welchce
Let me say it again. The ride did not function properly with those seats filled. More than that I will not say. . . . That sounds very very shady. What ride doesn't work correctly with all the seats full? Isn't that how they test it before the grand opening? The Interpreter
Those seats were not loaded even on the ride's media day. There is a reason. . .

Young Gunz
Well, you know how it is.... you convert from the metric system.. forget to carry the 2.. don't compensate for atmospheric pressure and the magnetic polarity of Earth and then one side ends up weighing a lot more than the other.. PKIVortex
It had something to do with the weight of a full ride. It wouldn't run correctly. It was to much weight on the gondola.
corn4ahead
Did TRTR ever operate with the 3 flips at the end???
PKIVortex
I don't think so.
jondrewfoo
but then why so hush hush on the exact details of the ride not doing the third flip? i mean if it was its too much strain then who cares? i dont. it obviously may be part of it, but something doesnt add up... but apparently im beating a dead horse, as dont think it would be mentioned here if it is so hush hush. maybe im jsut starting some conspircay theory out of boredom... who knows? DeLorean Rider
Those seats were not loaded even on the ride's media day. There is a reason. . . Yes they were, the ride ran 77 seats untill full season 2004. I rode it many times in 02 and 03 and the ride ran 77 every time. Dont believe me? Watch video. teenageninja
i mean if it was its too much strain then who cares? i dont. If it is too much strain, that could lead the bolts to fail, which is the last thing I want to happen on TR:TR, that would be catastrophic. They are toying around with a lot of weight, especially if HUSS has came out and said there is a problem. The reason it is not full has been stated, I know that for a fact, I'm not saying what it was though.
DeLorean Rider
Tomb Raider has a very rich and vast history.
Cory Butcher
Thats a pretty cool video, had never seen that before. I can usually skip a ride on TR when Im at the park as well, Im not sure why other than, I have never comfortably ridden in the restraint system. I may need to ride it again this year sometime, since I havent in a while.
FOFirehawkFAN
I think if CF decides to not renew their licensing with Paramount movie titles (which they wont) Tomb Raider The Ride is doomed for removal from the park and will make its way to another park, and a "new" outdoor flat ride will take its place. kjkjkj
Has the sound during the ride not worked since June 11th? I went on it again yesterday, and there is still no sound!

While I'm a MUCH bigger advocate of returning the ride to its former glory rather than removing it, if they removed it it would free up a LOT of land for expanson. Not just where the ride sits, but behind it.
DeLorean Rider
Believe me when I say that there has in the past been serious consideration about removing Tomb Raider from its box and relocating it in the park as an outdoor topspin. Very Serious condieration, the only deturrent was, well what else, money. At the time it wasnt worth the money to try and move the ride so it stayed where it was and now sits. Like I said before, the problem with Tomb Raider is that topspins were never designed to "hit their marks" exactly. Normal topspins, aslong as they run within a certain degree of error, they're fine. What I mean is the program has points that the ride has to hit: brake releases, arm positions, brake closures; and on a normal topspin, as long as it gets close well its fine the ride just goes with it. This also accounts for how the rides can be run both empty and full. Tomb Raider, because not only does it hold more riders than a normal top spin causing the range of weight it has to throw around to be greater, but it also has to operate within a MUCH more precise margin of error than normal topspins because it has to sync up with the show...or former show. See, Kings Dominion was smart, they put their ride outside, and gave it a show that doesnt relate to exact points of the ride. At KI the ice field has to light up, exactly when the ride gets to the ice field, not early or later; at KD the fire just kind of goes off...whenever.
