  1. How is that faster than just doing nothing and allow everyone to go “everywhere”?
  2. Today was the first day I have ventured out of my neighborhood since the 3/16 so my son could mow his teachers lawn. Drove by the Costco on the way back home and it dead about 3. Lot 1/4 full. Kroger didn’t look that busy either. I don’t get it. Everyone says how bad it is out there.
  3. The Costly Toll of Not Shutting Down Spring Break Earlier People got sick — and some died — after attending crowded parties and theme parks in Florida as the coronavirus spread.
  4. So is Panda 1 or 2 entrees on the meal plan this year?
  5. Hoping they added milk to it since the dairy producers are having to dump milk right now because the grocery stores have been limiting the amount you can purchase. Fun Fact: You can carbonate milk, I have done it. It wasn’t good, but the chocolate milk wasn’t bad.
  6. Anybody see what the hand sanitizer stations look like? These are the ones being installed all over Cedar Point.
  7. There are formulations of concrete that do not retain the heat as much but is more expensive and not as durable. We just drop the flip flops by the entrance but not as close as most and then stack them to lessen chance for confusion. If you had cargo swim shorts with large enough pockets you could go that route. But make sure there is no exposed metal like snaps or zippers.
  8. Not that it will likely matter this year but....early in the season lots of stores have extremely cheap flip flops, I have purchased them for $2 at Walgreens once. Buy several pairs each, if you loose them or they break no big deal. Although I am prepared for someone to steal them, it has not happened yet at any waterpark in over 10 years.
  9. It all Carole #&@%.&@* Baskin’s fault! That one is on me.
  10. I would tend to agree with that if they chose to close because of a recession or such other excuse. This is very different. If they stay closed it will be because it is not safe for their workers and/or guests or because of a State order which they are currently under. Passholder Preview did not happen today not just because they are being responsible corporate citizens. The State Police would have arrested top management.
  11. 1. No idea 2. Same thing DeWine and Acton are doing now. If they can shut an election down they can keep a park closed. Sure courts could get involved but that generally takes time. The KY Governor is threatening to take license plate numbers in church parking lots this Sunday and enforcing a 14 day quarantine on them. 3. My assumption is attendance caps directly hurt revenue because the Passholders would come first. If the park prioritized daily ticket holders it would severely cheese off the Passholders.
  12. Because I think they they will make tons of money, even if it is just for Haunt and Winterfest. I just know it, it is in my gut.
  13. @kenban I like this but you did a terrible job selling it. No camps, they will never go for it. Think free month long vacation in Ibiza but colder. Night clubs galore, micro brewery’s, room service with avocado toast. Take over all the cruise ships as well for both transportation and partying. These camps Resorts could be in the Aleutian Islands, Newfoundland, the Yukon, Colorado ski resorts if in winter, maybe we could buy Greenland since it would be for a good cause. Have all the infrastructure built and ready to go for next time. Maybe even put all the out of work Imagineers to work on Disneyland Greenland. We could use the selective service and travel agencies for consultations so everyone could have their preferred destination all picked out and even roommate requests. Fail to plan, plan to fail.
  14. I will repeat my Russian Roulette example. Depending on ones perspective the odds of winning or loosing with a 6 round revolver are 16.67%. I really don’t like those odds, but they are better than an under 50 getting hospitalized and once in I don’t like the odds of coming out either. This is an everyone problem.
  15. Sure looks like it is a Male Disease. Big shout out to all the Females for protecting us!
  16. @disco2000 are you trying to insinuate this is also a Male Disease?
  17. That is very true and it needs to be studied more. It is not clear to me that race is the dominant factor but socio-economic condition, access to healthcare etc. I am fairly certain the virus is color blind but there certainly could be race related biological factors such as sickle cell anemia that are predominantly in African-Americans.
  18. Would be interesting to line up the age demographics of this disease to the age demographics of actual voters. The difference is essential is defined by industry and job function not race, gender, age, religion etc. Just sayin if you tried that argument in front of the Supreme Court they would laugh you out the door 9-0 .
  19. But I didn’t say we are going to stay locked down until a vaccine is distributed. I said it is very possible the parks may not open until then. Goes to same for many large crowded gatherings such as stadiums, arenas etc. It is also possible a treatment could be developed and proven safe before then or it could just go away like a miracle. I sure hope so. There are many but testing is the big one. I understand many do not think testing is important, but the chief scientists in the field do.
  20. Fail to plan, plan to fail. This isn’t IT, this is public health policy. We spend a ton of money gaming these things out and preparing contingencies. Fly by the seat of your pants if you want to. That is not what a pilot does when all the alarms and lights start firing off. There are specific procedures to follow that have been studied extensively. The experts prepared procedures to follow in these circumstances. They were fired in 2018 and the procedures were not followed when it counted. The US has had the worst response to this among the developed world. That should be plainly obvious to everyone. Well 2022 wasn’t an option The Maths: Fauci and many other scientists say it may be 18 months for a vaccine to be ready for public distribution. That takes us to September 2021. Now we have to give 330 million shots and it takes a few weeks for a vaccine to become effective. The hard truth is it is very possible parks may not open until 2022.
