Nope. I haven`t seen that many people on PKI`s version. In fact the times I have been at the park the past couple of weekends, I haven`t even witnessed them test it without people, much less with people. It shouldn`t be long now!
-
Anyone have any idea exactly how long the track is? They said just under 2,000 feet. I am curious to see how long it is. I would say around 2,200 feet but that is just a complete guess. It seems like there would be more than 2,000 feet of track.
-
Yes, when trains are not full, they offer a better view of the track ahead. But, on the flip side, because they are not as full, they also do not go as fast.
-
Why couldn`t you have edited your post instead of posting two topics within one minute of each other? And the park is open Labor day weekend (the first weekend in September). They are open that Friday (from 10 to 8), Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

So which side of the coin will Nickelodeon land in? The CBS, Paramount Park side or the Paramount Pictures and MTV side? Would Nickelodeon fit under the TV stations banner? Because I take that to mean the local television stations that Viacom operates. I believe that the Paramount Parks will still promote Paramount Pictures movies and the properties in the other company after the split next year.

Say what first? That the new Great Wolf Lodge is being prepared on the site of the campground this summer?
-
Keep LaRosa`s Pizza. PKI has a good collection of local favorites with Skyline, LaRosa`s, Montgomery Inn Ribs in Wings and now Graeter`s.

No, I beleive he is talking about the band, chorus and cub and girl scout weekend that is occuring this weekend. I do not know how busy the park is expected to be this weekend, but I may end up volunteering to work at the park on Saturday in foods, to raise money for my sister`s high school band (and my alma mater).

There is a gold pass night this Friday and next Friday from 5-10pm. I do not know if IJST will be accepting riders or not for technical rehearsals next weekend.
-
But if the park closed at 8, based on the number of people that were there, I`m sure the Son of Beast had quite a little line at closing time tonight! Not to mention how long it would take all those guests to file out of the park!
-
It was the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, and I heard they bought 45,000 tickets for today. Regardless of 35,000 or 45,000 that is still a ton of people in the park in one day. Not to mention all the walk up sales of tickets or pass holders (like me) who spent a couple hours in the park.
-
As Jeff mentioned this morning, the IJST is undergoing block testing, and every situation imaginable, to see how the ride and estops work. Then, if they haven`t already, they will need to get the state in to certify the ride before the technical rehearsals can begin for the gp.

PKI_Diana, I would have said hi, but a guest came up to you to ask you for directions to somewhere in the park. I`m sure I will see you in the park again on another, less crowded day!
-
Thanks, PKI_Diana! I saw you at the exit of Carousel today talking to two other people. I was wearing a gray UC shirt.

Yes, there will be a fishtail effect. Jeff Siebert mentioned today at the ACE walk back to The Beast, that they had begun testing the cars with this effect this past week. They had also begun testing the shaking mechanism in the cars this past week. He said they are getting close to being ready for the technical rehearsals. I personally can`t wait to experience this attraction. I am sure it will be a fun ride!
-
I have never seen Magilla`s that terribly crowded before. Theming at Magilla Gorilla`s Grill? Other than those umbrellas, I wouldn`t say it had great theming.
-
What company bought those tickets? There were enough people there, that they could have bought the park out! (Although some of the people in the park were gp and pass holders. However, when I left at 12, the Gold Pass lot was only about half full.) As Jeff Siebert mentioned on the morning walk back, they probably made lots of money from concessions and games today!
-
I heard numerous people walking by IJST today commenting on how they think it will be an exciting and fun ride. I also heard several people that were dissapointed to find the Antique Cars gone.
-
Yeah, it was busy. I got up there today for the ACE Walkback. Jeff said IJST is getting closer to opening for thos technical rehearsals. He said that they have begun to test the fishtail effect and the actuators which will make the cars shake. Jeff had said that he would be helping serve up food at Bubba Gump`s later in the day. I left the park at 12, having gotten 6 rides in (2 Beast and 2 Flight of Fear). When I left, the parking lot was almost full, and the back up to get into the lot stretched a mile down 71. As Jeff said at the walk back, the park will make a TON of money today. I still have yet to ride Son of Beast. I didn`t even go into the Action Zone today, because I knew it would be a zoo, just like the rest of the park was getting to be when I left.

Do they appear after the Italian Job movie? If so, then i won`t be able to see them, since the Italian Job movie never plays on my Mac. And that is regardless of what browser I am using to surf the net. Both Safari and Internet Explorer. Although, I do have more problems surfing the PKI site when using Safari.

Your decision to buy a season pass rested on whether or not Viacom was going to sell Paramount Parks? Also, while it does say that someonw wrote him stating that Viacom is no longer interested in selling the parks, I would hardly consider that as reliable. I still think it is a possibility that they will spin off the parks into their own entity, similar to Blockbuster, and use them to promote the Viacom properties with some sort of partnership deal. Only time will tell what happens!
-
And where would these commercials be located at on their site? A link would be helpful.

I just got back from the park. I got there for the morning ACE walkback. Where Jeff Siebert greated us at 9:30 and told us that there would be a lot of people in the park so ride as much as you can as early as you can. I got in two quick rides on The Beast, a ride on The Vortex, two quick rides on Fllight of Fear, and by that time, at around 11:30 the lines were starting to get insane. All the flats in Coney had at least one queue line open. I rode the Carousel and left. When I was leaving the main gate, they had practically every single ticket line open accecpting passes and tickets, and the same was true for the metal detectors. Upon leaving, the line of cars to get into the parking lot did stretch onto I-71 for about a mile. They had Mason Police controlling the traffic light at Western Row Road and Kings Island Dr. By the look of how many cars were waiting to get in, I`d venture to guess the park will be at near capacity today. In the Grass lot South of Deep South, they had cones and Construction mesh set up, to park cars. When I left at 12, the entire lot (minus the gold pass lot which was about half full) was almost completely full already! The crowds, as stated above were due to the 35,000 tickets sold to the group. 35,000 people is a lot when you add in the pass holders and other general public that shows up to enjoy the park. Needless to say, most pass holders will not be at the park long today!

Well, I wouldn`t reccomend distraction one of the sups from their jobs, just so someone can find what ride you are working at. And even if they did ask, you technically should not be talking to them while you are operating the ride anyway.

Yes, normally I have no problem with the pop up ads. I usually try and click them once in a while to support the site. But this add in particular is annoying because of the audio, which is quite loud and annoying when listening to iTunes.
