  1. Doubtful from what I have seen of CF IT. Webcam software upgrade anyone?
  2. Their timing is crap. That was the perfect social distance attraction. Everyone spaced 1/4 mile appart.
  3. Your are right, it didn’t actually open, further proving my point beyond my wildest dreams.
  4. My definition of limiting capacity would be a crowd where the DB, FoF, MT all have naturally no more than 15 minute waits at which point SD the queues would be fairly straight forward and virtual queues would be unnecessary. I don’t think that is going to be Jurassic Park’s KI’s definition. “Oooh! Ahhh! That's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming.” FTFY.
  5. Matthew, because....Nintendo. They think different. Costco had whole beef tenderloins for $6.19/lb. Wow. Eating good tonight. If the parks have to limit capacity a reservation system is the only way to do it. What other choices are there? Lottery? First come first serve at the gate would be a mess.
  6. But not necessarily the super spreader employee filling for you. Disco’s designer mask will need to be extra long to contain a wall of text.
  7. And they won’t be using Freestyle Machines for that either. Little Billy, “What are all my choices, again?”
  8. Only in Toontown. However kilts have been trying for a comeback for years now.
  9. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/n/nearterm.asp The definition of Near term appears to mean whatever you want it to mean. So as usual the corporate word salad means nothing definitive.
  10. My wife’s employer hasn’t been able to obtain any and they have been open the whole time albeit with half staff in the office. Some microbrewers have converted over to hand sanitizer production but they have very limited production capabilities. The parks may be able to use portable hand wash stations as you might find an a music festival next to the port-a-potties. Those are limited as well. Not sure if the ethanol fuel industry can help but they potentially have the capacity. Hand washing is certainly preferable but I also assume social distancing will be required there as well. Will each restroom require a temp queque with a line separator to control flow? Back in *normal* times few actually scrubbed for 20 seconds, now some will, some won’t.
  11. You are trying to win my favor with talk of more Freestyle machines. I have asked this question many times in this thread and no one has ever answered. Where is hand sanitizer for ~20k people a day going to come from and how much is that going to cost the parks? Figure that is at least a 4oz per person per day, probably a lot more at 1/4oz per application. I have not seen any available in stores since this began. That is 625 gallons or about 11 barrels per day. Doesn’t it take 2-4 weeks to ferment ethanol?
  12. That was my point. Limiting capacity is going to produce winners and losers. What if it rains on the 2 days you reserved 40 days ago so you could get off work? Maybe one would even spit in park employees face and later shoot them. They are riled up already. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2020/05/04/security-guard-told-flint-dollar-store-customer-wear-mask-before-being-fatally-shot/3078939001/
  13. ^Actually they just need to loose less money than staying closed. Operating in the red is not ideal but the question may be how red they want to operate for the time being. If they have to throttle capacity severely I don’t see where they generate any substantial revenue at all by opening this year unless they cap Passholders in a reservation system so they can have plenty of slots for daily buyers. Maybe that will be enough to cover the variable costs. Good poll question: Passholders and Meal Plan holders given that 2021 is “free” would you support the park only allowing Passholders a reservation after the park has given ticket buyers a two week chance to purchase for a particular date so the park can make a profit or at least loose less money?
  14. @SonofBaconator How about we start with signatures that are not entirely accurate.
  15. @PatchesC I am sure if CF had a reservation system it would tie in with hotel bookings, probably the only way to guarantee a specific date would be to have a hotel reservation at CP.
  16. Reservations seem like the only viable way to limit capacity however people abusing and gaming the system will also be an issue. Jammed reservation pages when a date goes live, guests making excessive reservations.
  17. Interesting opinion story in Time about 1918 San Francisco. Many didn’t like masks back then either. https://time.com/5830265/1918-flu-reopening-coronavirus/
  18. My Costco is enforcing the 6’ at the checkouts or people are just following the directions but in the isles? As wide as the isles are one is within 6’ when passing someone. That is great to hear about Menards and the masks.
  19. Costco has updated its policies regarding Coronavirus. All guests are now required to wear a facial covering as well as some other changes. Exceptions for under 2 and medical conditions. https://www.costco.com/covid-updates.html Those Asian hornets kill about 50 a year in Japan.
  20. @disco2000 My car sure lets me know if I didn’t buckle up. Did you get out some wire cutters?
  21. Wouldn’t dream of trying. I may be a king but it is largely a ceremonial role, my powers are very limited. Far more wealthy and powerful people will make that decision for you.
  22. I don’t even know what this means. They already strongly recommend not smoking in the Midway and line cutting but people still do it and the park just shrugs.
  23. Staying home is not going to prevent me from getting it as I live with three people, and schools will likely start back up sometime within 2 years, maybe even this fall. It is all about taking reasonable steps to lessen the likelihood of contracting it until the healthcare system can reasonably take me in if needed. There is much less chance for infection from a trip to the store with maybe a few hundred people in it, that spending the whole day at the park getting in and out of rides. A shopping cart does help with some distancing, maybe a stroller and doll would help at the park.
