If You Change One Thing About A Kings Island Ride
OverlandTaxis30 replied to kingsislandfan1972's topic in Kings Island
I would add more scenery and hidden animals along the route of the K.I. & M.V. railroad. Particularly along the stretch from Rivertown to just past Mystic Timbers. To be more specific, I would put in a pioneer village scene in that empty space across from MT. And in the wooded area just before then, is where I would place the animals. And just for fun, I would put in Bigfoot for people to spot. -
Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
OverlandTaxis30 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Those actually don’t look too bad. This is a use of sponsor logos which I don’t mind. Have them be a PART of the design and blend in with it, rather than just plastered all over like a billboard in a collage. -
The Amusement Park Railroad Thread
OverlandTaxis30 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Knott’s has two train rides. The big narrow gauge one, the Ghost Town and Calico, is still steam powered. The other one, Grand Sierra Railway, is of the miniature variety and THAT was the one that replaced real steam with a steam outline. Also, it was not a C.P. Huntington model that replaced it. The new engine is a 2-4-0 and resembles the original engine more than a Huntington would have. Plus, I would not mind too much of the change in motive power, as long as the train ride stayed. -
And while you are at it, maybe you can find all the blueprints for the original Antique cars rides. track, stations and bridge. Hehehe.

Kentucky Kingdom
OverlandTaxis30 replied to sccard01's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Has anyone noticed that one of the three new family rides announced is a train ride? I am not getting my hopes up for a train the size of Dollywood's or even KI's; but, considering the fact that Kentucky Kingdom has never had a train ride before, I am going to wait and see what kind of train ride they went with, where it is going, and what it's layout will be. -
Coney Island Display at EnterTRAINment Junction
OverlandTaxis30 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Coney Island Central
For what it is worth, the Chattanooga area has already got a piece of Coney Island history. The Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park in nearby Rossville GA, has one of the original Coney Island and Lake Como railroad trains. Engine #35. -

Then, you will be disappointed to learn that the Coney section will be transported along with the rest of the display down to Chattanooga. -
Worlds of Fun ride removal rumors
OverlandTaxis30 replied to OverlandTaxis30's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Calm down everyone. As I had titled this thread, these are just rumors. -
What Christmas/winterfest merch was there?

Worlds of Fun ride removal rumors
OverlandTaxis30 replied to OverlandTaxis30's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
With that logic, then ELI (WOF railroad) and Le Taxitour could possibly be on the chopping block as well. The former has recently within the last 7 to 5 years gone through an extensive rebuild and the latter just got new “antique” vehicles this past year (the same models used at KMAA). -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

Let’s just wait and see what happens. Shall we? -
Kentucky Kingdom

Call me a dreamer but it would be nice if, as a part of their plan, Herschend installed a train ride at KK seeing as their other theme park properties have one. -

I still don’t get it. But, thanks anyway. -

I don’t know how that could have been harmful to me, but thanks. I think. I have no reason to be against having the Eagles back. -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026

Personally, I would leave the spot sandwiched between Backlot, Jukebox, and the basketball game untouched. But, that is just me. -

Maybe something to finally go onto the old Tomb Raider site in Rivertown? -
Buy or Sell
OverlandTaxis30 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sell - While I do think it is not impossible for some parks to have the “Six Flags” branding added (i.e. Kings Island: a Six Flags park), I don’t believe it is likely to be that extreme as you had suggested. But, hey anything can happen. Imagine Worlds of Fun being renamed Six Flags over the World (even though it only has five themed sections). Buy or Sell: This rumored 2026 coaster that KI is getting will turn out to be just that Beast 2.0 they had on the survey. -
Buy or Sell
OverlandTaxis30 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sell-But not for the reasons most people think. I know people are upset at the situation this year and have given Zamperla a lot of hate for it. But, I don’t see them giving up on it and I will bet they are doing what they can to rectify it, no matter how long it takes. That being said, I see expecting something like an opening day opening to be setting yourself up for another disappointment if that turns out not to be the case. If they do manage to get it fully functional by opening day, great! If not, then we are none the worse for it. Buy or Sell? - Holiday World will do something with the old Raging Rapids site within the next ten years. -
Silver Dollar City announcement
OverlandTaxis30 replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If that is true, then it would be nice if one of said announcements is that of a new drive-yourself car ride (a-la Antique cars). Correct me if I am mistaken, but has anyone ever noticed that throughout SDC’s history, they have never had such a ride? -
Silver Dollar City announcement
OverlandTaxis30 replied to Oldiesmann's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I just checked Google Maps and according to them, SDC is roughly 3 and a half hours away from BOTH Worlds of Fun and Six Flags Saint Louis. That is only a little bit shorter of a drive than going from Kings Island and Cedar Point which is like 3 hours and 40 minutes. -
Something is Surfacing 9-19-2024
OverlandTaxis30 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And there is nothing wrong with speculation as long as we remember that it is just that. Speculation. And that we should not go so far as to immediately assume that it is true.
