Totally off topic but I feel the need to say this. Keep Brad (IndyGuy4KI) in your thoughts and prayers. He is in the ER after having another seizure... 2nd one in 6 weeks. Those who don't know him personally should bc he is really nice and cool... The Earth is the proper name of a planet, and thus should always be capitalized.14 points

That new sign is amazing, and this whole structure of coaster, sign, station and theming is a work of art. Many, many props to everyone who had anything to do with this ride coming together. I have only been to 3 Cedar Fair Parks but I think this has to be the best looking ride in any of their parks. I hope that this kind of detail is brought to every project that is put together in the future of Cedar Fair.11 points

@KIGMGREG: Walkway into the queue being poured this morning. No sign of Eve (our Banshee) yet. #KIBanshee http://t.co/JUVkCxgBQr Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk11 points

Indeed. Be Banshee wonderful or blah in your opinion, posting that here before Media Day may end any association with Cedar Fair. Posting the latter could end it any day of the season.10 points

It's usually at the discretion of the employee to tell but usually before the season starts, especially on a season when a major new ride is coming in, it's best to keep quiet until the season starts. Last season I got a friendly reminder from a fellow employee and a KICer after I said something really dumb about the construction fence I saw on training day to not discuss park matters before the park opened. Just be smart about what you say on here and you should be golden. On the same note. For those KI employees going to test ride Banshee over the next 2 weekends. Just don't discuss it on here or on other social media before the ride opens to the public. Some want the surprise come the 17/18th and the park wants the same too.9 points

My wife was a week or two pregnant with our son when we were at Universal. She obviously did not know that at the time. But my son has already rode the following: Hulk, Spiderman, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, the dueling dragon fight ride, and a host of others.....9 points

Kings Island calls it the "driver/drive box," and CP calls it "controls." Get over it.8 points

Well, back in 1976 I begged my father to take me to Magic Mountain for the opening of the Revolution roller coaster that was making huge worldwide news as being the first modern day vertical loop coaster....and of course the park was the busiest I have ever seen ......even to this day and I go to lots of parks....anyways.....my father despised crowds like that and waiting in line......so we got there and he knew how much I wanted to go on this its all I talked about the whole year....so, we walked up to as far to the front of the line as we could get...and he just shouted out......"Ive got $200 bucks here for any 2 people willing to give up their spot for my son and I". In 1976, $200 was quite a bit more then it is today.....and a LOT of hands went up for the offer and we of course took the closest to the front......It was awesome......probably the most memorable thing my Dad did for me....out of everything....To bad he isn't still around to go on Banshee with me...but he will be with me spirtitually I guess. So, its up to you....if you want to shell out a FEW hundred dollars....im sure it will work...no guarantees though.... Good luck. "7 points

A user on the Carowinds Connection has just posted that as of today, Intimidator is Seatbelt free! http://carowindsconnection.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3925&start=930#wrap However, I will not discourage Rollernut from visiting one of Cedar Fair's finest properties for us!5 points

Wow! What a work of art! I feel like the installation of the ID sign almost marks the end of a very long, very harsh off season. The construction crews braved below zero temperatures, snow storm after snow storm, among many other elements. It's gotta be a great feeling to see Banshee turn out so beautifully after working so hard on it. Kings Island really crossed their T's and dotted their I's on this one!5 points

^ nope. I'm not that bothered. I think the sign looks awesome and I love the size of it. It's enormous and looks fantastic.5 points

A few things I noticed while there. - Banshee obviously looks and sounds amazing. - handicap parking has been black topped. Every space is lined in blue and they were in the process of painting the handicap signs. -To all the Sprint customers, 4G has arrived at Kings Island. At least in the parking lot and at processing. I also snagged a park map.5 points

The amount of detail they are putting into theming this ride is incredible. It is going to look really awesome! The Earth is the proper name of a planet, and thus should always be capitalized.5 points

I'm taking the kids up today to get our passes processed. Would be awesome if she is testing while we're there.5 points

When you've been to the park the past 3 weeks (4 tomorrow) for job interviews, processing, orientation, and training sessions. It literally seems like a ghost town during the offseason. On another note, I went to the park today with my sister for her job interview and I saw Diamondback testing! Just thought I'd share that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

Glad that I got to renew my pass online. Major PITA to drive all the way over to KI just to get my pass processed from Indy. Things are really starting to come together though. It's the little details that make a coaster IMO. Getting pretty excited to ride it, is it media day yet?4 points

Past by Kings Island on Monday morning and Thursday night going to and from D.C(Which BTW was awesome I will post a Trip Report about it later) and Banshee really dominates the skyline. Also passing by it on Thursday night they made some very welcome changes to the Kings Island sign so it is now colored! It still has the same design as it used to be except for the new screen You can see it from far away! It was showing stuff like The Beast 35th Anniversary and Social Media stuff. I'm glad to be back!4 points

I have been very busy lately and haven't had time to stay up to date with this thread, so I have enjoyed spending my evening reading through all the new pages of this thread. Now that I'm all caught up, I have several thoughts: 1) Regarding the shades over the queue, they look great and I love that the park went with a color that compliments the ride itself. Seeing these shades makes me wish that Cedar Point will install more shades over Gatekeeper's queue. Last year it only had shades along the few rows of queue parallel to the beach, which wouldn't always be used. I thought it made no sense how the busiest part of the queue and where there were almost always people waiting had NO shade whatsoever. Just a random, sort of off topic thought but I really want this area of GK's queue to get these shades or some some of coverings. Last summer it was brutal waiting there with the hot sun beating down. 2) I'm predicting that the structure previously pointed out across from Banshee's entrance will indeed be where the lockers will be. (Not the area of the former Action Zone target, but the white structure recently in discussion.) It may look small, but keep in mind the perspective we all are getting of it right now if from a webcam on a structure far away and very high. It will look small from that vantage point, even if it is in fact a decent sized structure, which I think it is. I believe that the structure is definitely large enough for lockers, and I think it looks to be about the same same as Gatekeeper's. Plus I noticed some people saying how that structure doesn't look permanent enough. Well, look at any locker bay structure like Gatekeeper's. It looks very similar to this "mystery" structure by Banshee. 3)I believe the queue is also larger than some of you think it is. Keep in mind the perspective and vantage point of the camera that you are basing your assumptions on like I previously mentioned. Something that high up and that far away will make the queue area look smaller than it really is. And remember the picture taken of Banshee's queue a while back, the one that faced back to the valley? According to that picture alone, it looks as if that will be a pretty large area for a queue. Will Banshee's line stretch out into Action Zone? I believe this will be likely to happen especially on opening day and during Haunt, but I feel like the existing queue is very suitable to fit the crowds of normal park operation. Also keep in mind how quickly Cedar Fair's latest B&M, Gatekeeper's, line flies by. I am sure that Banshee will be just as good of a people eater as GK and that the line will be moving along very well. 4) For those of you going to Media Day, I would love it if you would be able to provide us with updates throughout the day such as ride reviews, pictures, and any other experiences or descriptions. All of us who aren't going I'm sure will greatly appreciate anything you tell us and show us! 5) Banshee is turning out to be an incredible addition, between its theming, exciting layout, and even aesthetics. Kings Island was already a great park before this addition, and now and into the future it will only be an even better family fun and thrill destination.4 points

^This past week marks the 1 year anniversary from my very first Disney World and Universal trip. One year ago today I was at the Magic Kingdom and had the great honor of marching in the Main Street Electrical Parade with my marching band. That was one of the best experiences of my life and I will never forget it.3 points

First post...long-time stalker. Speaking of the Golden Ticket Awards, where do you predict Banshee will land in the 2014 top 50 steel, compared to other inverts? The 2013 GT Awards had: #18 - Montu #20 - Nemesis #25 - Alpengeist #30 - Raptor #34 - Black Mamba #35 - Afterburn #39 - Volcano, The Blast Coaster BTW, I'm not a huge fan of the GT awards. I think they are skewed in their awards, but they are the staple in the amusement industry.3 points
