  1. I'm not exactly sure if there is one of these on here already (there is about 907 different pages out there), so here it goes
  2. I was taking a look at the weather charts for Saturday, October 20th, when you visited the park, and it appears that the temperature was in the 40's, but a wind chill in the 30's. Most roller coasters that are made of metal tend to not function as well (probably since metal contracts in cold temperatures; and metal roller coasters are usually designed to work in the hot summer and the metal expands). Wooden roller coasters, however, usually work better in the cold, but judging on your report that most of the coasters were closed, I'd say that they closed them so people wouldn't freeze while riding. I also find it interesting how Backlot was open.....
  3. I want it back on the tower because it made the tower look taller Look how much taller it looks compared to this: See what I mean?
  4. 1. @SonofBaconator: Sorry! I did not know that this page is already... I'll look next time. 2. Here are my suggestions: 1. Remove or relocate Sling Shot 2. Complete overhaul and restoration of Coney mall (including Racer and Vortex) 3. Bring back the Swiss Sky Ride 4. Expand or revamp Oktoberfest 5. Bring the original theme back to International Street 6. Put back the antenna on the Eiffel Tower 7. Remove Crypt building 8. Remove or relocate Back lot Stunt Coaster I can't think of any more at the moment, but if I do, I'll put it on here.
  5. (keep in mind I don't hate the park) My suggestions to improve Kings Island are as follows: 1. Remove Back lot Stunt Coaster I can't think of any more at the moment, but if I do, I'll put it on here.
  6. The biggest mistake was: removing the antique cars. 1000%.
  7. WE NEED TO RETURN RACER TO ITS FORMER PAINT JOB. They really need to. It will look better.
  8. Stuff I found out via Kings Island's website under Winterfest for 2018: 1. Winterfest activities in Coney Mall will be extended to the full length of the mall; upper half will be named Tinsel Town (which will be retro themed) and lower half will still be Coney Elf Village 2. One of the attractions in Tinsel Town is horse-drawn coach rides 3. There will be a new dining option in Tinsel Town called "Tinsel Town Diner" (will probably be located at the Jukebox Diner) 4. There will be a "Igloo Village" set up somewhere on International Street 5. Smokehouse Christmas (dining) will be in Coney Elf Village (probably at the new Smokehouse)
  9. MisterSGI, You are right about the buildings on International Street; also, I 100% agree it was all Paramount's fault!
  10. I have been coming to Kings Island for many years. The park has a great selection of rides and attractions for everyone who visits and I love it. But, throughout the years, I have noticed that Kings Island has ( I'll put it) neglected in one area: Theme. If you look at each individual area itself, you will see what I mean. Starting with Action Zone, if I had to rate it out of 10, it would receive at least an 8. Overall, not too bad; decent theme; could use a little improvement. Oktoberfest is a complete disaster! When Kings Island opened, it was full out German with a Bier Hall & Gardens, music, and German themed rides and was supposed to celebrate Cincinnati's German heritage. If you walked around it today, the only thing that is even remotely close to what it should be is the interior of the Festhaus. So, I would rate this at most a 4 out of 10. My advice: BRING BACK THE GERMAN THEME! Looking at Coney Mall, it would receive a 7 out of 10. Coney Mall is supposed to resemble Coney Island Mall, which I think it does a great job of doing. The only problem is the truest possible feeling of the Coney Island nostalgia isn't what it could be. Looking at Rivertown, it has a somewhat similar case that Oktoberfest. Rivertown's original theme was the old west; but where is it? I understand the theme was partially removed from the KI&MVRR because of the waterpark, but again: where is it? I think it would be cool if the brought at least some of the old west theme back to show people what life was like many years ago. So, I will give Rivertown a 7. Planet Snoopy will recieve the highest score; a 9 out of 10. The theme is right in spot, it makes a great area for the kids; all the good stuff. The only problem with this is that the log flume should be in Rivertown, not Planet Snoopy. And finally, International Street. I'm rating this a 5 out of 10. Again, almost very similar situation with Oktoberfest: the original theme isn't there. International Street used to be a boulevard of shops themed from countries around the world; but now it isn't; sadly.
