  1. I may, but my albums are packed in the garage. I'll take a look this weekend.
  2. Sunlite Pool is one of the absolute gems of Cincinnati. I don't think I realized that the Zoom Floom was 31 years old. That means I was 9 years old when it opened.
  3. And not even to the public as a whole. There are just so many flaws in this type of thing. It's no secret that I completely detest popularity contests. I see no worth in the Golden Ticket Beauty Contest. What's with this obscene need to rank everything at a park as #1, #2, #3. Anyone that goes to a fair amount of parks should be able to point things out at any park that is to their liking. What a novel idea it would be to actually laud a park for advances and actual accomplishments. But really, that would not generate some of the funds that Amusement Today were really looking for. But hey, it is a business.
  4. Well, you know that Seuss Landing is just tossed together, ya know. <G>
  5. Purely political. Bought and paid for awards.
  6. Don't you mean to ask: 1) Why are parents bringing a 7 month old child to an amusement park? 2) Why knowing that the child has breathing problems? 3) Why in the August Texas Heat? So fill me in taynes how this one is on Six Flags?
  7. What is that from? South Park It's Sally Struthers as Jaba the Hutt or Pizza the Hutt (from Spaceballs)
  8. What about this competitor?
  9. You're going to have to explain to me why that is in poor taste. Is it not just the same as going to a book signing? Would you go to an author at a book signing without buying the book? You're kidding me, right? I have to explain to you how it is ok to take a picture of them together but you have to buy something ($30.00 in cash!) just so that you can step into the picture? They signed ANYTHING that you would give them to sign- that's cool. But to charge you for your own image is in bad taste when you can take the same picture (without you) for FREE!! Sounds like a nice balance if they were signing items for free. Remember these people have bills to pay, as well. I don't think their utility company is going to take payment in the form of "good wishes."
  10. Same hear jz. One of the cool things was that every portion was just filled with activity. You could see something new each time you went through. The amazing thing was that the individual figures had very little down time.
  11. Jenine has always been pretty. I would take Jenine over Carmen any day of the week. ..... Ya'll Can Quote WooferBear as Saying That <G>
  12. CNN Story Seems from this article that it had less to do with kids in the casino and to do more with CF and Hilton not coming to terms on a lease.
  13. Hmmm, they have three shows going on. One on the Bandstand, in fact.
  14. Really? Where exactly is that puddle at? Heading out the main gate and into the parking lot - off to the left. And didn't ya look pretty!

  16. Very nice trip report. And yes, that puddle has been there for years.
  17. Well Pre-Paramount, information was readily available to the employees that were down to the lowest level. The park considered it important to make sure everyone knew the costs involved. All budgets and projections were set by the end of February. It was part of an "ownership" attitude that the park wanted everyone to have. Interp has a theory about Paramount having wanted Winterfest to fail. I tend to agree with the assessment of the venture. I'm not certain what it was or why Paramount had such disdain for the event, but it's certain with the last result that CF will not likely try it any time soon.
  18. One of the best attractions ever at KI. Too bad they did not keep it around, it really could have become a signature attraction for them in the way that some of Disney's dark rides are today. That and Gulliver's Tubs. I think that those are the two best themed rides that the park has ever done.
  19. As the Snail Used to say: Have A Ha Happy Day!
  20. But it's still an improvement over the Paramount years. Remember, this is the first time in years that the park has emphasized the entertainment area. Hopefully, they will continue the efforts and get back to the Entertainment Department of old times. One of the first steps, though, should be a live band playing. That seems like such a basic? I agree, entertainment during the Paramount years was not good, and you would think that Paramount would have had some of the best entertainment around given their portfolio of movies, tv, and music. It really was inexcusable that Paramount did not have the best in entertainment. There is no reason that a company that was built on entertainment would decimate such an important department.

So, you can sing better than them? No, he complains a lot but brings nothing to the table. Myself, and most of the KIC community, have conditioned ourselves to simply ignore him. He actually is usually pretty well on in pointing things out. Those that would ignore such comments are bound not to learn from them. The difference is that I don't think that Six Flags has ever been known for entertainment. At one time; Carrowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island and Canada's Wonderland were known for live entertainment - and no one could touch them in quality.
  22. The stage looks really empty with no live band.
  23. Celebration had a portion of the show dedicated to "Singing in The Rain."
