  1. Perhaps if KIC starts employing people globally and making millions of dollars per year like the other companies that rent KI, we'll see a KIC day. Admins do you here this?
  2. Might be a KI addict if you date one of the Diamondback ride supervisors...
  3. Are you guys serious about those comments about rides having magnets? I suppose it's too dangerous to stand next to the TTD launch because of the earth magnets for *brakes* too huh? Because you know it happens all the time that random metal components are constantly getting sucked into the magnets on Drop Zone, FOF, Italian Job, etc. As a person with a 5x1" metal plate in my arm, I can assure you that you need not worry about the magnets on roller coasters. First off let's get one thing straight, the two most common metals used in surgery applications are Titanium and high grade stainless steel, both of which are NOT magnetic. Mine doesn't even set off the Airport metal detectors, nor has any magnet I have ever put against it been remotely attracted to it. In addition even if some crazy doctor decided to use mild steel, the magnetic field of magnets barely carries over distances, and certainly not from a riders leg from a rides magnets. Have you ever seen a maintenance person? Do you think as they walk around Drop Zone that their tools are simply flying off their person into the magnets? Ridiculous... The only reason why you should possibly worry about drop zone would be because the dangling feet aspect could cause pain. Otherwise you should be fine.
  4. Especially the launching ones. The worst is when the restraints are released in the station to handle a situation, and others in the train start yelling about their restraints coming unlocked. Some people have no faith in the parks ensuring of guest safety. To answer your question: "No need to worry"
  5. I doubt this will have much of an affect on Disney's business. People either want to take a cruise or they want to take a Disney cruise. There's not too much grey area.
  6. How exactly do they determine what the steepest roller coaster is. I mean technically I'd think this starts at more than 110: or this; couldn't you say this drop is 180 degrees
  7. I dont know, I dont think theres a video out yet that can beat:
  8. Well then D23 is not meant for you. Anybody try working at Disney World and you'll quickly see exactly who D23 is geared toward. You'll met more obsessed guests and cast members than you could ever have dreamed. D23 is not for those people that go to Disney World just to ride Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Rock n' Roller coaster. D23 is for the people that when they go to the Hollywood Studios, they spend 2 hours in One Man's Dream and stay for the movie afterward. D23 is for the people that understand every subtle refrence in the Jungle Cruise Queue Loop. D23 is for people that know, that at Disneyland in New Orleans Square, when you go into the telegraph office, the Morse Code loop that you hear, is Walt Disney's opening day loop. They can tell you exactly where the one piece that makes the right mosaic going into the land pavillion different than the one the left. They can show you where the footers are for the monorail to run to the Hollywood Studios. Outside of the parks, D23 is for those people that own every Disney Treasures Album. For those people that know that NO Steamboat Willie was NOT the first Mickey Mouse cartoon but rather Plane Crazy was; Steamboat Willie was the third. For people that know that Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 even though his birth certificate says December 5, 1900. For people that want to go to the Disney Archives so badly, because they want to see the books used in the opening scenes of movies like Snow White. These are not your average park goers. Not your average amusement park enthusiasts. What Disney has is something that VERY few companys in the world have, Tradition, History, etc. Many people enjoy it world wide. D23 is definitely going to take off.
  9. Alright just because some article says that this is a stupid idea doesn't mean it's true. Apparently nobody on here is an avid Disney fan. Well believe me there are plenty out there. Time to start getting some facts straight. First of all just so we're clear, the magazine that is included with membership is quartly and cost's ~$16 to purchase at Barns and Noble. Multiply that by 4 and you'll see where most of your membership goes. However to use the word magazine is a severe understatement, it's more of a book. Did we have to start this topic with an article that was so incredibly bias? We couldn't start with one that actually stated the facts with an objective opinion? HERE are the real facts: http://wdwmagic.com/Other/D23/News/10Mar20...the-details.htm http://d23.disney.go.com/index.html?int_cm...hmpg_0310__Intl Now to put this in perspective, ACE is $50 a year and how much has ACE done for you lately besides send you magazines and loose your walkback? I've attended more than my share of ACE events and never found the price overly justifyable. I'm not going to lie, being able to experience the Disney Archives is one of my all time greatest dreams. So we're clear the Disney Archives are NOT open to the public. This is the first time Disney has opened the Archives to a select group.
  10. Many, many, many cycles are required to be run before people are allowed to ride. After the required number of cycles has been completed, and the Ohio Department of Agriculture completes its inspection and clears it for riding, only then will people be allowed to ride. KI will not take the risk of anyone riding before this time, as the penalties, I would assume, would be quite severe. Back in the day I was lucky enough to ride several rides before they opened to the public, but that was only after the required number of cycles and the state inspection. They will most likely let a very select few ride before April 18th, but I cannot say for sure. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! WRONG! Some people have in fact ridden Diamondback, the Ohio Department of Agriculture rules only apply to the General Public, and not to employees of the park/ contractors, etc. He's right. I know several people personally who have already ridden Diamondback. Some of whom are very close to me. In addition teenageninga and I were among the first park personel to ride IJ when it opened in 05 long before the public was given the chance to ride.
  11. I dont know, I built Diamondback in RCT2 and it had an intensity rating of 14.7, a naseua rating of 9.9 and an excitment rating of 1.8. I dont think its going to be a very safe ride at all. All my guests were puking all over the place, and meanwhile all my handymen were just mowing grass!
  12. Has anyone else seen Beverly Hillsl Cop III? There's a pretty intense scene where Eddie Murphy is literally jumping from gondola to gondola to try to save someone's life on a similar ride.
  13. Especially when they had a building called "The Krusty Krab" that looked like the one from the show. I Know! They have a resturant called the Krusty Krab Snack Shack and what do they sell?! HOTDOGS! They dont even sell hamburgers! What little kid obsessed with the talking sponge would not want to eat a Krabby Patty! Ridiculous!
  14. You know as much as we complain about basketball games, keep in mind they are still one of the most popular games at the park and quite possibly the leading money maker in the games department. As we all know money buys things like big new roller coasters. Perhaps the park allowed us to endour all that basketball discomfort over the years so that in 2009 they could provide us with a great big new B&M. Think it will be worth it?
  15. Why would you want that? Everything down there is broken. Since they put in the lower deck bypass, I dont think anyone will ever see lower deck open.
  16. Agreed! To be honest, though all the Action Theater movies were fun (well most of them at least) I don’t think any were as realistic as Days of Thunder. Everything about it was extremely convincing. Even though you were sitting stationary, the film did an excellent job of creating a feeling of high speed. I remember when they re-aired it in 2004 for that short period of time; I went after work to one day because there was no line, I was able to ride it 4 times in a row; once in each row. Though James Bond did a good job at it, I still think Days of Thunder did the best job of utilizing the "themeing space" in the preshow area. All the props plus the car on the turntable was really cool and really set the mood for what was going to happen. That was back when both theaters ran simultaneously AND synchronized. And to think now we have a movie about a talking cleaning medium in search of hamburger dill.
  17. How do you know that for a fact? You have never been to the park let alone ridden the ride. I think you're severely underestimating Thunderhead. I've been on quite a few wooden coasters and it is my firm belief that the best 3 wooden coasters are (in no particular order) Thunderhead, the Voyage, and Giant Dipper (at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk). I also often include Screechin' Eagle as I've still never been on another coaster with such pure airtime. Still though I have definitely not been on all wooden coasters out there I prefer not to make bold decisions about those that I have not yet experienced, especially on with such great reviews. Also I dont consider Mystery Mine to be just a Roller Coaster, it's more of a fully emersive themed roller coaster experience; similar to that of Expedition Everest or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The ride actually tells a story and makes you part of it and allows you to feel emotions based on what you see around you.
  18. How about pink? I think that would definitely work!
  19. You see the crypt is a very sophisticated ride. It is the only one of its kind. It is the worlds largest completely free moving room. What happens during the ride is that you sit perfectly still in your seats and the entire room moves around you, yet through the use of artificial gravity, you feel like your moving. It's truly a masterpiece.
  20. TALKING! How about green and black with a giant, million dollar sphere in the middle of the ride; or has that already been done...
  21. Which 4 people? The people hooked up with you? The previous flyers?
  22. Do you know what a Huss Giant Topspin is? http://www.hussrides.com/index.php?option=...&Itemid=165 The experience itself similar to this:
  23. I still have your original Phantom Theater ride through. I do not however have the newer condensed version.
