  1. Or why not make it free, advertise that it's air conditioned and give people a glimpse of what they can see at Dinosaurs Alive? Promote the attraction through a free movie.

  2. I don't think the dinosaurs were manufactured to work constantly...the majority of them are activated by pushing a button...and even then only after so much time elapses between activity. If my nephews are the rule of thumb, part of the "thrill" of DA is pushing the buttons to make the dinosaurs come to life...if it were not an upcharge it would be way to crowded for most of the kids to get a chance to push the buttons. (Much like one kid will monopolize one of the firehose type sprayers in Boomerang Bay.) I also think it is an upcharge to cut down on the likelihood of vandalism...if eveyone who was just bored could wander through I think the odds are greater that the dinosaurs would be "messed with". A lighter crowd means that the park can have less security.

  11. I would like to know how this cover was done...it certainly looks like someone cut everything out to create this...but that Eiffel Tower would have been a nightmare. The Vortex logo is definately a product of it's time period...not that there's anything wrong with that. I wonder what that Kings Island rainbow thingy that the little girl is holding...I want one! So why haven't I seen that guy's black cat costume ever come out during Halloween Haunt?!! It is definately scarier than a lot of the costumes they have used. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  13. speaking of the monorail images from yesterday. I saw a truck with two of the cars on it on the I-275 ramp this morning at Rt. 747. They looked to be in like-new condition. I would have thought that they were headed to Jungle Jims... but they were on the "wrong" ramp... headed the wrong way. Anyone know what that might be from?

  14. 2011 for me too, I think I like the grown trees better. But in the 2011 photo, I see a lot of people running into the park, so it looks like it's gonna be a crowded day ! Great job and keep it up!

  15. JD, this is the best thread I have ever seen on this site, and I thank you. I miss the animal safari with a passion; it was a place you could go and unwind and reconnect with nature for a bit. Those places are becoming harder to find everywhere, not just at the park. I know at KI's younger years the park had a relaxing feel to it with the landscaping and now it just feels crowded and stressed. I know things change but I didn't realize how much I missed some of the defunct areas.
