Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Construction Progress
CoasterJack replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
I'm thinking the same thing, the general look of the set seems to remind me a lot of their IAPPA demo for Mr. Krabs from the Spongebob ride, but I assume the animatronics will then be shipped to be used in the ride elsewhere, potentially in the queue up above, or at the beginning of the ride to explain the concept of the ride -
Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
CoasterJack replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Saw that, unfortunate that she was filming in an area of the tour you're not allowed to, but great for us who've been craving some phantom progress pictures, and it means we're only a month away from seeing them active. I've been on that Sally Tour, its a great time. I assume this will be the two animatronics shown at the Sally booth, and I assume these will be towards the beginning of the ride with the screen showcasing how the flashlight works. It definitely looks like the flashlights will be something new other than the same blasters, as the IAAPA description said they would show off the flashlight technology and two of the new animatronics. -
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge

I wish Chef Major well on the next step in his career. Some of his food specials over the course of the past few years have been amazing. Hopefully we continue to see new items and the KI food quality remains consistent. -
Honestly same. I'd rather take the park being able to fire on all cylinders, delivering a top class experience and take a few years to get another large addition after next year. Especially if it means we get to refrain from any more ride removals. Allow them to invest in some theming upgrades/maintenance, more wonderful nighttime shows, cleaning/bathrooms, fully staffing rides, painting, landscaping, and more. I feel like the average guest can easily remember a terrible food or bathroom exprience as much as a great ride experience. I love Cedar Point but I have many bad memories of terrible times in bathrooms. Or getting food poisoning from a Chop Six at SFMM.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
CoasterJack replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
Noticed this as well. Also made me realize apparently we're one of the only CF parks still charging $15 on weekends for the maze pass, or charging $35-$40 for the Conjuring. I assume this means the add-ons are selling better at KI compared to most other parks. The legacy SF parks on the other hand are still charging $25-$35, but also they've been charging for longer so makes sense that the guests are more used to it. -
I had this exact same experience this past Friday. Went to the Order of the Dragon early and they let us walk around the ropes. Then with KillMart later the yelled at our group for cutting around when there was no one else even close to the queue or in the queue. Order of the Dragon was great, the Conjuring was next level. Multiple of my friends who aren't huge haunt or KI people said the experience was top notch and that they'd happily attend a similar experience in the future. The rest of the mazes were a bit of a dissapointment, other than having some great interactions with some of the Slaughterhouse crew

If I remember right, that section of rail is slightly thicker and so when the portion of track is attached, the track is more straight. I assume it's angled down so its easier to slide each train car off the track

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
CoasterJack replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
For the most part rides and attractions were open though. Outside of The Racer only running one side, the park was better staffed than I was expecting. Also the experience in the mazes and scare zones was top notch. With so few people in the park, I'm pretty sure every single actor interacted with me at least once, if not more. The emptiness with the fog added to a spooky feeling I don't think I've ever felt in a Haunt before. Would highly recommend anyone to try and make a Haunt Thursday work (also so they don't take them away). -

Looks like they've got someone who's using a pool vacuum system of some sort to clean the fountain this morning. Looks like its not the most enjoyable process of pushing around all that goose poop. -

There's an hourly show with probably the most pyrotechnics I've ever seen in a theme park. Lots of fire, cool music and lights. Would highly recommend anyone at Haunt to try and be on I-Street at the top of the hour. Strange the park has said anything and you can't find anything about it on the app. -

Yes, they lowered maximum the price of the attractions pass, but they raised the minimum price of the conjuring (from $15 to $20) in order to try and limit crowds more considering the insane line it seems to have shortly after opening -
The Kings Island Car and the Fun Bus
CoasterJack replied to SPONGEBOB_FAN_97's topic in Kings Island
The metro actually has a line that goes from downtown to KI. I believe the 71X takes passangers from government square to the passanger drop off area. Not exactly "fun", but it is a nice option to have. -

potentially, it sounds like this show building is much larger though, so we'd have to see some sort of extension -
Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
CoasterJack replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
The building is still there. From what I understand its partially used by park services, and mainly used as a fall daytime walkthrough activity called "The Magical House on Boo Hill". A little ironic if I do say so myself -
At what point do we usually start to see the pyrotechnics installed?

Kings Island General Discussion 2025

Is it haunt, or is it winterfest, seems like neither. Looks like Zimmerman reached into his magic hat and pulled out two more fall dates, 11/8 and 11/9, open 11am-7pm. Well, they're on the calendar for now at least, we'll see if they're still there in a few weeks -

I think most of the stuff is contractually secure at this point. From photos, seems like the design is already in motion, and there's a good chance this project started awhile back, potentially even pre-merger. Also Sally Dark rides is domestic, so it shouldn't run into some of the delays and other issues the overseas manufacturers have had. So I think PT: ON should be safe from what I can assume... -
Six Flags MVP Passes On Sale Now!
CoasterJack replied to Diamondback_Is_King's topic in Kings Island
Recently renewed and decided to upgrade to Prestige as well. The single use Fast Lane is especially useful for vistors who pop in for a few hours at a time. When I visited Cedar Point this past weekend, I drove in Friday, used my single use Fastlane to ride Siren's Curse before park close, then returned the following morning with another Fast Lane to use. The closer parking and VIP lounge aren't huge benefits to me, but the extra 3 free tickets (one more this year compared to gold and two next year), and the single use Fast Lane was enough to warrant the extra $100 bucks for me. And the extra 5% discount won't hurt either... I'll be curious as others have mentioned if the VIP lounge and preferred parking can handle the new prestige members. I feel like for an extra hundred bucks, quite a few will be taking advantage of this deal. -

Also look at the grand prize. Looks like an early 2010s iPod Touch. I believe it's mainly been gaming consoles and Air Pods the past few years. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

It's honestly just as entertaining to watch, in fact definitely more interesting to watch than trying yourself, speaking from experience... -
In my opinion I think the Omnimover system feels much nicer than the carts that smash the doors open on the other boo blasters rides. It gives off old school carnival dark ride, which is fine, but I think the omnimover carts feel more premium, something seen more at a Disney Park. Now would a more dynamic ride vehicle be awesome like what's found on Justice league or Men in Black, but I don't know if that's the right choice for a dark ride like phantom theater (or if SF wants to pony up that kind of money).

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
CoasterJack replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
United Parks (SeaWorld & Busch Gardens) have been running a sale where you can get season access to one of their parks a local water park for $118. Though part of the catch with them is you have to pay for parking every visit, which I believe was $45 for general parking last time I checked, which is insane. Something I want to add here, Cedar Point just updated their Early Entry policy for next year. Looks like Gold is no longer included. Now, you already had to have the All Park passport to enter, you couldn't just get in with your standard gold pass. But it's interesting that now only Prestige and Hotel guests will be able to enter an hour before the official park open. -

I agree. Though in all honestly, I think KI just needs more dark rides in general. Keep the Boo Blasters building as something with more physical sets, and then build a Justice League ride or modern dark ride with a more dynamic ride system elsewhere in the park.
