This is not new news, other than the increased distance. It has always been known to be airborne. That is why there are no masks available.

Might even be able to modify the chain lifts to haul these up and just skip the trains all together. Sure would satisfy those wanting a free spin. Not going to work well with FoF however.

A little retooling of the seat restraints and an unfortunate reduction in capacity but maybe they open the park if we use these. Looks like it would work at Soak City as well.

Some people seem to conflate the idea that we can ease social distancing to allow more people to work, but that is a far cry from throwing open the gates to stadiums, arenas and amusement parks. That level is not going to occur until this is well under control. Scientists are not going to recommend that until this is well under control. What the politicians do is anyone's guess.

Without science modern amusement parks would not exist. Why fans reject science now is puzzling to me. Perhaps you can explain a scenario where the parks are able to open this season? Be prepared to back up you conclusions with scientific evidence.

Internet traffic is really slow these days with all the video conferencing and streaming so the software upgrade is taking longer than expected. Should be done by mid May or as soon thereafter as possible.

Completely agree but...Florida Man DeSantis. States rights and all that. Without a Congressional declaration of war federal powers are limited. That hasn't happened since 1941 for reasons I do not fully understand.

As long as Florida Man DeSantis is running the show anything is possible down there. Many beaches are still open. The parks will be more responsible. Personally I find cruises boring. I don't gamble and not really into live shows. All there is for me to do is eat and eat and eat. My issues with the industry are as others have said, they are not US companies so do not pay taxes, mostly hire internationals and treat them like hell. I do not support giving them one cent in bailout.

Only if you know the secret punch to get in. The cruise industry is still the one I have a hard time imagining ever recovering. It would be costly but parks could do some retooling to make them more compliant with the new world we live in. Much harder to do with a giant ship. Wapo has an article today, which I have not read yet, about how parents are having a difficult time getting their teens to stay home and not hang with their friends. I completely understand as I would have been bouncing off the walls in this situation as a teen. Mine on the other hand have been perfectly content to stay home and socialize on Discord and the like. Getting them out of the house has always been my issue. Fear of death is a very powerful force. We have had very limited visual access to the horrors starting to occur within some hospital primarily due to privacy issues. More will come out eventually as this progresses and it gets more personal as loved ones and friends are lost. I think the instinct for self preservation will take over with enough that it just won’t be profitable to open.

Agreed. However that is qualified in the full statement and includes "mid-May or as soon thereafter as possible." which is saying the same thing, with just a brighter tone. Could be 2021or even December 2020 and go full SF Extreme running all the coasters that won't valley in the cold or otherwise won't disintegrate excessively rapidly and we end up having the longest season in KI history for 2021. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't think anything is completely off the table at this point, this situation changes rapidly.

That is an interesting take. Your educational experience appears to be very different to that of mine or my children. While the event itself and its aftermath are important they don’t tell you why something happened, I have found much more focus in history classes on the circumstance that led up to the event. For instance what factors led to the the fall of Rome, the Inquisition, WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, The Cold War, Cuban Missile Crises, Vietnam, Watergate, Challenger Accident, 9/11 etc. Why this happened, was it inevitable, failures and mistakes along the way, how the outcome could have been different. What lessons can be learned from those factors I find historians are most interested in. The rest is mostly dates and facts.

I would never condone this but many people are saying after they leave Haunt at closing they plan to show their appreciation by driving through that subdivision and tooting a few honks in solidarity. Please, nobody do this.
