  1. I dropped by guest services and informed them about portion size. Mine was awful small too.
  2. @VortexBFForever Its grainy I know, but I was trying to get a picture of you driving without getting hollered at by the driver.
  3. I was the first guest at Coney BBQ this season. Had the chicken the first time and tri-tips the second time. Portion size on tri-tips was awful. Per the supervisor only 4-5 tips per serving. Very small amount imo. Chicken was around half a chicken, leg, small wing, thigh. Tri-tips portion size needs to be upped by at least 50%, preferably doubled though because they are not large. Met Chef Major on my run to the BBQ joint when the rope dropped. Nice guy, took a few minutes to chat with me about this and that. They need to adjust the portion sizes. I saw huge pulled pork sandwiches and dinky little tri-tips and rib portions. Also like the Carolina mustard sauce they had. BBQ sauce was tangy and sweet, just a touch of smoke in it.
  4. Invertigo was about 15 mins. Delirium and bat closed, Banshee probably 45.
  5. This article https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2018/04/10/ranch-cotton-candy-now-totally-thing-kings-island/504305002/ Says "So they will have some 60 chickens roasting at one time. That's 120 portions, by the way. " So 1/2 a chicken + a side it sounds like.
  6. Pretty sure they have a buyout on Sunday and the park is closed to the GP.
  7. Looks like they arrested one of the Co-owners of the park. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/26/kansas-water-park-co-owner-arrested-over-10-year-old-boys-decapitation.html
  8. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. As we were leaving my wife asked, "do you think he is part of that website thingy you go to?" (Yes, she refers to KIC as that website thingy... She's not very tech savvy). I told her I thought it was possible since I noticed you were wearing a lifetime coaster sweatshirt. Then reading your post and realizing it sounded exactly like what we had been talking about and seeing the Pokemon avatar... I just had to ask. Talk about a small world eh?
  9. @MDMC01 - did you happen to seek shelter at the chicken shack propane heaters tonight and strike up a convo with a guy and a gal who was carrying a Yoda and Darth Vader stuffed character? If so, that was my wife and me.
  10. I completely agree with this statement. It's such a small change but really diminishes the appeal of I-Street. I've been struggling with the appropriate tone of my correspondence to the park as well. My wife and I are a regular everyday married, no children couple. Neither of us possess any (known) superpowers. That being said, I cannot express how glorious it is to walk through the gates and come upon the fountains, sunset at your back, to hear the opening drum cadence of Fanfare for the Common Man. Truly one of my most memorable KI experiences. I hope they reconsider their decision.
  11. The wife and I were there from about 3-10 as well. I must've been unlucky because Zephyr was down all day, Surf Dog was down from about 6 on, as well as the aforementioned Viking Fury. I can also confirm that food staffing levels were the highest I've seen all season. We ate at all 3 La Rosa's and the food was hot and fast at all 3.
  12. I stopped by Guest Services last night and asked the guy working, "Where's the petition we need to sign to bring back the old I-Street movie music?" He laughed and said he missed it too. He also said they'd already had "many" (his words, not mine) complaints and comments since they made the change 2 weeks ago. He also said he would pass along that he's getting a lot of comments about it, most of them about bringing back the old music. At least the front line employees are aware that people want it back.
  13. Interesting. Especially as the webcams show the trains are out of storage sheds and on the tracks. I was just checking the weather and live cams before I saw this.
  14. Glad it wasn't just me. I used the updated version while I was at the park this past Friday. Took my iPhone from 96% down to 12% in about 2.25 hours. I too was able to finger the KI app as the culprit. It appears the app continues to run full GPS functions even when running on the background. Shame too, I would much rather just carry my phone rather than phone + physical wallet.
  15. @VortexBFForever - I could swear I heard an excerpt that sounded an awful lot like it came from the movie ET. I'm drawing on memory here but I want to say it sounded like the flight theme from the movie. Unfortunately I couldn't get my device out quick enough to identify it. I don't see it mentioned on your list, am I crazy or did it just get missed?
  16. I agree. We came back for a second day and are still here. It's possible even a full day might not be enough, especially if it's busy. Today hasn't been that bad, but yesterday was packed. Several of their associates said yesterday was the busiest they've seen it.
  17. Well, Thunderbird was the only thing open for the first few hours we were there. I did however splurge and put in 5 laps on Thunderbird, 5 on Voyage, 2 legend, and 1 Raven. Legend opened around 1 or so, Voyage at about 2. Both rides went back down later in the afternoon. No joke, I was making smalltalk with one of the Voyage ops and I asked whether the downtime was mechanical or weather and if it was down frequently. She said, "well we only have so many mechanics, and when everything is down they have to prioritize what to fix first. Because I chose to binge on the coasters, the only thing we got to in the waterpark was 1 Wildebeest. A lot of folks I spoke to had commented that the attractions were experiencing unusual amounts of downtime. They were even having problems with the flat rides like Mayflower and that chicken/Turkey spinning ride. My wife made the Executive Decision and added the consecutive day so I'm unexpectedly in a Holiday Inn about 30 minutes north of the park staring at tomorrow's forecast and wondering if this adventure "has a low statistical probability of success." Edit: Voyage night ride with a slight drizzle. Ermahgerd.
  18. Got here on time and everything.... And Voyage is down. Edit:Raven and Legend are also down.
  19. Got it. Legend. Lockers. Voyage. That answers my next question which was if we'd be able to get to those water park lockers before the water park opens at 11. We're planning on arriving at 9 and heading right to Legend when the rope drops.
  20. Stupid question, but do you know if backpacks can be left in the station while riding? Based on your recommended route, we'd have the backpack for Legend and Voyage, then put it in a locker after Voyage.
  21. Thanks for all the replies. I found some info on another site where one of the owners (I think she's one of the sisters) post and she had said the 1st week of July and the 4th is traditionally slow. My plan was to try to hit Legend, Voyage, then lockers on the way to Thunderbird and try to get those out of the way before the water park opens at 11. Then to the water coasters for a few hours. Weather says 91 with a slight passing chance for showers. We're planning on staying until close, not sure how dark it'll be at 9. But I'd like to get multiple laps on Legend and Voyage, I've been dying to ride them. I told the wife to wear her big boy pants so she's prepped for some walking.
  22. Thanks for the responses. We have the option to hit the water park, and are packing for it but aren't sure whether to hit the coasters first or the water park first. I'm more stoked to get some laps on Legend and Voyage than anything else. I'd like to go about everything in the most efficient way.
  23. I was just informed by my visiting mother-in-law and the wife that we are going to Holiday World on Monday the 3rd. We've never been so I could use some pointers. The current plan is to be in the parking lot by 0900 as the park opens at 1000. Weather is supposed to be warm, high 80s, with only a slight chance of scattered showers. I've done all the homework and checked out all their info online, but I figured the folks here would be a better resource than the park website. Any suggestions on where/what to eat, ride order or anything to help make the trip more enjoyable feel free to comment.
