each train. Then they should paint the back car of the train a police car, and name the ride high speed pursuit or something like that.
The Interpreter
...as if capacity weren't enough of a problem now! Seriously, I wish they'd move the thing over to Action Zone, and restore the serenity of the park in the area where it is now. Who knows, a nice set of Flying Scooters and a turnpike ride might fit in nicely there.
BoddaH1994
I'd say get the thing working properly and then decide.

You'd destroy the artistic quality of the gravel!!!
westcoaster
No just call it the Cedar Fair chase by BMW: and its not going anywhere any time soon. Yes a antique or turnpike I do believe will return to Kings Island somewhere, and a flying scotter will return.
kikevin
I think they could just remove the Italian Job title, and call it Stunt Track.
hauntguy
I agree with just calling it "Stunt Track"... they've already did it to FoF! Then just remove the paramount references! -Hauntguy
The Interpreter
Uh.... No. Flight of Fear became just that when the ride's Outer Limits licensing ran out a few years back. CBS didn't even own the park yet at that point...
boricuabud
i'm not gonna lie, i was kiiinda bummed when Flight of Fear's name got changed. outer limits just sounded so sweet.
PKIVortex
Outer Limits was dropped I believe before even the end of 2000 season. If I'm not mistaken didn't they remove Outer Limits from the sign before the end of the season and stop using the pre-show before the end of 2000? I know in 2001 the new lap bars were on the trains and a new pre-show video well not new completely, just all of the OL references removed. The FoF sign was also new in 2001. Delirium13
I'd say get the thing working properly and then decide. :cough: fishtailing cars and stair effect :cough: I think it would look good right in Days of Thunder's spot, and if they put it there then they could get all those effects that they promised. UncleHenry
There is fishtailing, it's just too small to really notice. And for the stair effect, they do have the effect, but they don't use it (there is a good reason for this, trust me, you don't want that effect on, haha). kjkjkj
Uh.... No. Flight of Fear became just that when the ride's Outer Limits licensing ran out a few years back. CBS didn't even own the park yet at that point... I think what he was saying was, Its already been done to a ride befre so why not do it again. He never said that Cedar Fair had anything to do with at all! However i dont think that idea would work to well with Tomb Raider The Ride, it would just be " The Ride" lol
boricuabud
^ haha exactly. im still wondering what they are going to change TR TR to. There is so much heavy theming from the movie. are they just going to remove all the movie references? (IE- more than HALF the theming?)
PKIVortex
They could just remove the entire building, and it just be an outdoor Top Spin, but I doubt it very much they would do that, but stranger things have happened.
hauntguy
They would only have to change or get rid of the video and the vocal audio on the ride wouldn't they. The effects, sets, props, etc. really doesn't credit itself to Tomb Raider! So only a FEW things would need to be changed. -Hauntguy
PKIVortex
Well I don't know, some of the props were used in the movie, Paramount may or may not have something to say about that.
corn4ahead
Well I think they should just do retheming and reprogram the ride to do diiferent things than what it does now. Just for something different.
Shman
The effects, sets, props, etc. really doesn't credit itself to Tomb Raider! So only a FEW things would need to be changed. -Hauntguy You're kidding me right.......most of the sets/props were used IN the movie, how does that do anything but credit the movie. The shrine, the monkeys, the ride statue, all of it was used for the filming of the movie.
hauntguy
But they could be ANY shrine or monkey statues from "any" cave or forgotten temple. ALOT of people don't even know the whole Tomb Raider story or even about the movies. Believe me, very little would have to be changed to theme to a regular temple or tomb. I'm also talking about the ride itself... NOT any of the preshow stuff. The effects on the ride are so generic it could be anything.... Ice, lava, myan statue goddess? Seriously, if given the creativity... WHICH KI HAS.... they would have to do very little to drop the "tomb raider" theme. -Hauntguy
corn4ahead
That pre ride movie is a waste. I hate that you have to stand in line to watch that movie then wait some more to actually get on the ride.
The Interpreter
The thing that amazes me the most about that queue, given Cedar Fair's well known dedication to safety, is how dark it is. It truly is an accident just waiting to happen. They lightened up the inside of Flight of Fear's queue (for good or bad). Why is Tomb Raider's queue STILL so dark?
corn4ahead
Thats a really good question. I think there should be more light than that.
boricuabud
i dunno. are REAL tombs going to have lit pathways? its just more theming.. do you think anyone has REALLY gotten hurt in the line for that ride anyway? I mean cmon.. more than 99.9 percent of the time, you're just standing there waiting for the line to move again.
The Interpreter
Yes, I DO think so. Falls are the number one cause of injuries in amusement parks, and not from rides. Usually on midways or in queues.
corn4ahead
It wouldnt be such a problem if they didnt fall.
CoastersRZ
Well, I attended a lecture last week that was given by a Disney Imagineer. At the lecture he said something along these lines. If there is a safety issue on Main Street that results in an injury once out of every million guests, that may not seem like a lot. But consider that the Magic Kingdom attracts 15 million guests (average) each year and that those guests must walk down Mainstreet twice (once on their way in and once on their way out), that results in 30 injuries a year. That is 300 injuries in a decade. While it might not seem significant, it can add up. Granted, Kings Island doesn`t attract the same amount of people as what Disney parks do, but they still attract large volumes of people. The same situation applies, just with slightly smaller numbers.
