There is a "moose out front" joke in there somewhere just dying to get out.

They just did update it, not for the better IMO. It may be more mobile friendly but they wiped most of useful content and made it extremely difficult to find anything.

@shark6495 you have really jumped the shark this time. Do you have any idea how much it costs to pave a parking lot that size? A home driveway is a couple of grand. (Besides the potholes act as cheap speed bumps for all speed demons out to kill our kids) My volunteer hours go to a bit more worthy causes than multi billion dollar partnerships. (Scouts, Special Olympics, conservation projects, etc.)

Can someone explain what is so great about floorless? I just don't get it. With the exception of the headbanging right before the corkscrew Rougarou is an OK coaster but nothing about it being floorless feels special to me.

I would be very surprised. When you have a product considered the best available (kids area) businesses tend not to give it away for free. But for all the people that have smaller children I hope so as well.

Have they changed up Hanks from last year? Not been this year but before you would tell them what you wanted in your burrito or bowl and it was served off the steam table. Cold meat on a steam table is a big Health Dept. no no.

The forecast call for temps to drop to 49F by 8PM in addition to the rain. I suspect that was the driving factor. Nobody but a few of our resident polar bears likes to be wet and cold. Hypothermia starts to be a concern in conditions like that especially with kids.

We have a whole 15 page thread about Chipotle. Fun times.

Just because the track inside the shed is sloped doesn't meant the shed had to be from a technical standpoint. There are plenty of squared buildings that house coas track at angles. KI clearly wanted it like this and is not likely to change it.

SIX Flags 2018 Announcement Video
King Ding Dong replied to MDMC01's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Um, maybe I misunderstand your post but SIX has been adding HitP for a while now, long before FUN has in recent history. It appears to me CF is trying to out-do SIX on this matter. Also given the hints posted on this site about what rides CF is going to operate SIX may be out-doing CF successfully. Unless you can point out any verifiable safety issues that have resulted from SIX operating coasters in lower temperatures. -
I concur and to add many years ago SFSTL completely gave up on grounds keeping. When I was a kid it was always full of bright colorful flowers then the switched to low maintenance drab plants and lawns in the ghetto have less weeds. They could never pull off something like the KI Calendar. Add in all the hair gel billboards and othe sponsored content and I think "cheap" fits and the passes are cheap.

I think they would keep Vortex just change to name to Ninja and slap VR on it or possibly Justice League: Punishment Surf Dog renamed to Surfsanity. Eifel Tower SBNO. Food disServices would largely stay the same.

SIX Flags 2018 Announcement Video
King Ding Dong replied to MDMC01's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't really view SFSTL as getting the shaft this year (sort of). Given the climate we spent the vast majority of our time at the waterpark when we lived there. STL tends to have many high 90s or 100+ days/weeks with 60%+ humidity and the dry park is just unbearable. Many of our friends that have SPs there wouldn't consider them if it weren't for the waterpark. Sure it sucks they haven't received a good coaster in years but they need to play to their strengths. The could install a $30M RMC Giga and it probably wouldnt drive attendance appreciably. -
The hot dogs are way, way better than the LaRosas served in the park anyway. So is the scum at the bottom of WWC reservoir.

The entrance for The Food Lane+ line is a Ford Focus about halfway up row Beast 23 during Dollar Days.

IIRC from reading about last year the Meal Plans are not available or are very limitled?

Haunt and Winterfest update with Don Helbig
King Ding Dong replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
30mph is fairly slow by coaster standards and I doubt the temps are much different at 300' vs. 100'. The wind may be more steady but that should only impact the ride for approximately half the circle. I imagine it would be more comfortable temperature wise than a 50mph+ coaster. @VortexBFForever what is WindSeeker's cycle duration? -
Maybe I misunderstand your post but there is a 22 year span between the first Batman and Banshee. Are suggesting it is best to wait some 20 odd more years for a Giga?
-
Given how CF appears to be going all in with RMC at this point I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one came to KI sooner rather than later. Wouldn't it be something if KI ended up with RMC's first Giga in a few years?

Cedar Fair wheeling out Pre-K Pass
King Ding Dong replied to silver2005's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I somehow suspect when KI has the best kids area in the country it's not going to be something they give away for free. Somewhat surprised CP is doing this as it appears to me they have a rather extensive kid offering as well, but I suppose it helps with the destination/resort nature of the park, -
Dear God, Please give us a sign we are getting a Giga. Something like blocking out the Sun anytime in the next week would work. Thanks.
-
I will get you a referral to a good treatment clinic. Interesting how individual taste can be so drastically different as I find Maverick and it's restraints the most comfortable of any coaster, hands down. Are you tall? I saw them pull a tall guest out of the train and check his height Wednesday, he just passed.

Cedar Fair and Planet Coaster.

Does Planet Coaster have all the DRM hoops you have to jump through like Elite: Dangerous? -
