  1. Best Show Ever at Kings Island = Celebration or Home for the Holidays (First Winterfest's)
  2. At one time, the rule was that a company had to guarantee a gate of 12K. Now granted, most park sell outs usually bring in more than 12K but that was the minimum.
  3. That's a matter of opinion....and that isn't mine. But White Castle does have great fries and shakes! How is it possible that you think that Krystal's come anywhere close to White Castle, Interp? Now I can understand the Gold Star v Skyline debate. ... but White Castle v Krystal? There simply is no comparaison. Ugh!
  4. Where is DeerHunter when you need him!
  5. The Disney Solution.... Slap plastic, fiberglass and Styrofoam on something ..... paint it .... and Call it Disney Magic. When you compare the parks to say Busch Gardens ... it just does not hold a candle. But then holding a candle to a Disney attraction could cause it to melt.
  6. Disney has some pretty good experience animals. Their largest theme park is dedicated to animals. And the only audioanimatronic figures there are of extinct/mythical animals. And the center piece of the park is? A fake tree made from an oil rig.
  7. Well, could be White Castles. Ohhhh, White Castles are Soooooo much better than Krystals. edit: And the park can reuse the tag line - Think Big, No Real Big! In fact, it seems that they already have even set: Krystal Square Off Qualifier in Jacksonville Date: 09/01/2008 Location: Jacksonville, FL Discipline: Krystal Burgers Total Prizes: Seat at the 2008 Krystal Square Off Finals - I wonder if the Jacksonville even fell through?
  8. Oh My Gawd! Just kill me now. To choose between an incredible chain of US theme parks being owned by a foreign entity and having Shamu become an audioanimatronic figure. It's a lose-lose situation!
  9. Major League Eating It's basically a celebration of Gluttony. Now that we've wiped out world hunger, it's cool that we can do that type of event.
  10. If you have any friends or family in Florida (specifically around Orlando), ask them where the discounts for HHN are. They should be able to snag ya cheap tickets, as well.
  11. Some thought it was Kool-Aid. .... And To Some It Was. <G>
  12. Pete Rose could do an ad for the event. Kings Island .... Something You Can Bet On. WooferBear ...... Always a Johnny Bench Fan.
  13. Correction, park that has been demolished.
  14. But it was a great Press Pack! WooferBear ... Who Still Thinks The Press Pack with the Snake Oil was a great idea.
  15. LOL It's actually not a t shirt. We're not allowed to wear t-shirts to work Interp!
  16. And actually, many people that attend the park on these company days only are able to attend on the company days. Not sure if PG still does it the way they did. It was always one of my favorite weekends to work. They'd do giant inflatables all over International Street and even bring in Nascars and park them in the park. They'd run all kinds of special awards and games and give out bags of products.
  17. It's ok.... Most of em aren't coming. <G>
  18. How funny. The only shirt that I have (and Avatar will probably appreciate) is for Disney's California.... Grizzly River Expedition. It's actually a nice enough shirt that I can wear to work.
  19. Nostalgia recognizing the Western Themed Area of the park?
  20. Tower, International Street (for the most part as the facades are very similar, Carousel, Monster, Shake Rattle & Roll, and on and on and on. Everything changes over time but I'd venture to say that someone that visited the park in 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2002 would certainly see the similarities.
  21. It is interesting that he left out the Cincinnati and Sandusky markets. I wonder, could it be that the guests in those markets have found other parks that are less expensive to attend, and allow more fun to be had? Since both Kings Island and Cedar Point apply trim brakes to their coasters to the point that they almost valley during the ride, and have obscenely high food and drink prices, maybe people are finally taking notice. I'm certain that people sit around and say, "let's not go to Cedar Point and Kings Island because of trim breaks." <G> I think that is absolutely the only reason I've NEVER heard anyone use for going or not going to a park.
  22. Well, the landlord should be understanding if the job fell through. The larger apartments usually have it written into the lease that if someone is transfered that they can break a lease. Having the job fall through would be a similar type situation. But, things happen for a reason and it's probably good that your buddies found out about all this prior to making the move.
  23. I had completely forgotten about MGM when it opened. That was horrible! Talk about a lot of nothing to do. Considering that when EPCOT opened, it was absolutely amazing from the start - MGM was equally a let down.
  24. I don't think RailRider was talking about that kind of parade!
