  1. Yeah. Like those. Too bad they don’t have them anymore. Still, having Lionel build running models would have been great. Missed opportunity there if you ask me.
  2. To continue on with the merchandise talk, it would be nice if they had more merchandise related to such family attractions like the K.I. & M.V. railroad and the Kings Mills Antique Autos. Like maybe long sleeve shirts and ornaments. Or even better models. If you ask me, Cedar Fair made a mistake when they chose one of CP’s engines for Lionel to model. The model chosen resembles our engines more than their’s.
  3. When you can relate to how other population centers feel about their local theme parks. Such as when I visited Worlds of Fun in Kansas City last year. What Kings Island is to us, Worlds of Fun is to them.

  5. https://www.ksn.com/news/local/peta-targets-wichita-company-over-carousels/amp/ I just have no words to accurately describe how I feel.
  6. Hey Worlds of Fun! Want to swap Zulu for Sol Spin?
  7. Race for your life Charlie Brown would remain as is for it still fits with the Camp theme. Or if they decide to incorporate it back to Rivertown, its original name - Kings Mills Log Flume. Kings Mills Antique Autos - I would rename to something like Ohio Overland Tour Taxis. As a nod to what preceded them.
  8. I have no words to describe this that are “clean.” “hand slap on forehead!”
  9. I don’t keep track of how often I ride something when I go. But: I always make a point to ride the train whenever I go! I ride Diamondback more than Orion.
  10. I wouldn’t mind restaurant chains at KI as long as they fit the theme of the area in which they reside. For example, at the time of my visit, Worlds of Fun had a Panda Express which resided in the Orient section of that park.
  11. Paramount’s placement of themed rides in the early 2000s left a lot to be desired. I agree. Tomb Raider could have fit in nearer to Adventure Express. Though where, I don’t know.
  12. I agree with this last statement. Those Arrows which have become icons and classics should receive the “Loch ness Monster” treatment. So that they can continue to be enjoyed for years to come.
  13. Maybe that was what they were aiming for. Remember, Kings Island was conceived as a relocated Coney Island. Going for a carbon copy of Disneyland would probably have been extremely alarming and disheartening for the residents who loved Coney’s atmosphere. So, maybe a different, yet familiar experience was the compromise they went with. Using the core “hub and spoke” Disney layout as the basis for a new and improved Coney. A train encircling the park might have been a step too far. Or maybe it just never crossed their minds.
  14. I mentioned this before on an another thread. But, I would retheme Backot so that it ties in more with Rivertown and make the area it is in more aesthetically pleasing. New trains resembling Conestoga wagons. New name would be, “Horseless Carriages.” Story would be this: One of the more eccentric residents of Rivertown has developed a way for Conestoga Wagons to run themselves and has invited the public to test them out.
  15. We are very lucky that Kings Island’s railroad is still going strong because people care enough about it. Other parks were not.
  16. And they could also retheme Backlot with Cincinnati and/or other Ohio landmarks, and name it something like “Queen City Hot Rods. Just my two cents.
  17. My reaction to that is, “What the H***?!”
  18. I got my father The Beast beanie hat for Christmas. He liked it.
  19. Didn’t Kings Island begin as a theme park? With the themed sections such as Oktoberfest, Rivertown, etc.?
  20. While Coney Island’s train was the same model as Lake Winnie’s, it is NOT one and the same. One of Coney’s old trains is in storage in Kentucky near the old Guntown Mountain. Also, Walt’s train was based on the design of the Central Pacific 173, a 4-4-0, not the C.p. Huntington, a 4-2-4.
  21. That’s nice and all. But, I was thinking more along the lines of sweaters, ornaments, etc.
  22. What new Winterfest merchandise is being sold this year?
