  1. You never see much merch for the K.I. and M.V. railroad. Not even stickers. It deserves more respect.
  2. That sounds almost similar to how I would’ve brought back the drive-it-yourself car ride to KI. Albeit my idea involved removing the stunt coaster altogether and bringing back two car tracks. One with modern cars in Coney Mall and the other with Antique Cars in Rivertown. All that aside, I don’t know how much space the old circus area would have had for a drive-it-yourself ride.
  3. I think people would be too busy getting wet or trying to avoid getting wet to take much notice. Personally, I think the K.I. and M.V. Railroad could utilize more scenes and figures along the stretch from Rivertown to the water park.
  4. While I like how they replaced most of the LA references with those of Cincy, I, personally, am not a fan of the new name. It still has too much of a movie vibe and seems more like a lazy renaming. How this could have been better in my opinion is that the cars would also have been dressed up to resemble taxicabs and the coaster be named, “Queen City Tour Taxis.”
  5. When you can’t hear the train whistle. Even during the months when sound is less muffled.
  6. I would add more scenery and hidden animals along the route of the K.I. & M.V. railroad. Particularly along the stretch from Rivertown to just past Mystic Timbers. To be more specific, I would put in a pioneer village scene in that empty space across from MT. And in the wooded area just before then, is where I would place the animals. And just for fun, I would put in Bigfoot for people to spot.
  7. Those actually don’t look too bad. This is a use of sponsor logos which I don’t mind. Have them be a PART of the design and blend in with it, rather than just plastered all over like a billboard in a collage.
  8. While I like the retro logo concepts above, having both the crown and flag adorning the word “Kings” makes (in my mind, at least) the logo look “heavy” on one side.
  9. Knott’s has two train rides. The big narrow gauge one, the Ghost Town and Calico, is still steam powered. The other one, Grand Sierra Railway, is of the miniature variety and THAT was the one that replaced real steam with a steam outline. Also, it was not a C.P. Huntington model that replaced it. The new engine is a 2-4-0 and resembles the original engine more than a Huntington would have. Plus, I would not mind too much of the change in motive power, as long as the train ride stayed.
  10. And while you are at it, maybe you can find all the blueprints for the original Antique cars rides. track, stations and bridge. Hehehe.
  11. Has anyone noticed that one of the three new family rides announced is a train ride? I am not getting my hopes up for a train the size of Dollywood's or even KI's; but, considering the fact that Kentucky Kingdom has never had a train ride before, I am going to wait and see what kind of train ride they went with, where it is going, and what it's layout will be.
  12. For what it is worth, the Chattanooga area has already got a piece of Coney Island history. The Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park in nearby Rossville GA, has one of the original Coney Island and Lake Como railroad trains. Engine #35.
  13. Then, you will be disappointed to learn that the Coney section will be transported along with the rest of the display down to Chattanooga.
  14. Calm down everyone. As I had titled this thread, these are just rumors.
  15. With that logic, then ELI (WOF railroad) and Le Taxitour could possibly be on the chopping block as well. The former has recently within the last 7 to 5 years gone through an extensive rebuild and the latter just got new “antique” vehicles this past year (the same models used at KMAA).
  16. There has been a bit of a buzz lately in the Worlds of Fun community that said park will also have a couple of rides removed. Speculations abound as to which one. Ranging from Zulu (which is their Enterprise model) to Mamba (their hyper coaster).
  17. Call me a dreamer but it would be nice if, as a part of their plan, Herschend installed a train ride at KK seeing as their other theme park properties have one.
  18. Redesign the way people can get in and out, but keep the cavernous entrance. Keep the slow reveal of international street and the tower. That is a part of the KI experience. I don’t want KI to lose more of its charm.
  19. I don’t know how that could have been harmful to me, but thanks. I think. I have no reason to be against having the Eagles back.
  20. Personally, I would leave the spot sandwiched between Backlot, Jukebox, and the basketball game untouched. But, that is just me.
  21. Maybe something to finally go onto the old Tomb Raider site in Rivertown?
  22. Not controversial at all to me at least. The entrance is the way it is to act as a tunnel gate that you walk through leaving the real world behind and entering another. Everything is probably meant to be hidden from the outside to build up anticipation.
