  1. Yeah, it's actually crazy down here as people are actually stranded with NO Gas what so ever. I've never seen this type of thing. People are actually not able to make it into work as they can not find gas to put in their vehicles.
  2. OK Wondering if it's as bad in Ohio as it is in Georgia. The gas stations have been out of gas for over week now. When a station does get gas it's only one grade gas and the lines can run from one to two hours wait. I don't remember the lines being this bad in the 70's embargo. Wondering if Ohio is seeing anything like what we are experiencing down here.
  3. But I see your true colors shining through I see your true colors and that's why I love you so don't be afraid to let them show your true colors true colors are beautiful like a rainbow - Cyndi Lauper
  4. Almost all of us on this site are dorks in most eyes! Just you Beast. But you're our Dork. <G>
  5. Huh? An event held at the park and you're posting that the park does not have responsibility for it's direction? My guess is that had the record been broken, the post would have trumpeted the great success and how integral the park was in the event. Boddah, it's fine to be a cheerleader but ya gotta take the good with the bad.
  6. I can't believe ya'll are feeding the trolls. This kid is just hunting for attention. I refuse to even dignify this topic with a vote.
  7. I just noted the hate that was spewing from every other portion of the "so called" religious site.
  8. Lebanon? http://www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=257628 Separately, that URL is supposed to mean One News Now...but it could also be One New Snow! Could you find a more radical site?
  9. Oh, all cases involved will settle. The question is if it will be worked out prior to a decision coming down from the courts.
  10. Yeah, I would have to say that it's no longer a rumor with that press release. It's obvious that the park is placing less emphasis on Nickelodeon. Boddah, can you tell us what's going to be replacing NU and when it will be leaving?
  11. That's nothing new. It has primarily been a principal at almost every company that I've worked at. It's when a company moves away from that idea that it usually runs into issues.
  12. On the contrary, it's amazing just how accurate the "rumors" actually are in fact. Like my dad always says: There's always some employe or co worker who will spill the beans on the internet somewhere, you can count on that. Why some rumors turn out to be false is because people will morph, change, and evolve the at the time fact into a rumor. Sorta like a game of Telephone. You know what they say... Those that know talk ...... <G>

  14. Uhhhh, it's more than that. The release goes to the effort to mention "the best kid's area." When have you ever seen the park mention it's kids area without mentioning Hanna Barbera or Nickelodeon? I would go as far as to say in the several decades I've followed the park that I've never seen it referred to as just "the kid's area."
  15. Good Catch! Kings Island has the best kids' area in the world – voted No. 1 by Amusement Today readers No where do we see Nick or anything?!?!? Things that Make Ya Go Hmmmmmmm!
  16. And this is what the courts are going to look at and decide. Now may be the time to watch how this plays out.
  17. Just because the father is blind does not mean that he does not have control of his child. I've seen plenty sighted people that have little/no control over their children.
  18. Blind Man Denied Ride on Ferris Wheel The ignorance some folk display just amazes me some times. Ride operators said the rules apply to everyone and that Thurmond could have ridden with his son if his wife or another adult had gone along to make sure the little boy could not get out. Ahhhhhh, don't ya just love the smell of lawsuit in the morning......
  19. Sigh....... Where to begin. Well it's good that they're keeping the concept and characters, but why on Earth would they change the name from Plantation to Mansion? This is what happens when ya let Yankees make decisions.
  20. And some of us get regular updates on those life events. ... But WooferBear always gives ya some Congratulations ...... After some Ribbing! <G>
  21. Titanic, do you think that the park now would be able to handle being as busy as Festhaus and Columbia used to be? LOL, and if you got punished you were put on dishes at Columbia Palace! Oh Man! i'm And I started out working at Quickdraws. I worked as a Line Employee, Morning Person and Cashier Foreman. When I started at the carts, HB Cotton Candy & Bam Bam's had a Punch Register (not computerized) and HB Cotton Candy Ran Money Belts. I cleaned those old machines at HB Cotton Candy Many Times! When I was morning person, I'd get to the park - stop by Bam Bam's and turn on the Icee Machines and Hot Dog Grills. Go to Quick Draws and start the initial set up, then go back to wardrobe and pick up towls and my uniform. I'd stop by the cage and pick up money bags for the cashier foremen and on the way back to Quickdraws, get a brownie and Icee for my breakfast. <G>
  22. It was right up and until the year that Paramount discontinued it. Winterfest basically ran itself. Anyone that had worked at Winterfest can tell you what a laid back and enjoyable time it was working. No One Ever Complained about working. Everywhere could be staffed beyond your wildest dreams because even on slow days (and there were not a lot of slow days - in fact, gates had to be closed a few times) the revenue generated was fantastic. As I've said before, I don't know why Paramount had such an aversion for Winterfest. I'm thinking a key must have been that they wanted to put their stamp on the park, were not the biggest supporters of individual themed areas and wanted to concentrate on keeping the park open longer in the fall.
