  1. What's wrong Woofer, being a former employee yourself, don't you think you have a chance to make it onto the walk of fame? No, I have taken my name out of any competition or contest that I have ever been entered into. I find this type of thing is far more destructive for moral than good. As I've said, I do not think that I am any better than anyone else, nor do I think that Carmen Electra is any more worthy of praise than the person sitting in the parking lot taking money. Work Your Way Up To Janeen Coyle or Carmen Electra? Please explain to my why that is more to aspire to than anyone else? And for a second time, no I would not participate and I do not consider a popularity contest to be an honor. I'm not sure why? After all, there is Janeen Coyle and Carmen Electra to honor! Priorities My Man! Kings Island's Own Version of Little Miss Sunshine!
  2. I fail to see the importance of placing someones name on a plaque or into stone, simply because they are popular. In order to make a venture like Kings Island successful, it takes all the efforts of every employee. Whether you work in the front office, or food, or rides, or the paint shop, or where ever - each are important. As I've said before, I see no value in popularity contests.
  3. Having never been a fan of popularity contests, I just have to ask why are they doing this?
  4. Well honestly, records could have been broken those nights. The park had never been open on those nights in the parks history. So essentially, every day was a record. And look at it this way - those records are likely to stand well into the future. <It's all how you look at things.>
  5. It's actually a psychological thing. When someone is being abused or neglected, they will act out to achieve control and power. To take the actions of abusing and killing an animal is seen as a way of ultimate control when they have so little or no control in other areas of their lives. It's the same with setting and starting fires. By lighting a fire and watching it burn, the abused sees the action as mastery over his/her environment. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not condoning the action. I'm a strong believer that actions have consequences. But, explaining that there is often more below the surface than is presented.
  6. The fact is that many/most that abuse animals and start fires have been abused or are being abused. Many moons ago, when I worked at Children's Services, that used to be an area we evaluated when we were determining if abuse and neglect had taken place. Just a side note.
  7. Ohhhh, I really should have believed ya. That is sad. I think the brat probably needs to do a couple years community service with the SPCA.
  8. Yup The Zoom Floom came long before the day and age of "Water Parks." I bet that you could make a strong argument that building the Zoom Floom helped lead to the advent of such parks.
  9. Well Celbel, all I can say is hang around long enough and you can find out pretty much all information long before the park releases it. Most of us are respectful enough to not use the forum or send through the forums private message system. <But text messages, yahoo and AIM are wonderful little things!>
  10. Well you know the saying... Those that Know Talk And Those that Don't Know Talk as well.
  11. I really don't think that it's an over estimation to say that Celebration was the best show ever produced by any amusement park. I really can't even see Disney touching it in staging or in it's creativity. If they re-created the production (even today) it would stand the test of time.
  12. I'd have to agree. Very nice trip report and photos. So, anything interesting in the food offerings?
  13. If that's true, how come we received essentially all details on Diamondback last November from Screamscape and other sources?
  14. If it was six years ago then there might be a really good reason you did not right the Tower of Terror. It opened in 2004 so its only 4 years old currently. Ok. I am obviously not remembering when I went. I am definately sure that Tower of Terror was there so it must have been the first year it was there. Man, I already am forgetting things. Maybe you just dreamed it?
  15. Are they tearing Zoom Flume down? I think that's the first flume that I ever road!
  16. Well, since it's in the Western Themed area of the park, they could do a Chuck Wagon and camp out be the evening before.
  17. I would not recommend sleeping at WalMart or Home Depot. There are far too many car vandalisms and the thefts from those two stores for that to be considered safe. I would not have any issue sleeping in the parking lot of a hotel and have actually napped in those locations a couple times.
  18. Maybe not crazy. Crazy tends to have such a negative conotation. Suffering a psychosis, yes, but not crazy.
  19. Well in that case, I also went to California Adventure. They're two separate park with two separate admissions. You didn't remember going to two completely separate parks?
  20. Or if those funds could be donated to a food bank?
  21. I think that we were talking ghosts? not nightmares? I don't remember mentioning either Barbara Colnar nor Mr. Lindner... And with that, I'm running for the door....exit...stage left! Actually, I got along well with Mr. Lindner. I had only run into him a couple times. Each time he was very attentive to everyone that worked at the park and to the guests.
