  1. Why does everyone on this board think they know everything? All we know is KI removed the BIGGEST failure in amusement park history this past year and construction has started in the area where SOB used to stand. There is absolutely no way ANYONE can tell what manufacturer, let alone the type of coaster that is being built, by the shape of 8 footers on the ground. By the amount of guesses on this board I can guarantee that someone is remotely close to being right. that doesn't mean they knew it all along it just means we have guessed almost everything that could be built in that area. Lets try this... Instead of acting like we know everything let us relax, take in some teasers, and enjoy the fact that the park is getting something new.

  4. The key word is speculate. So many people here are passing their OPINIONS off as FACT, its frustrating. Is it fun to dream and wonder what is coming next? The answer is yes. But is it fun listening to people (almost everyone on this board) try and say they know exactly what is going into KI based off of a couple of footers? That answer is no. Again relax and watch what goes on. Speculate if you want, share your opinions, but dont try to be a know it all. Because we all are in the same boat, we all have no idea what is being built there. This should be an exciting ride! (Pun intended)

  5. I can only think of 1, and that would be KC. Which one was repainted? Runaway Reptar had green on it... Sorry wasn't thinking Planet Snoopy/Nick. LOL Heck - I still think Hanna-Barbera Land! (or as my children used to call it, after not listening very closely, Hannah Montana Land)

  7. As a former journalist. If you cant show your sources, then it cant be believed. Covering your source, for legal reasons is one thing. But that usually does not carry any weight. When a source is named, then its believable. Plus a source that leaks info is either not a good source or is trying to gain something. I do not want to get my source fired. I think that is a good reason to not disclose. Then he shouldn't have told you in the first place. It was irresponsible for him to tell you and it is irresponsible for you to be leaking the information onto the Internet.

  9. Because in order to claim hearing something from a reliable source one MUST cite that source or else that post is useless. Those who talk, don't know and those that know, don't talk. If you do know, hopefully your "source" knows to no longer trust you.

  13. I heard from a dependable source the ride is a b&M giga but my post was deleted. I am guessing the dippin' dots guy, correct?

  14. You've done this before. Please know a link is MUCH easier. Those of us on mobile phones or iPads do not get post numbers. To see your numbered post requires starting at the end of the thread, paging all the way back to the beginning, then counting forward. Those on metered data plans even get the potential of paying extra for the experience. Please don't refer to posts by number, just post a link.

  15. The plot thickens... Do you suppose all B&M track pieces are originally given an X-Works sticker that is then covered by a more specific one? EDIT: kblanken cleared it up.

  23. So what your saying is there are neurotic people with no life on here with nothing better to do then whine and complain? What he is saying is respect of other posters is needed. As a former journalist. If you cant show your sources, then it cant be believed. Covering your source, for legal reasons is one thing. But that usually does not carry any weight. I think that is a good reason to not disclose. If you don't want to get your source fired, the answer is simple: Don't post anything that you can't provide a source for. If your source could get fired for your disclosure of "information" then you shouldn't post the "inside information" or any information that you may know. Unfortunately, if you can't disclose who your source is, you have 0 credibility on any "inside info" that you post here.

  26. I can't remember if anyone said this, I know I didn't but......Protein Spills! I remember once in 2010 while working on Diamondback, we had a full train come back into the station, with someone who by sight you could tell was sick, upon further inspection, we saw that they got sick! We had to let the guests off the ride, two of our ride ops cleaned the train while I ran out to the main brakes where the middle train was. As I started talking to the guests, giving them an update of why they were stopped for a period of time, I headed from the front of the train toward the back. Once I was about halfway back, someone raised their hand and asked when they'd be getting off, they weren't feeling good. No sooner did I start walking toward them, they leaned over and gave the ride another protein spill. I let them know they'd be in the station shortly before heading back to the station. Once back in the station, I made my supervisor aware of the issue on that train. We started the cycle with an empty train leaving the station to dry off from the water, chemicals, etc. and brought the next train in. We repeated the same process as before. Thankfully, when I went out to the train on the main brake, no one protein spilled. We sent that train out and ran a 1 train op after that for at least 15-20 minutes to make sure the ride wouldn't pass any illness from the protein spills. Either way, it was gross.

  27. One more thing we can rule out is Kings Island adding a wooden roller coaster that tops out at a height over 200 ft..... But they'd never do anything like that anyway.....

Let's be a little clearer: The Terms of Service require that when posting any information claiming to be from a inside source, you must include the name of the source. Period. There is presumably a specific reason for this requirement. You have stated the information, now please name the source as required by the TOS or retract the information so we can move on. Otherwise, I may ask the moderators to take action.[/rant]

  30. Second day in the park in a row, wow my feet are sore. Took some more pics of the construction site. Seems to be more work going on at the back of AE. Unfortunately there isn't any good way to take pictures of that without being illegal. enjoy, DBI

  31. I remembered reading something about this before...they pretty much say that the stickers will not tell us anything: http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2008/12/scott-carol-present.html "We did have to change the bar code stickers because some coaster enthusiasts started taking pictures of them and posting them on the internet before the park had made their announcement. No more identifying information is on the bar codes"

  37. For people new to KIC: (or anyone who wants to read it) I've seen a lot of new faces on KIC here recently so I thought i would put this together. If you are getting upset with the replies your getting to what you've been saying. Don't worry. The community just kind of gives everyone a hard time that is new to the forum. You must earn the communities trust, it's not that hard here is a couple things that will help get you going. 1. Don't say anything like you know what's going in for 2014, unless you have a true source and can prove it then go right ahead. (No i'm not trying to come across mean either) 2.Put a little time into your posts before you post them, we have a few grammar police that just might go banana's on you. Make sure most/everything you type that needs capitalized, is. 3. It might take a few months for the community to know who you are and ounce that happens, they tend to be a lot nicer and you will get more likes and such. 4. Don't start a "war" with another KIC member. 5. most importantly, have fun! Be yourself! Get to know your fellow KIC members, they may seem mean or scary (cough Terpy cough ) but their all a nice bunch of people! Any questions about stuff don't be scared to talk to another KIC member, were glad to help! In other news, when was track being brought in for DB?

  41. not that it would happen, but I think it would cool if the new(potential) coaster would be a giga that takes title of worlds longest steel coaster from Steel Dragon. You would have the longest steel and wooden coasters in the same park.

  44. Potato Works shares almost nothing with French Fries other than being potatoes fried. The potatoes are cut much, much thicker and the texture is more like slightly crunchy baked potato. In all my travels, I've never encountered anything else quite like them. Especially when hot, they are delightful. That stand has to generate huge profits for the park. And now there are two.
