  1. Hi, I'm back to once again overly fixate on this project. I have composed what we know from blog posts and the KIC podcast (Ep. 20) to concoct my next interpretation of the work they are doing on Beast. The visual to supersede all past visuals I have posted here, showing a combination of everything we know and places where we know work is happening (but aren't sure which parts of these are!). I do hope to eventually post a final visual when we get more confirmations and when we are sure of everything they are doing off-season. Original Photo Credit: Google Maps Satellite Image Everything in green is 100% confirmed, we know these are spots they are working on. Everything in red-green and red-yellow is somewhat confirmed. We know, according to the podcast, that KI is working on the second drop area. What parts of that is unconfirmed, but the entire section is highlighted anyway. I may have placed Sycamore Hollow wrong, as a hollow is typically a valley of sorts. I know that the second drop is in a valley, so that is likely where sycamore hollow actually is, but it's fine where I put it in this visual. The helix, based on the blog post image from Mr. Helbig is speculated to be re-tracked to some degree in-house; whether it's partially or fully re-tracked. I posted a set of images similar to this on my Twitter profile, but this is basically combining those into one photo. Finally, looking at the turn before Coon Tunnel, we know that Gravity Group passed over engineering to KI so they could perform work there too. Hopefully that spot won't be so bouncy anymore! Really looking forward to a backstage tour of this at Coasterstock this year, hopefully that's on the itinerary again! Apologies for the edit, for some reason the site posted the same image a second time after my first paste.

  2. My experience would differ from yours. I was there early from the link from the blog on chrome and edge(windows 10). I had refreshed a time or two with the refresh softkey in browser or f5 key and waited till my clock went past 1000 hit refresh and boom there was the “buy now” tab. I was in and out of the process by 1002 and went back in to double check to see if it was active and it was on both browsers. Contrary to this, I had a friend I was texting with set up similarly to how I was and he never got the “buy now” tab. He was able to think quick enough on his feet to use his phone which proved successful for him. If there is one thing that Cedar Fair(CP and KI) seem to have issues with, it’s these special event sales. Look no further to the reservation system last year at CP and Winter chill out along with CoasterStock this year.

  3. The number of people who had issues beg to differ. It is a little rude to totally dismiss all of them. I did everything you suggested and more. I never got the button to purchase the tickets. It could have been a certain version of a browser that the people with issues had that never allowed the button to show or just how the page updated as Malem mentioned before.

  4. There was no issue. This is set on the backend of the store site. It basically purges those who show up early. Refreshing does nothing as your session is still there. You needed to close your browser or switch to another one.

  5. I am a huge fan of water coasters. Been on all 3 at Holiday World and the one at Great Wolf Lodge. They are a lot of fun, good capacity and a definite crowd pleaser. I would really love to see one built at KI's water park. The worlds tallest or longest water coaster would bring the park to another level. Please Cedar Fair?

  6. We have tried for years to get in and always ended up at CoasterMania. We got tickets a couple years ago and they shut down the event due to covid. This year, we got 'em ! So excited to attend a new event as Coasterstock has always had great reviews!

  7. Such a sad incident all the way around. I feel so badly for the victim, but I do take solace that there was no negligence involved. I hope the victim can receive some sort of compensation (both physical and emotional) for this horrible, horrible accident. I suppose the park's attention will now turn to continuation of the ride itself. It is, arguably, Cedar Point's most well known and noteworthy ride. However, even before this incident, it was routinely plagued with extensive downtime. At some point, they have to debate the worthiness of its continued operation. The large plot of land on which it resides is extremely valuable real-estate and could be used for another, new, landmark attraction. I suppose they'll weigh options like putting up safety fencing/netting, or re-routing the queue. However, it wouldn't shock me if they opt to pull the plug altogether. Even with the ODoA findings, it leaves the ride with a huge black cloud looming over it.

  8. Red Summit; That's what I'm thinking too. Cause by 10:05 that's the same error message I got when trying to purchase another ticket.

  9. Both of my friends had the same issue - they selected their t-shirt size at 10:12 and it wouldn’t let them proceed, assuming IT glitch or perhaps sold out - it seems CF has lots of IT glitches as the exact same thing happened with CP Winter Chill out (but Tony did make it right for those few). Very disappointing on the behalf of KI to see glitches like these. They need to have a waiting room software to keep there server from being overwhelmed and sales accurate to the time.

  10. The head bands and silly bands are just this generation's gum tree. Must just be something to do with human nature. Perhaps about leaving your mark. Personally, I don't like it. I think it's at best littering and at worst vandalism.

  11. Idk if it would be too much of a deal, but there are a large number of power lines in that area and a substation is back there so idk if the park would want to risk building in that area or not. I have a weird feeling mondo monsoon might be on its way out as KD removed their version of it a few years ago. If so, they could always start the water coaster there and give it a nice plaza with a beach street thing similar to KD.

  12. Ahh yes the perennial water coaster discussion point. I have been an advocate for years that KI needs a water coaster of such a caliber to make Soak City a more well rounded waterpark. I have stated time and time again, use the back end near Pineapple with the ravine to create a one of a kind terrain water coaster that breaks some form of record. I would absolutely love to see an airtime machine like Wildebeest hit Kings Island and really round out the waterpark as it is seriously lacking in modern waterslides. (For those who don't know, most of the older slides near the left side of the waterpark are from the Water Works era, Rendezvous Run and Mondo Monsoon are from the Boomerang Bay era (RIP to the Golden Age) and Tropical Plunge is from the Soak City era) We need a new and innovative attraction like a PROSlide water coaster to move the waterpark in a new direction for the chain.

  13. I like the 3 seater torpedo style like wildebeast and cheetah chase a little more than the raft style. Air time in the back seat is great. Even on Great Wolf Lodge's two small drops you get a good pop of air. I'd take any water coaster though, just make it big and tall.

  14. My impression from the podcast (and the KI blogs) is that the track path/profile will not change, only the supports. More specifically, the lower track (that takes you into the tunnel for lap #1) will have its own supports, and the upper track (lap #2) will have its own. They will achieve this using a mix of wood and steel supports that would have been difficult in 1979. Currently there is “shared structure”, which struggles because the banking and directional forces are different on the upper and lower tracks. The new supports will be distinct and optimized for the individual tracks and forces. Since those 2 entries to the tunnel are 2 of my favorite coaster elements ever, I’m encouraged that Brian Kosmac and GG appreciate the “flavor” of The Beast and are intentionally doing their best to preserve it for our great grandkids.

  16. Or a leaf blower during the season, maybe once a week or so. All that stuff is unsightly and (literally) trashy.

  17. They could just move KD directly next to KI, tower and all, and then the sky ride would connect to the two. Wouldn't that be something?
