  1. I haven’t been farther than my mailbox since the 16th when I went to the drive up window at Kroger Pharmacy only to be told my advair would not fit in the tube and I would have to come inside.
  2. I could think of something, but keeping Rivertown Freestyle open during all operating hours is just not realistic.
  3. Well jail is not a really good option right now and fines only work if people have money to pay them. About the only lever I have with my kids these days is cutting screen time. Cutting off internet access for 24 hours can do wonders for a change in attitude. Not sure how legal that would be but it should be.
  4. Wasn’t sure if this belongs here or “I Can’t Make This Crap Up”
  5. Great minds, I was just about to post this as well. Here is direct from YT. This from just one beach. A park like KI might not have quite this reach but CP, very well may.
  6. Yep, getting screwed by The Man again, @coaster sally Here is how my airline bailout bill would go: For every $1B in taxpayer funded bailout I get either 1” or legroom or 1/2” of width. 2 free checked bags, and no charge to pick my seat. Feel free to add your own conditions.
  7. As the old saying goes advice is worth what you pay for it.
  8. You can use better terminology than I but I have read that, at least in a laboratory setting, they found humidity was an important factor as well. Something to do with the aerosol droplet size and it lingering longer and traveling farther in dryer air. IIRC there was also a point at very high humidity the where they found it survived better as well. So that middle ground humidity level is where it was suppressed. But indoors and proximity are certainly the primary driving factors. I read this several weeks ago which is ancient history so further research may have overridden this.
  9. That 2.5 million deaths number was if as a society we did nothing to combat it and just went about our lives as normal. What I am not sure about is what the 25k number is conditioned on. Lock down until vaccine? A few months? Nationwide, regionally or by state? The results of all these models always have assumptions so it is important to look at those. Doesn’t translate well to headlines.
  10. When the FDA talks about safe meat temperatures the tables such as poultry @165F it is referring to instant kill temps (3 seconds, I think) but it is all a function of time. A lower temp will provide the same (99%) kill if kept at a that temp for a longer period time. I used to have the pdf they published about it a few years ago but cant find it right now). But this is all about food borne pathogens, not airborne/contact pathogens. I have read that covid-19 is relatively easy to kill the problem is it is very contagious.
  11. I think I should just stay off the internet today. Had a great start to the day finding out my kid scored a 780 Math on the SAT and it has been going downhill since.
  12. Dig a little deeper and some religious leaders with sizable followings claim it is a secular attempt to keep them from worshiping as they see fit. As of last night, my MIL believes it is a conspiracy cooked up by China and the liberals to destroy the president. She has cooked lungs from lymphoma treatments, and some autoimmune diseases, not likely to survive if she gets it. Neither is the FIL that had part of a lung removed due to cancer a few years ago. They didn’t used to be like this.
  13. That is cool. Do they have FreeStyle machines on those trains?
  14. Naming rights and such are usually long term contracts and involve substantial commitments from both parties, often in barter. My wife has been involved with those with SF. The hair gel, Snickers signs and PA system ads could be in jeopardy. Not so sure how large a percentage in revenue those are but it all adds up. SEAS is another one I would be interested in, given how they are in the middle of transformation.
  15. This came up somewhere and the analyst said something to the effect of the the maturities on a large portion of their debt was in 2022 or later so bankruptcy was not imminent, though I think that opinon was predicated on a July opening.
  16. I know that it has been pointed out before but is worth repeating. This is not just about Covid19 cases. If the HC system is overrun, what about all the other reasons people use hospitals. Heart Attacks, strokes, cancer treatments, accidents etc., etc. We are already having to delay or reduce some cancer treatments. Chemo and radiation just kill your immune system. Can’t bring those people into a hospital with covid19 cases lining the hallways. Think about your 45 year old mom getting breast cancer and can’t get treatment. Right now businesses are being asked politely to ramp up production of PPE and they are but they will do so at a pace that ensures they still remain profitable. They are not going to build out to increase production by 20X to all of a sudden have demand fall back to normal levels in a year or two and then have all this idle capacity they invested in. That is not maximizing shareholder value. We need a war time footing with a command economy in certain sectors right now and it is not happening. We all know all to well what happens to a park that over expands and then demand falls.
  17. That’s great. Are you two implying that is what we should do here in Ohio?
  18. These days it would be something like, “Stout, IPA”
  19. After they finally install the virtual queue system Ride Ops can sanitize each train after unload and load up another 5-6 guests. I don’t see a problem here.
  20. Also have your stapler ready for the virtual coaster ride.
