  1. I can't stand all the sad, horrible news lately. The pain that the family must be experiencing right now is numbing to imagine. The odds seem overwhelming, but I'm hoping/praying for a happier ending that is so evident given the facts.
  2. Images of the super-strength, semi-monolithic fasteners can only serve to unleash hints of Cedar Fair's underlying, compelling methodologies. While Cedar Fair and subordinate Kings Island hierarchical operatives (corporate as well as management-level ideation pros) objectively synergize flexible alignments. With forward-looking flair, the team has shown, since Diamondback, that they can efficiently synthesize evermore-coherent meta-services and continually aggregate backward-compatible initiatives. Banshee introduced an unveiling of their competitively-driven desire to distinctively promote dynamic products, and to continually reconceptualize out-of-the-box rider-experience models. As innovators move passionately to progressively implement more "elastic" materials (whether organic or composite) -the "clicks-and-mortar" mindshare, if you're so inclined ... these slowly-revealed, much-anticipated marvels of entertaining engineering will continue to morph leading-edge initiatives! Records are meant to be shattered, but not always...
  3. It goes in the center of that turnaround down at the bottom of the pic I'm really buying what you're selling here, Kenban. The zones divided by the railroad track makes a lot of sense. I thought the statue was replacing the Eiffel Tower. Never mind about that...?Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk Where would the elevator go? Up. Tb, obliged.
  4. Oops... might help if I actually include the silly picture . . . Meanwhile, it would be kinda neat to have that part of the park open up some more. I love the new look of the Grove, but for it to become something of a midway, with a new coaster entry adjacent to it would improve the feeling of "no man's land" between the wet and dry parks, imho.
  5. Ladies and Gentlemen: the Picnic Coaster! (Sorry if that's a rerun)... couldn't resist...
  6. What? The Philadelphia Toboggan Company is out of business? I was hoping they'd build something over at that new park they're putting up in Doswell.
  7. Who could think of such a thing happening? Tragic beyond words...
  8. Adrian, eh? Hmmm. Breaking out the Zamperla corporate directory... While I think of Rocky, running through... Philadelphia... home of a certain toboggan company, but never home of cream cheese .
  9. In that light, it kinda feels like "insurance," when the PR manager at your favorite park famously holds the riding record for said roller coaster.
  10. Welcome to KIC. The Beast has character all its own. It does have its mean spots, but like adding sugar to a fine vintage, drastic changes to the overall ride would render it soulless - at least for awhile.
  11. Umm, a gentleman in a business suit came to the Whitewater Canyon geysers last year and told me that he has a secret identity on KIC, and I believed him, because he had two other gentlemen in business suits with him. I won't reveal who this man, nor who his compadres were, but suffice it to say I was delightfully entertained by the whole revelation, and wasn't at all... mad... bro.
  12. That is an amazing, vivid trip report! Enjoyed it very much! You'd be surprised the parking spots you can find, returning to the upgrade lot later in the day! And I laughed out loud about the entry plaza. I'd love to see a time-lapse of all the shuffling cars do when the lights keep changing colors... Great TR!
  13. I returned to riding Vortex this year, after I took about a ten-year vacation from riding Vortex (because it beat the crap out of me in 2006). I was pleasantly surprised that, if I "lean into" the rough twists at the top of the second hill (before going into the loops, when the track goes from a leftward tilt into a sudden 'reset' to "level"), I can avoid the boxing match. The ride feels no different than it did the first 50 times I rode it! No, Vortex is a living museum piece of roller-coaster oneupsmanship that has been an anchor for 30 seasons (inclusive of 1987).
  14. Coming in the spring of 2017: Grandson Of The Beast! The tallest, fastest, longest wooden roller coaster in the world! The world's first collaboration from GCI and RMC! ...and JPL
  15. Thanks, upstop! I enjoy sharing them with this community, which has been like a family to me for these past 12 years.
  16. I've heard people say that they thought the ride op was just telling them their place in the "count" of riders, and didn't associate it with seat numbers. I've gone through the line and heard "okay you're twenty-two and twenty three," which I know means seat number; others might confuse this with "okay, you're the twenty-second and twenty-third riders for this cycle, and just go find a seat, not knowing that they're 'numbered.' Anyway, it's always a good idea to avoid confronting someone directly; just go to an employee and let them know of the situation.
  17. Ok. I like the idea of tall. Huge. A drop that defies all limits of thrill, and challenges the most primal fears of falling from the sky! Go BIG, KI! Let's knock every other amusement park's "records" back on to their collective tuchas! Yeah! (But whatever you do, I'll come to enjoy it, and love it like every new addition we've seen over the last many years!)
  18. For example, bribing public officials just to satisfy curiosity that can be satisfied for free in only a few months. Meanwhile... Now let's all get back to being friendly
  19. So he was abusive. Now he's dead. His pure lack of worth is now cemented in his everlasting death. Now on to the important, valuable human beings left behind in the wake its (sic) reprehensible terrorism. Has anyone seen any legit donation sites? Would love to contribute.
  20. I can't soothe my anger. I just can't. At least people of all races, religions, etc., are lining up for blocks to give blood, and to help the families of the victims of this terrorism. Yes, terrorism.
  21. I saw the 3:30 show today. I actually miss the drummer. The opening animal-clown bit seemed to drag, and the juggling act was a mess, and the people behind me kept complaining, so I left before the painting segment. I felt bad for the troupe, but I know it'll all gel soon.
  22. Not saying it's crowded or anything, but the 11 o'clock line to the train was almost to Reds Hall of Fame Grill
  23. I don't like sand... it's coarse and rough, and it gets everywhere... "mylady." (I don't think there's an emojii creepy enough to match the "Anakin Skywalker Mylady Stare" from episode II)
  24. I think I remember them being used during the construction of Son of Beast.
  25. I'm enjoying all of you guys' coaster concepts! Ok... one more and then I'm off to tomorrow's 92° day; which means it's time to help cool off fellow guests Mwa ha ha ha... oh, yeah. It won't be long now... or, well, tall, maybe... Cue the music! ( too soon?)
