  1. That has likely already been paid for and the contacts for those things are already well under way likely. KI likely has cut expenses in other areas (For example maybe they wanted to order umbrellas this season and now they wont)
  2. I’m not even sure that’s really good news, it seems a bit premature considering we still lack testing to the scale needed to start reopening.
  3. That looks like it gives some decent airtime actually
  4. Yes it’s true that they lost out on a year of revenue however Cedar Stated most of their parks had 10% season pass growth this year, that’s huge. In the long term is probably much better to make sure all those new people are satisfied with their purchase then make them upset. If someone spent $500+ on passes for their family and feels like they go little to no value out of it then they likely would not renew their passes.
  5. Is everyone staying at home? No. The more people that are out the more people that can possibly become infected. As per your proof that this is being handled in the best way possible look at our hospitals, they aren’t becoming overwhelmed like those found in Italy.
  6. I think he was talking about all the parks In the chain that got Geauga Lake rides & was referring to Firehawk which has been removed.
  7. I know this year they were playing heavy metal I think, what did they used to play.
  8. Well we currently have a big lack for looping rollercoaster, a true multilaunch coaster would be nice.
  9. Honestly, I disagree. The park already arguably has the best wooden coaster collection in the world. I think there’s bigger holes in KI’s lineup.
  10. I spent like $100 on all season lockers, I doubt they’re going to do free lockers.
  11. Why do you think the lockers are going there?
  12. Well I believe the interior of Phantoms Theater was pretty much gutted (don’t quote me on that I don’t know a lot about the ride history) but yes, they could empty out the building and build Phantoms theater again if they wanted.
  13. I think S&S is nearly certain due to the KD leaks, please Cedar Fair, give me an S&S screamin swing
  14. The recent trend has been 3 years, and as Cedar Fair has stated they want to spread out their larger Capex investments more. So instead of getting a coaster every 3 years it’ll likely be every 4-5 years. Furthermore Cedar Fair is about to have a very rough time ahead of them due to Covid-19, investing in another 25 million dollar coaster at a park that’s mature is not going to happen. The direction the park & the chain seem to be going in is to enhance the overall guest experience, grand carnival, retheming areas, seasonal events ect. Not rollercoasters which is what defined the Kinzel era.
  15. That’s just unrealistic. In reality, our best case scenario would be two other coasters in 2020’s (likely 2025 & 2029). A coaster every 2 years is a waste of money in my opinion, I’d rather to see investments into flat rides, events, entertainment rather then more rollercoasters.
  16. Well that’s certainly a TIL, knew it seemed like a sudden decision but wow. Thanks for sharing, hope to read more about it in your book.
  17. I’m guessing it’s partially because our economy isn’t as focused on tourism as some of the other coastal states. Thanks for sharing the graphic @standbyme
  18. Well it was just confirmed by Knotts Berry Farm, KI hopefully will follow suit. https://www.knotts.com/passholder-update
  19. They’ve provided no proof this is true but...
  20. One of the things that I often think about is what if I305 was a different coaster model. If it was a B&M hyper coaster could the story of KD be different? I think so... As I’m sure many of you know KD & Carowinds were both being considered for the large amount of investment money, which ended up going to Carowinds. If KD had built a hyper, I’m assuming they may have seen much more positive reception with the ride due to how many people like B&M hyper coasters. Theoretically if it performed well the investment money may have possibly ended up going to KD. Yes I’m aware BGW has a hyper but I feel like they would have been able to find a way to differentiate between the two, maybe a splash down and a more twister 2nd half for example.
  21. Yes but IIRC if you donate cash the day of the event in person you would still be able to participate aslong as it is $150
  22. The Bat has decent ridership, according to the 2014 numbers. To put that In perspective if that would be at Carowinds it would be the 5th most ridden ride or KD’s 2nd most ridden ride.
