  1. Loving all the upgrades! Here's hoping the restrooms are getting some love too.
  2. Sounds like they are really trying to address some of the maintenance/beautification issues around the park, which is great to see.
  3. Flight of Fear turning 20 is suddenly making me feel very old.
  4. There may be some sort of advantage to having a single rail track in terms of cost or ability to have new design elements...but that is hideously ugly. A full coaster made with that would look rediculous.
  5. ^Thats my story with Lost Coaster at Indiana Beach. Still have yet to ride that darn thing. I think Valravn looks great and will be a huge hit next year. Hopefully they keep a webcam pointed at the construction site this fall.
  6. Given this rides proximity to Millie and Dragster I would think that they received similar responses during the construction of those rides.
  7. These all look like well thought out additions to me. The flat ride packages all look nice, Great Escape got something, Joker looks phenomenal, all in all it looks like a solid year for Six Flags.
  8. I have high hopes that this will be a positive step for Indiana Beach. There is so much potential in that park, it just needs the right people to come along and get things back on track.
  9. Can't wait to read this! Looks like that had to be a fun trip!
  10. A pretty interesting read. Including that KI will not be seeing a front gate coaster in the foreseeable future. http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-coasters-20150827-story.html
  11. Looks like the rumors have SFOG and SFGAm getting Justice League dark rides, SFDK getting an RMCC makeover of Roar (though that's more or less confirmed), and SFGAd getting an S&S 4-D coaster.
  12. ^I would doubt it but it can't hurt to ask. It may be beneficial to call the park first so you know what to expect when you get there.
  13. Pretty much seems to echo what everyone was saying before about the cause.
  14. I would try Diamondback and Banshee (rows 4 and 5 on Banshee have slightly larger belts for bigger riders) as those are probably the most forgiving rides coaster wise. The Bat is also fairly forgiving for larger riders. Drop Tower is probably the one ride I can say for certain you will not fit on currently. Good luck on your weight loss journey! I know it is not an easy one!
  15. ^That trademark is currently suspended.
  16. Actually the release is titled "Cedar Point Analyst Day" but it could certainly be a typo on their end. Edit: Or is most likely what dtk1378 said below.
  17. I'm not 100% sure what all Cedar Point Analyst Day entailed but the release from Cedar Fair offered some interesting insights into future capital investments. Particularly that: -There are major coasters planned each year through 2020 (no surprise there) -"Coaster Re-Work" Projects for 2016-2018 -Mid-size Thrill Rides for 2016-2017 & 2019-2020 -Interactive Dark Rides for 2016-2019 -Water Park additions for 2016-2019 -Kids/Tweens attractions for 2016-2020 -Perhaps most interestingly "Accommodations" planned for 2017 & 2019. -Ride Removals for 2016-2018. I highly suggest reading through the whole document. The oft talked about pie chart breaking down park by park revenues and EBITDA is also present. **************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Obviously lots will change between now and 2020 but if we use this as a baseline for what to expect the next few years it looks like the trend of one giant project each year with a couple mid-size projects is going to be the norm. With CW and Knott's already having interactive dark rides and 4 more being planned I think it is safe to say that both CP and KI will be receiving one over this period. It will also be interesting to see what exactly the accommodation expenditures will be. It would appear that the rumors of a Carowinds on-site hotel may have some legs here.
  18. ^To keep certain clientele that may not live up to the parks family values image from congregating there in the later hours of the day, staffing/maintenance costs, etc. Thanks for sharing your experience, apparently Thunderbird has been quite the draw! Beautiful dog btw!
  19. Personally... 1) Diamondback 2) Banshee 3) Flight of Fear 4) Beast 5) The Bat 6) Racer 7) Vortex 8) Firehawk 9) Backlot Stunt Coaster 10) Adventure Express 11) Woodstock Express 12) Flying Ace 13) Great Pumpkin Coaster 14) Invertigo And based on the 2014 Kasnak Coaster Poll (shameless plug)... 1) Diamondback 2) Beast 3) Banshee 4) Flight of Fear 5) Firehawk 6) The Bat 7) Vortex 8) Racer 9) Invertigo 10) Adventure Express 11) Backlot Stunt Coaster 12) Flying Ace 13) Woodstock Express 14) Great Pumpkin Coaster
  20. I really like the layout of the ride. It looks like it should easily be one of the best Dive Machines out there. The only thing that seems odd is the park that it is going to. I'm sure it will be a monstrous hit at CP, but it seems like it would have possibly been a more effective addition as the centerpiece of Vallyfair's expansion plans or even as KD's next big investment. It feels like in 3-5 years it will be 'just another coaster' at CP whereas it could have been THE coaster somewhere else.
  21. Has it been confirmed that it is I-Box? I get why people think that from the animation but it looks like topper track from the off ride videos. Plus this would be the first I-Box coaster to be advertised as wooden wouldn't it?
