Not a lawyer so can’t say for sure, but many people here would say CF can just not open and keep the money. I am not so sure about that, just because a contract says something doesn’t mean a court will uphold it. If it did there would not be any litigation over contracts and we would need a lot fewer lawyers and judges. I am really just zen about the issue right now. I maybe naive, but I just don’t see CF keeping the money and running and will do everything they can to keep the customer relationship. Maybe they have to borrow a couple of billion to keep going and pay it back over a period of years and weigh that cost against alienating half their existing customers and the costs to get the revenue back. In business it is usually a lot easier to keep an existing customer happy than to chuck them aside and attempt to get a new one. Emphasis on attempt. -

@FlightofFear123 Hopefully you used a credit and not debit card. I personally would call your CC issuer and initiate a chargeback. Rarely will a business fight it as it is just not worth the effort. Good Luck. I rarely will book a hotel room that does not offer free cancelation unless it is a super good deal. It is worth a little extra to have that insurance, especially with kids. There is nothing worse than being away from home with a child loosing fluids from one or both ends. Been there a few times. -

This is uncharted territory for sure, there is just no way CF is going to spew the "no rainchecks, no refund" line on all the season pass holders, basically half their customer base. That would be corporate suicide and they know it. It could take decades to get that customer base back. I would highly caution against putting a stop payment order on the payment plan. For one banks and going to charge you for that and second it breaks the credit agreement. That will be reported to the credit agencies. If you are KI Gold pass holder KI has not broken the agreement at all at this point. If you are desperate then do what you have to do to protect your family, but this is all moving so fast, give CF a little time to come up with a strategy for this. See my previous post in this thread about what they did for my wife's Platinum Pass the season she could not attend at all. -

But those are the days I come home happiest. I guess you are right, I hear Don is in desperate need of a new wing on his mansion and Chad is getting cramped in that van down by the Little Miami river, we should help out. I will try and spend extra money on my visits but only on one condition. -

This didn’t make sense to me because it is not like the solstice and equinox are different in the Southern Hemisphere, it is after all the same planet. Spring doesn’t start until March 21st. So I googled. Turns out there are the astronomical seasons which vary by a few days each year and the meteorological seasons which are defined by hard calendar dates. In the US we use the astronomical seasons but Australia uses the meteorological so the seasons do not align perfectly. The More You Didn’t Want to Know. https://www.calendarpedia.com/when-is/fall.html Yeah well with a limit of only 10 per train capacity would suck on all the coasters anyway. Spring Break in Hawaii? Ibiza just didn’t cut it for you? Breaking: Primary off by order of Dr. Acton. Not safe for poll workers or public. -

To be fair, I probably know less about Australia than you do, but in any Australia themed movie or TV show is sure looks warm and with the exception of the Mad Max movies nobody is overdressed. -

But we do. It is summer in Australia and It is spreading. There is some theorizing virus survival has more to do with humidity than temperature. I don’t know why they haven’t studied this and know the answer to that by now. -

How about we just turn off Facebook and mothball the servers until this is over so all the employees can stay home? Also: April 4th ACT was postponed until June 13th. The May 2nd SAT was cancelled outright. Youngest got the SAT in on Saturday, but was really counting on the ACT. Bummer. -

@Hawaiian Coasters 325 IF it comes to that. Nothing is going to be 100% and it is not like we have the Stazi or informants on every corner like John Wick or Handmaids Tale but National Guard checkpoints on interstate highway access points will slow movement down a ton. Rogue commerce can be severely restricted by the banking system. If your credit card processor cuts you off you are now a cash only business. Not so easy to do these days. When this is over rouge business can be prosecuted. Better to just obey than make a short term profit and then loose it all. Lower daily cash withdrawal limits can be imposed. Some may forget or not know it’s official name is Dwight D. Eisenhower National System of Interstate and Defense Highways. The initial funding was largely justified as a method for the military to quickly react during war or other national crisis with controlled access. -

These are going to be some dangerous times. There is a very vocal and committed minority that is encouraging open revolt against all these measures. Some with very large national followings. The military and APCs out on our streets is not a good look and it shouldn't have to come to that, not here. My mother and father in-law are both cancer survivors in their 70s and have greatly diminished respiratory function due to that. As of last night they still think it is all a hoax. Nothing my wife says to them can change their minds. -

Well here is something on the Princess cruise passengers at Dobbins AFB in Georgia under quarantine. They certainly don't feel like they are being treated well. https://news.yahoo.com/cruise-passengers-under-coronavirus-quarantine-004037463.html Regarding resturaunt carryout and delivery. Sonic and any other car-hop type places are going to do very well under these conditions. In fact I just envisioned them needing traffic control on the roads with cones and traffic guides at peak times. -

My teen or 20-something self would have had a very difficult time dealing with being home bound. At 18 I was hospitalized with a virus that attacked my left optic nerve and was temporarily blind in one eye, despite that I snuck out of the hospital one night to go party with friends. Boy was I read the riot act the next day by the doctors and my parents. My 50-something self is looking at all the social/family responsibilities taken off the calendar feeling a sense of relief and thinking about all the little jobs around the house I will have time to get done now. I have always sucked at Smash Bro’s., maybe my with some intensive training from my kids I can git gud. Look for the opportunities. -

Back to KI itself and Orion specifically. Could all this delay any final inspections, state approvals, certifications etc.? No idea what is left to do but the ability of state and local govt to deliver these services might be impacted as well. In the grand scheme of things this could be viewed as a low priority. -

When reading graphs like this be careful in extrapolating from just a couple of recent data points. Trend lines are what is important and just eyeballing it the death rate trend line appears to still be up. Tomorrow the next data point could be up. (Though hopefully not) -

Our citizens are arriving from Europe ahead of the travel ban and the enhanced screening procedures appear to be a smashing social distancing success. If they weren’t infected prior they most certainly are now after standing in crowded lines for 8 hours. Right before we disperse them all over the country. -

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/miami-beach/article241201211.html I do not understand this. How does closing the beaches at 5PM help? Are the beaches more crowded at night during spring break? -

Do you think we are starting these drastic measures to late or they will just not be effective enough or something else?
