Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Perhaps the real plans are the ones that Mike Brady (Jan) lost on the old Kenton's Cove Canoe Ride. -

On the Mean Streak topic : there was a picture posted about a week or so ago of surveying equipment near Mean Streak, and a stake that said "RMC". However RMC in this case most likely referred to Rigid Metallic Conduit. -

If i recall correctly the labels on the track at CSF no longer show the park name, an only show "Xwerks" as the customer. This was in response to The Patriot issue a few years ago, where pictures were taken prior to the park announcing. -
Just a quick rant about the season long refill cup. Ordered it when I renewed my pass over the off season. Got cup during pass holder preview night. Cashier had problems activating it but said it was good. Tried to get refill Saturday, and cashier said it wasn't activated. Had to go to Guest Relations and get a voucher for a new one. Went to a drink location to get new cup, but they were unable to activate any of their cups because the "bar code was invalid". Had to wait in line at another location and eventually get a new cup, and have been insured that is activated. Time will tell. How are the bar codes invalid on new cups? On a side note can anyone confirm if these cups are good at the other Cedar Fair parks, like the 99 cent refill cups were last year?

Lines seemed to be a lot better Saturday. Both sides of the Larosa's in the Festhaus was opened, although one side only had 1 cashier. Wait time was 5 minutes.

There use to be times when food service staffing was low, they had ride operators working food service.

Welcome to KI Central, please don't type with your caps lock on, this is considered as yelling. And to answer your question, I believe you print your voucher out when you purchase your pass, if you failed to do so, you should be able to access you via your accesso account.

Wrong lane on Kings Island exit can cost you $18
TRTR Guy replied to KIfan73's topic in Kings Island
The right lane has always gone into Kings Island, its just in a different place now. People that get themselves into these situations should not be driving. I think the new parking entrance has a lot to do with the changes that will be happening to Kings Island Drive the next few years. -
Also as of last year it was possible to use another family members pass to get a meal, even if it hadn't been scanned to enter the park. I believe that problem has been remedied.

The Log Flume's water drains out of the trough when not running. It has its own reservoir which is the water under the trough. Additionally it is possible for the Log Flume to run without any "show water" coming down the chute -

^ Its something unique with the way the brakes work on Arrow Coasters, the trains have to be chained down at the end of the night or they will roll forward. Just easier to park one on the lift hill. -

This is the standard parking position for The Bat. One train on the lift hill, and the other in the station chained down. -

Well, there are currently 9 B&M Wing Coasters (counting the one opening in China next year), so a Wing Coaster at Kings Island would be #10 -

It's not perfectly obvious in the picture what you're seeing, but those two lower right windows now have Venetian blinds instead of the more period-appropriate tattered curtains of the other windows. If they had simply covered the windows with something like paper or cardboard, I'd assume it was a temporary thing meant to block something unsightly or that they didn't want the public to see. But going to the trouble to install such obviously inappropriate window coverings, almost has to mean something or be intended to be used to reveal something at a future date. I know I am going to be watching each visit to see if sometimes the blinds are slatted open to show something of interest behind. (stashua123, if there is such a team, I'm on it) While the modern day blinds have been there for years, as this room is used as an office. However, there may still be a clue here. The sign that had the "rates" to stay there is missing. Perhaps it was sent out to raise the price, as the rates will be going up due to "increased property value" -

They j ust had an article about SOB on channel 5 news and they showed the are where the loop should be, but no loop.
-
Well if you would've been around you would've heard the start up siren and then the lift start, which was the case Monday.
-
Both trains (the one on the lift and the one in the station) were cycled completly through the track normally and immeaditaly transfered to the side track.
-
I don't think they removed it, because it contains the rides serial number and such which is requirered to be at the ride, BTW the plaque is still on the front entrance leg. If anything they may've covered it up temperarly, but the plaque was there early in 2002.
-
Hmm, waht more proof do you want, a ride being altered after the accident so it can't stay upside down as long, as well as additional restraints, as well as the removal of said ride within a few years of it opening due to decreased ridership.
-
So what makes you Mr. Amusement Ride Engineer. Just because one restraint happens to fail doesn't mean all the seat in that car will fail yet alone the whole train. Now the only way the whole train of restraints would fail at once, would be if for some reaon the platen came down.
